Should You Use A Teleprompter When Creating A Video? Today on the podcast, Kyle Draper joins in to duke it out with Jeff over the use of teleprompters. Should you use a teleprompter when going live or recorded on Social Media or just be more authentic and just go in and see how it goes? Tune in for the full battle.   Episode Highlights:  Kyle starts with his opening points about teleprompters and the fault that he sees in them. Can using a teleprompter make you look like a robot?  Jeff is a huge fan of using a teleprompter. He explains why. Many things are so eloquent in our heads and then once you hit record, you freeze. There is a correct way to use a teleprompter. Jeff says for him, it makes it more eloquent, concise, and effective.  Kyle talks about how many people don’t resemble themselves and  don’t convey what they hope to. Jeff talks about how sometimes ‘natural’ can sound worse than a scripted teleprompter depending on the presentation. Prompt Smart Pro is voice activated; It generates the script for the words that you input and it will scroll on your screen with the cadence of your voice and a timer. Kyle talks about how most people are not wired to do multiple things well. When he watches people reading teleprompters, they lose facial expression, they lose inflection in their voice, and they lose intentional pauses.  TikTok has changed the way people do marketing. What about the time limits and the ‘Shorter the better’ for keeping attention?   Kyle advises, “Stop focusing on being an influencer on Social Media when you are a Realtor.” He says especially when it is at the cost of your authentic personality that people love you for. Perfect isn’t relatable. Kyle says that relatable people have a greater ability to help Others.  Jeff talks about circumstance where he would not use a teleprompter versus where it plays a huge role in coming across as a professional. Nobody has enough time. Writing scripts takes time. Kyle’s personality is very witty and he is great on the fly. He wants the pressure. When he tries to write out scripts, he feels like he sucks. Jeff talks about how he used to riff and how teleprompters came into play with his Strategy. He now batch scripts and then batch shoots. You’re not going to get good at anything if you don’t practice. You also have to find what works for you. Find your mental discipline to overcome and learn new tricks.
