Here’s the complete playlist: Segment 1: SamsMarch 13 was Uncle Sam Day! On that day back in 1852, the New York “Lantern” newspaper published an Uncle Sam cartoon for the first time. So here, are some songs about some other sam’s. In response Charles C. Boycott suddenly found himself unable to keep his servants or even to buy food. So, for all the landlords and tenants out there, we’ve got some songs about rent. House Rent Rag – Dixieland Jug Blowers Raising the Rent – Ramona and Roy Bargy House Rent Party Day – Harlem Hot Shots Segment 3: EarsMr. Greenwood’s ears must have gotten cold during the winter of 1877, for it was on March 13 of that year that Chester Greenwood received a patent for….the earmuff.
