On this evening’s show, we’ve got some “good things”, we’re going to celebrate the birth of Louis Armstrong, and we’ll have some songs about Dr. Benjamin Ordway. Enjoy the show! Here’s the complete playlist: Segment 1: Fifth AveAugust 2 in 1824, one of the most famous thoroughfares in the world, Fifth Avenue in New York city was opened. So here is a song in commemoration of that event. The Lady from Fifth Avenue – Hod Williams AHO Segment 2: AstronomicalAugust 1, marked the birth in 1818 in Massachusetts of Maria Mitchell, who was the first acknowledged female astronomer in the United States. She discovered a comet in 1847, became the first woman member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, in 1948, and was professor of astronomy at Vassar from 1865 to 1888. So here in honor of Maria Mitchell, are some astronomical songs. The show’s main character was Dr. Benjamin Ordway, who used to be a criminal, but who got hit on the head, developed amnesia, and suddenly began to work as a crime fighter. Since Dr. Ordway had amnesia, we’ve got some songs about forgetting. So here in honor of Martha Stewart, are some “good things”.
