PWP 53: "The Bible is Nothing" by Isaac Simmons

In today's episode we talk in depth about the candidate for ministry within the Methodist church, Isaac Simmons, and their drag persona, Ms. Penny Cost. In particular the controversy that arose from their slam poem, "The Bible is Nothing." We dig into a lot of stuff, so if you are dealing with religious trauma, this might be a tough one. We are full of support and love for what Isaac has said and done, and we hope they continue forward with their ministries!Editor's note: The caption of "The Bible of Nothing" video says that "it is directed to those who actively and passively cause harm against the LGBTQIA2S+ Community due to their understandings of Scripture." Had we recognized this before the recording, we might have had a slightly different discussion.
