Lionel Hampton was one of, if not the, last surviving musicians to have recorded during the acoustic era, before microphones and electrical amplification. Olsen Tomorrow is Another Day – George Hall AHO Segment 5: BeautifulSeptember 7 in 1921 the first Miss America Pageant was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, as a promotion to keep tourists in the resort town after the Labor Day holiday.
