Life of John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough by Louise Creighton Loyal Books John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough , was the oldest surviving son of Sir Winston Churchill, an impoverished country gentleman. After the restoration of Charles II, John's sister, Arabella, became the mistress of the King's brother, James, Duke of York. The family fortunes were made and Churchill's military career launched. In the winter of 1677-78, Churchill married Sarah Jennings, the intimate friend of the future Queen Anne. Ruthlessly changing sides during the Glorious Revolution, he deserted his patron James and joined the army of William of Orange. Marlborough's brilliant generalship in the War of the Spanish Succession destroyed the myth of French military invincibility and won him the adoration of the British people. But Marlborough fell from power when his wife's relationship with Queen Anne ended rancorously and when the peace-loving Tories ousted his wartime supporters, the Whigs. - Summary by Pamela Nagami, M.D. Bio 360 - Zurück ins Leben | Energie und Gesundheit Unkas Gemmeker | Gesundheitsbotschafter, Autor und Coach Bio 360 ist einer der erfolgreichsten, deutschsprachigen Podcasts zu den Themen Gesundheit, Ernährung, Fitness, Motivation, Paleo, Fokus, HIIT, intermittierendes Fasten, Stress, Schlaf, Low Carb, ketogene Ernährung, EMF, Atemtechniken, Superfoods, Nootropika, sowie alles rund um Biohacking und alternative Medizin. How on Earth then did Aneurin (Nye) Bevan & his team create the NHS when he couldn’t even tell his chancellor how much it would cost? And why did the Tories, doctors, and even Nye’s own party battle against him? To celebrate 75 years of the NHS, all is explained in this 4-part documentary series of how a ‘no-good boyo’ from the Welsh Valleys came to create one of Britain’s greatest institutions. Narrated by Sian Harries.
