die essener songtage 1968 markieren die geburtsstunde einer eigenständigen deutschen (rock)musik, die sich von angloamerikanischen vorbildern löste und die zerschüttete kreativität in der eigenen westrepublik spielerisch dem staub von tausend jahren entbarg. zwar gab es auch vorher schon zu klanglaboren umgewidmete keller und garagen (hier sei nochmals der hinweis auf das prae-kraut pandaemonium eingewoben), doch erst 1968 in essen wurde die neue musik auch einer breiteren öffentlichkeit offenbar. neben linksradikalen barden & biederen beat-bands, neben den mothers of invention und den fugs spielten guru guru groove, xhol caravan, tangerine dream und amon düül. wohlgemerkt: nicht amon düül II, die sich erst 1969 metastatisch wuchernd von der originalkommune abspalteten, sondern die echten, ursprünglichen amon düül: peter leopold, ullrich leopold, rainer bauer, ella bauer, uschi obermaier, helge filanda und angelica filanda (reihenfolge und schreibweisen wurden von der auf basf erschienenen doppel-lp disaster übernommen; amon düül I übrigens gab es nie: diese bezeichnung ist ein lexikalisches missverständnis). die bühne in essen rockten neben den genannten noch diverse kinder und kinderinnen, freunde, verwandte und zwei hunde. zu hören sind 16 sekunden dieser guerillaperformance: der reine klang ohne ansagen, off-kommentar oder weitere bearbeitung. |>> amon düül - 16 seconds essener songtage live 1968 raw power
