Here’s the complete playlist: Segment 1: CansOctober 23 was marked the birth in 1750 of Nicolas Appert in Chalons-Sur-Marne, France. In 1795, the French government offered a price of 12,000 francs for a method of preserving food. Appert, already an experienced chef, got to work at his shop near Paris and developed his method, which involved cooking foods in corked jars. So here to commemorate Nicolas Appert are a couple of songs about cans.
