Afrocentric Records / AR00025 https://soundcloud.com/werafrocentric https://www.facebook.com/afrocentricrecords/ http://www.werafrocentric.com/ https://www.facebook.com/skaiva.sibbs Unique flavors of dance music always pop up on Afrocentric Records, and the newest release from Skavia and MJ Sings is no exception. They, along with other talented producers hopping on remixes, combine their efforts to craft “Tshisa,” one of the most vibrant and experimental entries on Afrocentric to date. This brand new maxi-single is sure to challenge and elevate the Afro house scene. Across the duration of “Tshisa” (which contains four versions) you will hear the worlds of Afropop, Afro house, R&B, avant pop, techno, and trip hop are fused together Original mix and its instrumental dub bear the classic Afro house elements - deep moody chords, rich drum loops, bold analog synths all over the beat. MJ Sings’s vocal performance brings everything to a wild new level, the midenergy chorus directly contrasting MJ’s unbridled belting in the final leg of the Kates Le Cafe - “Magandula” (Single) track. As for the producer-created remixes of “Tshisa,” Conway Kasey’s mix is the brightest and bounciest of the bunch and sounds like what would happen if the PC Music camp made a house pop banger. Benny T takes it in the opposite direction, bringing an ultra-dark vibe. Make no mistake - this brand new maxi-single is sure to challenge and elevate the Afro house scene. Tracklist 1. Afrocentric. Morgan Gray Mission: To redefine and expand the understanding of Afrocentrism by illuminating the deeper, often untold histories and lived experiences of the Black Aboriginal peoples of North America—those later labeled as African American. The podcast bridges these truths with the ancestral narratives of Africa, South America, and the Caribbean, fostering a renewed global appreciation for Black heritage, resilience, and cultural continuity. Purpose: This podcast exists to challenge limited historical frameworks, such as the dominant 1619 narrative, by restoring depth, dignity, and context to the story of the original dark-skinned, swarthy peoples of the Americas. Through dialogue, storytelling, and scholarship, it seeks to empower listeners to see the continuum between ancient ancestry, contemporary identity, and future potential.
