The theme is Biome and each record has been linked to one of Earth’s distinct bioregions/ecosystem types. The second record in our Biome series is German producer Billion One’s stunning LP “Hi Cozy Paradise” and it is our Tropical & Subtropical Moist Broadleaf Forests selection. “Hi Cozy Paradise” is a sprawling kaleidoscopic journey through a myriad genre and tonal stations in a wonderfully realised warm world of dense musical biodiversity. It’s colourful and engaging and very often breathtaking in its beautiful soundscapes. Billion One is multi-instrumentalist Sven Strohschnieder whose work is typified by an incredible deft musicality coupled with dynamic and intricate sound design. Sven is a chameleon of style and genre - from Balearic downtempo to 80s coded pastoral electronica forays and off to heavy thuds of quasi slowed electro, “Hi Cozy Paradise” is no doubt one of his most explorative and comprehensively vast works to date. The LP hovers around concept album territory with each track offering up a wholly different expression of the overarching theme of paradise in all its forms and idiosyncrasies - something perfectly realised in Blake Thompson’s stunning album artwork which splendidly captures the record’s pastel brilliance and warm, gently trippy, fantastical nature. Sven’s background as a drummer permeates throughout the record with tunes anchored by intuitively effortless and satisfyingly groovy rhythmic interplay; and, cheeky playful melodies - quite often punctuated by beguiling vocal chops - dazzle and delight and linger in the ear far after the record concludes. At 14 tracks and 82 minute run time the record is a dense sojourn structured in what can be thought of as two halves split directly at the halfway mark in the track list. The first half a warm wander through pastoral electronica vistas with the second quickly veering to heavier and chunkier locales before returning. The sheer breadth of musical ideas and environments on offer here is nothing less than staggering. It is this fertile and rich sonic diversity that gives the record its Biome classification: “Hi Cozy Paradise” is akin to an aural rainforest teeming with life of all kinds in a thick interconnected ecosystem just waiting to be explored.

That's the case here, as he offers up a typically well-crafted and ear pleasing collection of cuts from talented Liverpudlian Andy Ash. 'When The Sunlight Comes' is classic Ash, with layers of ear-pleasing melodic motifs, sun-bright electronics and bubbly acid lines wrapping round a huggable, wide-eyed house groove. 'Sunrise Acid' lives up to its name, with Ash delivering yearning, dew-soaked dancefloor brilliance that Flabaire later re-casts as a dreamy chunk of acid-flecked electro excellence. Elsewhere, 'Deep Edge' is a Hammond-laden mid-tempo shuffler and '3 Feet East' is the EP's most propulsive and peak-time ready workout.

Closing cut ‘Rectangle Hours’ rounds out the EP with a restrained house tool, its crisp drum programming and echo-drenched bleeps creating a hypnotic, late-night offering.

The title track “Still Love” opens the EP with a series of contemplative notes. As the bass stirs, the track expands, adding energy alongside the breakbeat. Delusions Of Grandeur is proud to welcome back emerging producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Declan McDermott for his standout new EP, ‘Why Don’t You Believe Me?’. Blending analogue hardware and live musicianship with deep, groove-driven production, the release showcases a confident and colourful voice in contemporary underground house. Hailing from Sydney and now based in Berlin, Declan McDermott has quietly evolved into one of the most intriguing new names in left-of-centre house music. A lifelong instrumentalist and vintage gear authority he shifted from producer/ musician-for-hire, to step into his own spotlight after falling in love with the hypnotic pull of late-night deep house and dub-influenced dance records. His studio work draws on analogue synths, vintage drum machines, field recordings, and his own understated vocal delivery, forming a sound that’s warm, textural, and effortlessly soulful. With his debut release turning heads among selectors who value emotion as much as groove, this EP marks his development as one to watch. ‘Why Don’t You Believe Me?’ is a slow-mo deep-house meditation wrapped in warmth and weight. Declan and his featured vocalists lay down their spoken and vocodered vocals across minimal, stripped-back house drums, weaving through DX7 and OBX-a melodies with subtle dubby infections. It’s intimate but floor-friendly - an introspective nocturnal groove that sways rather than shouts. Next up is a remix from revered French luminary I:Cube who lifts the BPM and launches the track straight onto the club floor. Leaning into cosmic-disco and classic filter house, the remix is propelled by a rolling, hypnotic bassline and warm Rhodes chops that drive the groove along. It’s a classy, elevated rework with the signature I:Cube balance of drive and dreaminess. Flipping over to the legendary NYC-based DJ Nature (founding member of Bristol’s Wild Bunch crew and sound system) who injects raw soul into the original, keeping things crunchy, real, and deeply felt. Clipped drums, dusty organ textures, and a warm, human touch guide this version - equal parts basement grit and emotive mood. It’s the kind of remix that feels like it could only come from a seasoned hand. The EP floats to a close on a serene, atmospheric note with ‘Yara-Kimba (Lindeman Island)’. Named after Yara-Kimba, the Indigenous name for Lindeman Island in the Ngaro Nation / Whitsundays region of Australia, given by the Ngaro people, the traditional custodians of the land meaning ‘place of the snapper fish’. Echoes of Ron Trent’s spacious, spiritual deep house permeate the arrangement, with gentle percussion, tropical tones, and a calm-breathing groove. As Declan says “This track is a tribute to Yara-Kimba, inspired by childhood memories, the island’s natural soundscape, and my vision of a distinctly Australian / Oceanic house sound.”

In his 30th year of releasing music, Jimpster returns to Freerange with ‘Bassic Rollers‘, a brand new four-track EP that reaffirms his status as one of UK house music’s most enduring and inventive figures. This marks his first full release since the highly regarded ‘The Phoenix EP’ on the legendary Nu Groove imprint and follows his recent accolade of being named Traxsource Top Artist of the Year, placing at an impressive #11. With ‘Bassic Rollers‘, Jimpster once again distils decades of dancefloor knowledge into four deeply musical club weapons. Opening the release, ‘Out And About’ finds Jimpster firmly in his sweet spot. Tight, bouncing drums, shuffling hi-hats and sweeping synths combine for a driving, stripped-back burner. Flipping to the B-side, ‘Crispy Pancakes’ takes a sharp turn into mutant disco territory. A crunchy kick, tight 808 hats and driving analogue percussion form the backbone, while a looped live bass sample adds the raw energy. When the drop lands, the track dives deep with arpeggiated synth lines and unmistakable Underground Resistance-style pads, delivering an uplifting and euphoric moment primed for peak-time floors. Closing out the EP, ‘Far Side’ lowers the tempo for a sublime slice of deep disco house. 'Element EP' is the second release on the label, a four track EP by Uksimo. The record continues the rhythmic direction introduced on the first release, centered around groove and subtle changes that keep the tracks evolving. The EP opens with Element, built around a hypnotic groove where a melodic synth line slowly unfolds. In the break the track opens up briefly before settling back into the rhythm. Next is Shifted, driven by sharper drums and a tight rhythmic structure. The break builds tension before the groove returns with more weight. Detect moves deeper into the low end, with a heavier bassline and crisp shaker patterns that keep the track rolling while remaining stripped back.

"Capsule” is the debut album from Modis, the new solo project of Argentinian producer Rafael Caivano (a.k.a. Frikstailers, a.k.a. Klik & Frik). The album will be released on Latinambient, the newly launched label curated by Populous. In this LP, Modis draws inspiration from some of the great unconventional classics of electronic music, from Mort Garson (Mother Earth’s Plantasia) to Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin’s most emotional work. Each song in Capsule opens a dialogue between past and present, moving through sounds that blur the line between the organic and the digital, the polished and the beautifully imperfect. The expressive sound of bamboo flutes and synthetic harps in the first half of the album carries you into the strangest Asian landscapes, and then the journey drifts toward places you can’t quite pin on a map. The album’s overall sound carries an almost tactile warmth, with woody textures and a deliberate layer of dust that makes it feel intimate and nostalgic. The release of Capsule will be preceded by a Populous remix, giving a dancefloor oriented twist to the album’s closing track. The artwork and the whole graphic concept was created by the Milan based artist and illustrator Alessandro Cripsta, by following Modis inspirations and landscapes. Animals On Psychedelics welcomes the Italian GNMR to the family for another psychedelic offering with the ' Love You EP'. A1 opening with the title track "I Love You" with a no nonsense tribalism, taking us stumbling through a muddy Peruvian forest trip - after loosing & finding our minds. A2 follows with the deep and introspectif "Sunrise Reprise". Slower broken drums guide, accompanied by moody groans and a nagging synth that weaves through the vines and trees. B1 "Bunda" returns to the tribalism for a gated giddy dance ritual - clatterings drums, stuttered chants and rhythmic movements. B2 rounds off the EP with "Constantinople From The Minaret". Cleverly programmed loose percussion and trippy chants, a chundering bass and a solid kick, the track progresses craftily and confidently, gradually arriving at a euphoric and climatic.

Electrosexual is the dark, mechanical and resolutely robotic project of Romain Frequency. The French artist, based in Berlin, joins the label with a single that explores and elevates the roots of New Beat, pushing them into a sharp, contemporary, club-oriented perspective. Every sonic element of the track is meticulously crafted. Textures are finely sculpted, rhythms precisely calibrated to establish a dense, hypnotic groove directly inspired by the aesthetics of the 90s. The atmosphere is nocturnal, carnal and magnetic — a sensual evocation of bodies merging on the dancefloor, moving until dawn without concern for tomorrow. A gradual trance takes hold, reference points dissolve, time disappears — only the beat remains. The first remix comes courtesy of Kiko, who delivers a more directly club-focused reinterpretation of the track. He injects a powerful Bass House energy, driven by a commanding and perfectly controlled bassline, designed for large sound systems. Sharp, finely detailed vocals and percussive elements heighten the tension and impact of a version built to ignite dancefloors. Akrav signs the second remix of the release. The Toulouse-based producer adds a darker, more cosmic dimension, rooted in an immersive techno aesthetic. The bass pulses with intensity, the sound turns massive and enveloping, drawing the listener into a hypnotic spiral that is unmistakably club-driven.

With Love My Dear is the first solo EP by Bastien Francoulon, aka Old Sedan. Conceived as a six-chapter ode to urban wanderings, the EP was entirely composed and produced by Old Sedan in his Belleville studio. The EP is meant to feel like a journey through an urban landscape. Between collective energy and moments of solitude the EP’s electronic music serves as both a driving force and a space for introspection. Across six tracks, listeners can hear all of Bastien’s influences, from ’90s/’00s house to more modern synth-pop. Between the glow of late afternoon and nocturnal drifts, Old Sedan develops a human, sensitive, and organic electronic sound that embraces both its club energy and its intimate side. Composer, multi-instrumentalist, and Bzzz Records artistic director Seb El Zin returns with "The Analog Mangrove", a five-track EP that blurs the boundaries between organic and digital worlds. Created over two years, this work combines minimal techno, psychedelia and tribal percussion to create a visceral sense of place – in El Zin’s swamp mangrove roots thrum with energy and machines corrupt in the humid air. El Zin (who previously released on Berlin-based label Thisbe) says he is “following in the footsteps of artists such as William Burroughs, J.G. Increasingly essential US artist Ben Hixon drops sublime deep house EP on Kai Alce's faultless NDATL Muzik. The six classy tracks will appeal to those who appreciate the subtleties of the classic Midwestern sound. Ben is a Texas-born, but Brooklyn-based artist who has become a firm favourite of true deep house heads in the last year or so. He has put out several EPs on Dolfin, all of which find a perfect sweet spot between immersive atmospheres and late-night drive. Dusty analogue textures and frayed edges define his drums, while the subtle details are intelligent and add effortless emotion. He is a perfect fit for NDATL Muzik, the Atlanta label that has long been a flagbearer for well-crafted house grooves like these. 'Taping' kicks off with heavy kicks that swing under gentle chords that are perfect for after dark. There's a persuasive bump in the beats that will get early evening dancers primed and ready for more. Next up we have 'Y Do U Get So Nervous' - a mastery of sampling with nagging vocal hooks, cascading piano keys and wet finger clicks all adding soul to another low-key but all-consuming groove. 'Area Code 336 Phone Rings' is a higgledy-piggledy tapestry of toms and stuttering kicks with vocal fragments to match - the thrill is the looseness of it all. The smouldering and meandering 'December Blackout' is for gazing off it into the distance at the busy yet muted jazz keys that twinkle like faraway stars. 'It's Like A Vision' picks up the pace with more closely stacked kicks but still oodles of cuddly warmth and smudged synth work, before '0823' ends with a decidedly heavy feel - spare, lump drums unfurl beneath forlorn synths that feel utterly bruised and heartbroken. Ben Hixon's deft artistry makes these quiet, texture tunes irresistibly danceable yet emotionally profound.

Enigmatic producer The Thunderkats returns to Reptile Mob with a fresh two-track EP, 'The Knockboots'.
