From his studio in Berlin, Squidbrain recasts the slow-burning meditations on Latin percussion, G-house and 2000s RnB samples that characterize the original, upping the tempo and blurring the lines between electro, UK bass, and breaks. In his remix, he brings a workout of syncopated and bouncy kick and bass, offbeat snares, and weaving and gritty breaks, balancing cold and mechanical elements of electro with the funky and inviting spirit of the source material. Max G's Original Mix of iBroke is drum-heavy Latin-percussive minimal funk house with an ostentatious vocal sample and surreal bursts of demented synth energy.
