S1, E9: Political Civility, Social Media & Education In Politics, Public Figures & Antics + More!

In the second to last episode of season 1 of "The Haleakalan" podcast, we decided to change things up a little bit. We brought on two people who weren't regular members of the podcast to talk about the current state of political civility. What is a healthy way to disagree with someone while remaining civil? Two people on opposing sides of the spectrum being on the podcast, we thought would be extremely interesting and spur intriguing conversations. Some alternate things we discussed were the riots stemming from the Black Lives Matter protests and how social media is in conjunction with politics. How counter productive is it for politics in general when one side of the debate is simply unwilling to listen to the opposing side? How do celebrity endorsements tie into separating artists from the antics? We also touched a little on privacy and censorship, but stay tuned for season 2 to get the full episode on that.
