今回は、栃木県那須塩原市にある荒井牧場の荒井康裕さんからメッセージが届きました。おじいさまの代で牛を飼い始め、酪農を営むようになったのはお父様の代から。酪農系の大学を出て、民間企業で2年間勤務した後、就農し2代目を継承した康裕さん。つなぎ牛舎とフリーバーンを併用し長命連産への取り組み、那須塩原ブランド認定品となっている「パスチャライズド牛乳」の特徴、地域の稲作農家の方々との耕畜連携などについて語られていました。またスタジオには、農政ジャーナリストの伊本克宜さんをお迎えしました。酪農危機ともいえる状況が続いている現状と背景、貿易の自由化による問題点、先進国における日本の食糧自給率の低さ、国産の必要性、持続可能な経営のために必要なこと、変化したスーパーでの牛乳コーナーの理由、「みどりの食料システム戦略」(略:みどり戦略)の内容などについて教えて頂きました。伊本さんには、次回10/13も出演して頂きます。
