PREMIERE : Only Bee - Sembra Vero Feat. Thanksmate
Only Bee - Only Bee PRE-ORDER LINK : https://onlybee.bandcamp.com/album/only-bee Label: Soul Express Records (https://soundcloud.com/soul-express-collective) https://www.instagram.com/soulexpresscollective/ > Follow Only Bee: https://www.instagram.com/onlybee__/ > Follow `Thanksmate (https://soundcloud.com/thanksmate) https://www.instagram.com/_thanksmate_/ Blending vocal house, contemporary songwriting, Mediterranean groove and soul sensibility, Only Bee unveils her debut album: a project transforming club culture, emotional songwriting and Mediterranean identity into a sophisticated and deeply personal musical language. Set for release in late September / early October 2026 via Soul Express Records, “ONLY BEE” is the result of two years of artistic research developed within the creative ecosystem surrounding Soul Express and the contemporary Naples music scene. Behind the project is Italian singer and songwriter Beatrice De Cristofaro, originally from Southern Italy, who moved to Naples in 2024 searching for a more authentic and personal artistic space. Through the encounter with Whodamanny, Milord and the producers connected to Soul Express, the project naturally evolved through experimentation, collective songwriting and continuous sonic exploration.

PREMIERE : GuestWorlds - Heart Shaped Atoll
GuestWorlds - Rare Earth BUY LINK: https://guestworlds.bandcamp.com/album/rare-earth > Follow GuestWorlds (https://soundcloud.com/guestworlds) https://www.instagram.com/guest_worlds/ Label: Creaked (https://soundcloud.com/cloudcreaked) https://www.instagram.com/creakedrecords Based in Manchester, GuestWorlds returns with 'Rare Earth', a deeply immersive second chapter that expands the sonic language introduced on his 2023 self-released debut EP. Where that first release sketched the outlines of a new musical identity, this album builds a complete environment, rich in texture, rhythm and atmosphere. Described by its creator as a “dubbed-out ambient fantasia”, 'Rare Earth' moves from the outer limits of the atmosphere toward something more grounded and physical. Field recordings, found and foraged, dissolve into carefully constructed electronic spaces. Artificial and organic elements intertwine, giving the music both weight and lift. The album ventures further into rhythm than its predecessor. Irregular time signatures meet lush delayed ambience. Pulses emerge and recede. Structures feel fluid yet intentional. There is a sense of motion throughout, as if descending slowly through layers of air, foliage and soil. Opener “Canopy Interceptions" drifts in on breath-like tones, gradually lowering from open sky into the tree line. "Haiku" unfolds in 17/8, echoing the 5/7/5 metric of its poetic namesake, a dub fantasia where asymmetry becomes meditative. "Heart Shaped Atoll" and "Fata Morgana" deepen the album’s mirage-like quality, bending melody and perspective. "AROME", named after a trusted French meteorological model, suggests invisible systems shaping visible realities. The title track, "Rare Earth", closes the journey with a subterranean pulse in 9/4, evoking both an underground gathering and the uneasy beauty of a planet mined for its hidden elements. There are subtle nods to pioneers such as Steve Roach and Japanese New Age, as well as the hypnotic accompaniments found on national infrastructure infomercials. Yet 'Rare Earth' is not an homage. It is an inward-looking record, precise in detail and expansive in feeling. With 'Rare Earth', GuestWorlds refines his worldbuilding practice. Sound becomes landscape. Rhythm becomes architecture. The result is an album that feels both intimate and planetary, suspended between contemplation and movement.

PREMIERE : Ariadne's Labyrinth - Missing Daydream
Ariadne's Labyrinth - Endless Corners PRE-ORDER LINK: https://adepta.bandcamp.com/album/endless-corners Label: Adepta Editions (https://soundcloud.com/adepta) https://www.instagram.com/adepta_editions/ > Follow Ariadne's Labyrinth (https://soundcloud.com/ariadneslabyrinth) https://www.instagram.com/sharon_subbarao_music/ Some records are meticulously calculated in the cold confines of a studio, while others are breathed into existence through the raw energy of live performance. Ariadne’s Labyrinth undeniably belongs to the latter, arriving at Adepta Editions at a moment of peak creative maturity. As a classically trained pianist, violinist, and composer, her story is one of constant metamorphosis. Her path wound from years immersed in the London squat scene and illegal rave sound systems toward the fluid worlds of jazz, improvised music, and the rhythms of Cuba and Brazil. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, she ultimately turned to electronica, searching for textures and complex rhythmic structures impossible to replicate through traditional instrumental performance alone. Drawing deep inspiration from both the minimalism of Philip Glass and the pioneers of IDM, techno, and ambient, she has forged a highly distinct sonic language. Following acclaimed debuts on cult labels such as Detroit Underground (with her EP Lost and Founded) and Touched Music (Twists and Turns), alongside receiving crucial support from the Arts Council England for her EP Ridiom, she now presents Endless Corners. This release marks the natural evolution of Adepta Editions' AEX Series—the peripheral ecosystem where vanguard electronic figures like Pearl River Sound, Global Goon, Serge Geyzel, and Jon Murphy have already left their mark. In Endless Corners, Ariadne’s Labyrinth shapes a genuinely visceral experience. Born from the heat and urgency of live improvisation, the EP transforms her diverse musical lineage into a colossal sonic tapestry. Throughout this journey, the artist hypnotically intertwines the physical pulse of the subterranean dancefloor—built on dense, hypnotic rhythms born from her rave roots—with a profound, naked emotion that surfaces through detailed string arrangements and overwhelmingly beautiful melodies. By fusing these two worlds, Ariadne’s Labyrinth achieves a magnetic balance, bridging the heavy tension of authentic club culture with the delicate, vulnerable introspection of chamber music. It is a raw underground record, executed with genuine soul. crédits

PREMIERE : Erotonine - The Return of Dimitrios
Athanasios EP (House / Minimalist / Spoken) Diamonds raining from the sky. A plane to Buenos Aires. It was all meant to end the way it had begun: in love, with nothing but clear skies ahead. But that was only on paper. Then some two-bit Philip Marlowe had to stick his nose in and send the whole thing off the rails. What had they done to deserve the heavens coming crashing down on them? Living in sin? Maybe, maybe not. Like some romantic subplot from a bad eighties movie, Athanasios’s music seems almost tailor-made for the twists and turns, and could practically teach a masterclass in vice and virtue. Erotonine (n.) : A neurotransmitter secreted by the limbic system during sensual interactions, lingering gazes, or the sudden resurfacing of buried erotic memories. Erotonine flows between neurons like a soft caress, heightens skin sensitivity, amplifies the pulse of desire, and blurs the line between emotion and carnal pleasure. Released in microdoses during romantic tension or fleeting contact, it can flood the cortex when the imagination catches fire. Unlike dopamine, which seeks reward, or serotonin, which balances mood, erotonine feeds anticipation, gentle obsession, and delicious unrest. Some say an excess of erotonine can trigger lucid dreams with cryptically sensual content, while chronic deficiency might explain a certain kind of tactile melancholy. PREMIERE : Stones Taro - Doorkeeper
Faux Poly marks its 10th release of 2026 with a new EP from Stones Taro, the Kyoto-based DJ and producer known for his genre-blending approach to electronic music. Fusing elements of UKG, breakbeats, house, and jungle, Taro continues to build on his growing international reputation. A monthly resident on Rinse FM since 2024, Stones Taro has released on respected labels including Scuffed Recordings, Time Is Now, Hardline, and Future Classic. In 2025, his mix for Origins Tapes was recognised by Mixmag as one of the year’s best. The EP showcases four club-focused cuts that reflect both versatility and precision. ‘Silhouette’ and ‘Hold On, Math’ deliver bassline-driven UKG energy, balancing big-room 2-step rhythms with deeper dub-informed low-end. ‘Physics’ shifts into hypnotic, tech house territory, while closing track ‘Doorkeeper’ strips things back into a minimal dub framework, built on warm bass and echo-laden vocals. Words from Stones Taro: “These tracks are a modern reinterpretation of the classic 2-step, speed garage, and dubstep styles I’ve explored throughout my career. I approached the production with a focus on sonic texture and club functionality, making the process a very enjoyable creative exercise. For 'Physics' and 'Hold On, Math' specifically, I used Reaktor sound generators to craft otherworldly motifs that drive the tracks. I felt the finished sound was a perfect fit for Faux Poly, which led me to reach out to them.” ................................... soundcloud.com/fauxpoly instagram.com/fauxpoly soundcloud.com/stonestaro instagram.com/stonestaro

PREMIERE : Andy Ash - Jericho Theme
UK-based record label Sound Du Jour continues its run of eclectic electronic releases with its 11th outing, welcoming back Andy Ash for a two-track release titled Star, arriving September 4th. Founded and run by UK DJ and producer La Mano, Sound Du Jour has spent the past five years building a diverse catalogue that moves freely between electro, Italo, house, breaks and beyond. Since launching in 2021 with La Mano’s Tarvisio EP, the label has developed a distinctive identity centred around quality production, individual artistry and a willingness to explore different corners of electronic music. Its growing catalogue has welcomed artists including MAN2.0, Andy Ash, Marcus Christiansen, Gelato, Vyvyan, Tasteless Talk and Dharma, alongside remixes and contributions from names such as Man Power, PBR Streetgang, Venice Arms and Neil Diablo. Rather than adhering to a single sound, Sound Du Jour has established itself as a home for music that shares a common sense of character, experimentation and dancefloor intent. Continuing that ethos, Sound Du Jour now reaches its 11th release with the return of Andy Ash, whose new two-tracker Star delivers two productions that draw from classic electronic influences while retaining a contemporary club sensibility. The title track, Star, opens with a retro-inspired breakbeat and arpeggiated synth line before shifting into a driving four-to-the-floor groove, underpinned by a weighty acid bassline. As the arrangement develops, bright synths and atmospheric pads gradually expand the track’s sound, introducing flashes of euphoria before dropping back into its gritty, club-focused core. The track balances tension and release, bringing together vintage electronic textures with a distinctly modern dancefloor energy. On the flip, Jericho takes a more hypnotic approach, built around rolling basslines and sustained synths that gradually ratchet up the tension. As the track progresses, a hefty, gliding synth lead emerges, bringing a distinctly vintage electronic character to the production while maintaining the track’s relentless forward momentum. Together, Star and Jericho showcase the kind of eclectic, genre-fluid electronic music that has become central to the Sound Du Jour catalogue. Andy Ash’s latest contribution draws on the sounds of electronic music’s past while shaping them into two focused productions built for contemporary dancefloors. With an emphasis on distinctive artists, quality production and a willingness to move freely between genres, Sound Du Jour continues to build a catalogue that feels both eclectic and cohesive, establishing itself as a label with a clear identity and an open-minded approach to electronic music.

Inspired by astronomy, science fiction, and the quiet vastness of space, the EP unfolds like an unknown transmission from somewhere beyond reach. Shimmering textures, cavernous atmospheres, and piercing leads move through deep, dubby grooves, creating a sense of pressure suspended between movement and stillness. ‘Crater’ opens with a bouncy rolling groove and deep, eroded textures that feel carved into the landscape of an unknown planet. ‘Stardust’ follows, bringing a more emotional dimension, balancing celestial synth work with understated rhythmic propulsion. ‘Transmission’ then drifts between dubbed-out atmospheres and hypnotic repetition, gradually revealing fragments of melody like distant radio signals cutting through static. Berlin-based producers Delta Division & Silvers reinterpret ‘Crater’ with their 'Hallucinogenic Acid Mix', transforming the original into a darker, more focused interpretation. Leaning into tension, weight, and hypnotic repetition, the remix expands the EP’s sonic universe while remaining true to its atmospheric core. With Orbit EP, HAKEEM turns his gaze outward, using unfamiliar terrain to uncover a new dimension of his sound.

PREMIERE : Edmond Wells - Scar Reef
Scar Reef was made on Sumbawa in 2024 and carries some of that in-between feeling of being away, observing and moving through a place. It became a small reflection on distance, attention, and the things that stay with us after leaving a place. For the artwork, Gustav Kobus created a collage from photographs I took at a traditional buffalo race there, trying to capture some of the feeling and atmosphere of that time. A video version of the piece, showing Gustav painting the artwork as it unfolds, can also be seen on Bandcamp & YouTube. The EP closes with a collaborative rework of UFO by Stevie R & Parisinos and O.M., pushing the original transmission into new territory. Minimal, driving and cinematic, First Contact explores the moment where curiosity becomes connection.

PREMIERE : Baychimo - Surf
Woodland Creatures is pleased to present Personality Computer, the latest album from Danish producer Baychimo and the third release in the label’s 2026 Biome series. Each release in the series is paired with a distinct global ecosystem, with Personality Computer representing the California Chaparral and Woodlands biome. Baychimo, the alias of Danish producer and composer Frederik Meyer has spent over a decade crafting richly nostalgic electronic music that blends sophisticated rhythmic programming, lush synth textures, and psychedelic sound design. On Personality Computer, Meyer delivers a vibrant love letter to the dawn of the internet age, drawing inspiration from Windows ’95, early online culture, and the optimistic spirit of late 1990s and early 2000s IDM. Balancing widescreen grooves, shoegaze inflected atmospheres, jazz tinted melodies, and glitch fuelled club energy, the album captures the sense of discovery that defined the early days of personal computing. While steeped in nostalgia, Personality Computer remains firmly forward looking, showcasing Baychimo’s fluid approach to genre and sound design. From the gently disorienting opener “Terms of Service” to the immersive world building of 'Paint.exe' and '3D Maze,' the record unfolds as a richly detailed digital landscape. Highlights include the infectious “Chat Request,” the expansive “Surf,” and “Fisher Price PC,” featuring Danish pianist and composer Malthe Jepsen on bass and keyboards. WLC’s releases are often organised into thematic series, and the label’s 2026 cycle, Biome, sees each record paired with a distinct ecosystem from around the world. Personality Computer has been designated the California Chaparral and Woodlands biome, reflecting both its sun soaked West Coast sensibility and its conceptual ties to the San Francisco Bay Area, the home of Silicon Valley and many of the technologies that helped shape the modern online world. The result is a colourful, inventive, and deeply engaging work that celebrates a moment of technological optimism through Baychimo’s unmistakable sonic lens.

PREMIERE : Eliezer - Je Ne Sais Pas feat. Lola & Lou (Sara Zinger Remix)
Chicken Town Records is back with release number nine, and this time Eliezer is getting romantic — sort of. Je Ne Sais Pas is a funky French-pop love affair with a dirty disco pulse, seductive vocals from Lola & Lou, and just enough attitude to make it feel more like a late-night Parisian escape than a polite dinner date. The EP comes loaded with two very different mutations. French powerhouse Sara Zinger takes Je Ne Sais Pas into electro territory, adding sharper edges and serious rock attitude, while AckerMan slows things down and turns the track into a dreamy house trip made for the hours when the night starts getting blurry. Three versions, three moods, one very simple question: je ne sais pas… but are you dancing?

PREMIERE : Jah-Jo - Imperios Surgen y Caen
For Jah-Jo’s official second EP, he pivots from electro and ghetto house to craft a 4 piece journey expressing the collision of two key identities. Born in El Salvador but raised in Los Angeles, Jah-Jo was conditioned to tuck away his Latin heritage to fit in the American lifestyle. He quickly fell in love with club and techno forward music in the western world but felt the lack of his ancestral presence. ‘Salvaritmo’ is his first major effort to infuse his Salvadoran blood to the music he grew up embracing. The end result: a radiating techno project with dubby low-end and sensual, earthy synth lines all infused with the soul of cumbia, salsa and reggaeton. It is the merging of Jah-Jo’s newfound Salvadoran pride with ritmo [rhythm], whether that comes from Euro-American influence or Latin roots. 2 additonal tracks 'Entre la Niebla' and 'Salgo la Niebla' on CD only. crédits paraît le 28 août 2026

Over the past year, the band has been praised for channeling that intensity into one of their strongest records to date, while continuing to grow as a ferocious live act and fully independent project. The remix package expands that world through a wide-ranging cast of electronic artists, including KAVARI, Perel, Frazer Ray, Inhalt, Black Asteroid, Auragraph, Curses, Matrixxman, Normal Bias, A Thousand Mad Things, club.drippy, Babymajick, and Pixel Grip themselves. KAVARI’s take on “Noise” refracts the original through a harder, more fractured club lens, opening the campaign with a version that feels purpose-built for late-night rooms and electronic press.

Under his The Jaffa Kid moniker, the Newcastle-based producer has quietly shaped one of the most vast and fascinating discographies in contemporary British electronics, moving effortlessly between IDM nostalgia, raw acid, and deep ambient textures. For this exclusive 8-inch release, Adepta Editions brings together two distinct pieces that perfectly encapsulate the duality of his sound: catharsis and calm. Conceived between 2024 and 2025 during a period of profound personal crisis following the passing of his father, Xphor is an exercise in pure intuition. Echoing the raw energy of his previous track 'Do The Job', it was improvised and captured in a single take—a surge of unfiltered dynamics. Written entirely on a Nord Lead A1 accompanied by breakbeat samples, the track unfolds across two distinct movements that seamlessly interlock as visceral electronics in their purest form. On the flip side, the pulse shifts completely with Trigon. Written in 2026 while testing the waters of a newly acquired Korg Wavestate MkII, the track submerges itself in a lush Balearic, Mediterranean vibe. Guided by rich, comforting house/techno chords and an hypnotic 4/4 repetition, it flows with a more streamlined and sophisticated air, revealing Williams’ brighter, more elegant side. Two machines, two distinct states of mind, and an exceptional format. Pressed on an exclusive 8-inch vinyl at 45 RPM for maximum dynamic range and warmth, this release turns the physical rotation into an intimate, focused ritual. A piece of sonic craftsmanship tailored for both the club and the collection. crédits

On the A-side, Sometimes sets the tone with a deep and atmospheric feel. Built around rich, heavy chords inspired by early ’90s Chicago deep house, the track creates an immersive and introspective vibe perfect for easing into the journey. On the B1, Mirage unfolds through a hypnotic, repetitive melody that takes us straight to the Motor City. With its jazzy harmonies and deep chord progressions, it delivers a smooth yet captivating groove. Closing the EP, Wacid Sabi brings a rawer edge. Driven by gritty drums, crunchy hi-hats, and deep chords, the track balances rough textures with a late-night groove, making it a perfect weapon for after-hours moments.

The undergrowth pulses with its own logic, something small and insistent threading through the rot, alive before it has a name. A predatory slither runs through the closing stretch, stalking the low end through dense foliage until neither hunter nor hunted can tell the difference. Tropic Mud does not invite you in — it pulls you under, slowly, by the ankles.

PREMIERE : TBG & James Worker - Essence of House (Radio Edit)
QRUK023 - Essence of House EP BUY LINK: https://qruk.bandcamp.com/album/qruk023-essence-of-house-ep Label: QRUK (https://soundcloud.com/qruk) https://www.instagram.com/qruk_label/ https://www.qruk.co.uk/ > Follow TBG (https://soundcloud.com/tombeardmoreg) https://www.instagram.com/tbeardmoregray/ > Follow James Worker (https://soundcloud.com/jamesworker) https://www.instagram.com/jamesworkerr/ QRUK returns with its twenty-third release, the Essence of House EP, bringing together London-based producer TBG and Newcastle's James Worker for their long-awaited debut on the label. A collaboration we've been incredibly excited about from the very beginning, the EP generated strong early reactions throughout the promo process and quickly became one of those rare projects that felt special from the first listen. Opening the release is the title track, Essence of House, a joint production that pays homage to the golden era of Ibiza while embracing a modern sound. Built around uplifting house chords, timeless female vocals and crisp, skippy drum programming, it captures the energy and emotion of a golden era while remaining firmly rooted in today's dancefloors. TBG follows with On The Ropes, a darker and more driving track that blurs the lines between House and UK Garage. Rolling FM basslines, moody vocal hooks and techno-inspired melodic stabs create a track packed with peak-time energy. Closing the EP, James Worker delivers a deep and minimal remix of On The Ropes, stripping things back into a more spacious, groove-led roller. Rising pads, warm basslines and subtle rhythmic movement give the track an effortless beach club feel, providing the perfect contrast to the originals. Having previously worked together on other projects, Essence of House marks the first QRUK release from both artists, and if this EP is anything to go by, it certainly won't be the last.

PREMIERE : Adriano Rossi - Cowboys Are Consistent (Original Mix)
BUY LINK: https://circuitgrooves.bandcamp.com/ Label: Circuit Grooves (https://soundcloud.com/circuitgrooves) https://www.instagram.com/circuitgrooves/ > Follow Adriano Rossi (https://soundcloud.com/adrianorossi) https://www.instagram.com/adriano.mp3/ Adriano Rossi lands on Circuit Grooves with Aliens And Cowboys, a four-track release that leans into dusty breaks, oddball swing and low-slung leftfield bass pressure. There’s a playful looseness running through the EP, with Alien Squat setting the tone through baked rhythms and Sci-fi Funk touches, with a head-nod to Mr Oizo. Except their is nothing Flat about this beat. While Cowboys Are Consistent moves with a more sideways, deeper and more unhurried territory. The remixes stretch the material without losing its charm. Variable Self twists Alien Squat into a stranger, more elastic-dub shape while Slow Assembly takes Cowboys Are Consistent into a territory with a touch of the Big Beat about it. The result feels like a forgotten late-’90s Ninja Tune twelve-inch pulled from a dusty bag with all the strange, groovy and quietly addictive quality you would expect.

Together, Rush City, FYI Chris represent a vibrant connection between the underground scenes of Bogota and London, bringing their distinct musical identities to a release that seamlessly bridges indie dance, acid house, electro and contemporary UK club sounds. The result is a genre-blurring EP that reflects the shared spirit of two cities with deep-rooted dance music cultures and a commitment to pushing club music forward.

PREMIERE: KKD - Yellow Sky
KKD - In a secret room BUY LINK: https://rawculture.bandcamp.com/album/in-a-secret-room Label: Raw Culture (https://soundcloud.com/raw-culture-recordings) https://www.instagram.com/raw.culture.records/ Format: 250 limited 12”+ 50 limited edition with risograph fanzine In a Secret Room is a retrospective that reopens the sonic and visual archive of KKD, bringing back to light a trajectory that long remained underground within the history of Italian new wave. The tracks, recorded between 1979 and 1986, reflect a constantly evolving process shaped by experimentation, improvisation, and a drive toward new languages. The project takes shape inside a former hotel in Italy’s Po Valley, transformed into a studio, rehearsal space, and visual lab. Here, among analog synthesizers, homemade electronics, and multitrack recorders, Kriminal Killer Division experimented with and pushed their available technology to its limits, developing a hybrid language: sounds captured from radio and the street, synthetic voices, guitars, and electronic sequences intertwine in compositions that move between art rock, minimal wave, and more industrial directions. This collection aims precisely to reactivate that imaginary. The vinyl is accompanied by a risograph fanzine that restores the project’s visual dimension: collages, photographs, and graphic materials reflecting the same experimental attitude found in the recordings. Sound and image move together, as parts of a single expressive device. In a Secret Room offers access to a hidden space where interference, noise, and intuition take form without mediation. Not a nostalgic operation, but a re-emergence: a living archive that continues to generate meaning in the present. Credits: Music by KKD — Loris Barbi, Alessandro Molinari, Guido Molinari, Giancarlo Vitali. All tracks were recorded between 1979 and 1986. Sergio Gavioli plays bass on “Underworld”. “I Need Help” appears on Stars Behind the Sun, Synthetic Shadows, 2015. “And Your Mind” appears on First Relation, Mask Production, 1983. Compiled by Asymmetrical. Mastered at Sensorium. Graphic design by Roberto Lenza. Raw Culture, Rome 2026. RWCLTR031

Each track references a certain place, balancing hypnotic rhythms and warm progressive basslines with melodic depth. The A-side begins through whimsical waves of myths and whispers. A1 ‘Deux Mille’ serves as the perfect pacemaker of the record. It’s punchy as it escalates while maintaining its dreamy approach throughout as it builds up emotion. A2 ‘Meet U There’ is an otherworldly journey. Infused in deep and warm kicks - ruthlessly progressive with touches of drummy percussions, rumble, and atmospheric textures. Side B bends into new shapes. Opening up with B1 ‘Dip Diva Baths Sanctuary,’ a masterclass of shaking rhythm. Hypnotic start, dub sounds and spacey synth lines moving in the background. The track moves forward while pushing backwards. Fast, yet soft. B2 ‘Köllnische Heide’ wraps up the EP with precision. Think of it as a modern touch to tribal elements and funky ripples. PREMIERE : Tigerbalm - Do Da Soca
Four years on from the release of her acclaimed debut solo album, International Love Affair, Tigerbalm returns to Ubiquity Recordings with the thrillingly impressive and kaleidoscopic ‘Bubblegum Discos’. Real name Rose Robinson, has been busy, popping up on Razor-N-Tape, Wonderwheel Recordings, Music For Dreams and 2020 Vision’s Crazy P Curates series. Even so, ‘Bubblegum Discos’ delivers a refreshed, finessed and bolder evolution of her trademark global-infused nu-disco sound. Reflective of a new-found confidence in her own creative credentials and a desire to work with a vast array of hand-picked musicians and vocalists, the album strengthens and clarifies Tigerbalm’s signature sound, delivering a vibrant musical vision rendered in high definition. Seemingly painted in even more vivid and sonic colours, with 21st century tropical disco songs prioritised over club-focused instrumentals, ‘Bubblegum Discos’ is a set designed and structured to showcase interpretations of two of her most cherished musical inspirations – Brazilian musical culture, and vintage dancefloor workouts from the African continent – infused with nods to Italo-disco, proto-house, Soca and the fusion work of Jasper Van’t Hof. The first half of the album leans into Tigerbalm’s South American influences: ‘Nayar’ is a lightly reggaeton-inspired nu-disco excursion crafted alongside Napoli scene stalwart Giorgio Lopez. Bright, breezy and dancefloor-ready, it’s followed by the Clavinet-sporting Brazilian disco rush of ‘Diga Me’, where regular vocalist Joy Tyson ¬sings in Portuguese above an infectious backing track co-produced by Michele Charivarini. The Italian multi-instrumentalist lends a hand, too, on the sun-soaked samba-disco colour of ‘Vera En Paraty’, a brilliantly breezy and life-affirming affair fronted by vocalist Melodie Correira. Robinson delivers her first ever lead vocal on the partly improvised ‘Coco Makako’, a synth-heavy slab of South American neo-boogie/proto-house fusion featuring guitar and keys from Crazy P’s Jim Baron. The album then turns towards the African continent, with additional guest vocalists and collaborators stepping up to join the fun. Chief amongst these is sometime Afriquoi performer Andre Espeut. He first makes is presence felt on two tracks: recent single ‘Pura Vida’, where he delivers lyrics in Lingala that are full of hope, love and inspiration, before returning for percussion-rich closer ‘Conga’, a thrillingly heavyweight fusion of Afro-centric disco rhythms, weighty dub disco bass and far-sighted flashes of synthesised colour. Sandwiched in between you’ll find two of the album’s undoubted highlights: Tigerbalm joins forces with Montreal-based Haitian vocalist and musical fusionist Waahli on ‘Do Da Soca’, a hybrid central American/South American disco workout rich in heady horn arrangements and impeccable musical flourishes from the returning Michele Charivarini. Then there’s ‘Afro-Disco’ with popular Afro-house and Afrobeats vocalist Idd Aziz, a body-popping-friendly workout that re-frames early NYC electro and 80s Hugh Masekela jams for a 21st century nu-disco audience.

PREMIERE : Gryph - Dangereuse (feat. Dina Moursi)
Following the solid showing of global love and support for the collective Point Winona Sound Library Vol 1, LA’s Elbow Grease label runs it back with a sultry summer scene LP entry from one of the compilation’s most promising new talents. Nashville-born/LA-bred Michael Griffin aka Gryph’s aptly titled debut album ‘Nash Angeles’ is a rare and refreshing example of true musical worlds colliding, that never loses focus of keeping the big fun in funky. The Tennessee-raised rock and blues guitarist/singer-songwriter’s newfound passion for dance music roots and devotion to the sonic feels of his current Cali home base are on full display here. Along with the studio-ace touches of co-producer Dave Aju and a cast of brilliant feature vocalists and live session musicians, the LP offers up only the most adventurous twists on contemporary genre fusion - from disco to dub, modern soul to post-punk Italo to R&B, and jazz-funk to classic house music, all while firing loved-up arrows straight through the hearts of any dance floors or fellow party animals, just in time for open-air BBQ season. Influences stretch from the Mizell Brothers and spiritual jazz to yacht rock, disco, deep house and The Doors, while electronic textures intertwine naturally with live instrumentation and sharp songwriting across nine richly musical tracks. Following a dreamlike harp-led intro, ‘Summer Nights’ glides forward on thick basslines, swinging drums and laidback vocal charm. ‘Body Body’ leans deeper into the club with dubby rhythms, jazz-inflected piano lines and a soaring topline, while ‘Gotcha Love’ ft Shirtz channels glossy nu-disco energy with irresistible funk undertones. Elsewhere, Dina Moursi brings luminous soul to ‘Dangereuse’, while ‘St Barts’ delivers a warm mid-tempo house groove rich in romantic pads and melodic guitar flourishes, and ‘Feeling It’ ft Masho pairs bright string stabs with an emotionally rich vocal performance. As the album unfolds, Gryph continues to blur the line between songwriter craftsmanship and dance-floor hypnosis. ‘Pierce’ drifts into deep, star-lit house territory, while closing track ‘Dr John’ folds spiritual jazz sax lines into lush broken beats for a beautifully understated finale.
