Sejarah Reforma Agraria dan Kemelut Kedaulatan Tanah di Yogyakarta bersama Ahmad Nashih Luthfi & Pitra Hutomo

from Sounds For Sovereignty · host Struggles For Sovereignty

Selamat mendengarkan!   Seri "Sounds For Sovereignty" merupakan bagian dari program "The World is Our Household!". (EN) In May 2021, art practitioner and activist Pitra Hutomo and agriculture historian Ahmad Nashih Luthfi came together to discuss the history and current-day realities of agrarian reform and land sovereignty conflicts in Yogyakarta. This episode explores why agrarian reform policies, which aim to create justice-based social welfare, are absent in everyday life, as they continue to favour the political elite, particularly in Yogyakarta. Pitra and Luthfi also share their thoughts on how grassroots movements’ continued fight for food sovereignty expanded during the pandemic crisis into a broader civic solidarity movement and communal living spaces.  This conversation was recorded in Indonesian. English and Indonesian transcripts will be shared on our website very soon! Don’t forget to visit our website, or go straight to Spotify. Happy listening!   "Sounds for Sovereignty" is part of our current program, "The World is Our Household!".

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
