Radio Novo News for Lewistown:  June 23, 2025For all you hearty eaters, check this out:  A qualifying event for Nathan's Famous Fourth of July hotdog eating contest, held Saturday at Hersheypark, saw Monroe County's own, George "the Smorgasbord" Chiger wolf down 26 hot dogs and buns to win the event and secure his place on the stage at Coney Island on Independence Day.  But Chiger, who is currently ranked 15th in the world of professional eaters, has a long way to go to win the 4th of July event.  Last year, Patrick Bertoletti consumed 58 hot dogs and buns for the win.  In the women's contest at Hershey Saturday, Camille O'brien ate 8.5 hot dogs and buns. Last year's winner at Coney Island, the legendary female eater, Miki Sudo ate 51 hot dogs and buns. Nathan's Famous has been holding their 4th of July hotdog eating contest since 1972.
