Thank you, Stephanie Sampson, for joining me again on my Born To Talk Radio Show Podcast.  Stephanie is the Director of Communications for Los Angeles International Airport LAXLandside Access Modernization Program, LAMP.

Let’s Take a Closer Look.

Automated People Mover.   APM.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Now & 2023.

When completed, these electric trains will improve access in and out of LAX.  They will make 3 stops inside the Central Terminal and outside the Central Terminal area along the way. In total there will be 44  fully electric cars running on the train tracks elevated between 55-60 feet in the air.  There will be pedestrian bridges that will connect from the terminals to the off-site locations running every 2 minutes. Completion is scheduled to open for passenger service in 2023. And, besides all the conveniences and easy access, it will be FREE to all users.

Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility.  ConRac.

Now & 2023.

Scheduled to open in 2023, the ConRac Facility will provide a direct connection to LAX’s Automated People Mover. This is the largest concrete structure in the country, behind the Pentagon building! It is a staggering 6.4 million square foot facility, making it the largest in the world.  There will no longer be the need for rental car shuttles, eliminating over 3,200 trips on the surrounding streets and into and out of the Central Terminal.

Intermodal Transportation Facility.  ITF-West.

Now &  2021.

The four-story parking structure, with 4,300 stalls will be the first component of LAX’s $5.5 billion LAMP to be completed. It is scheduled to open in 2021.  The facility will provide drop-off/pick-up locations and short and long-term parking options.  Once completed, it will be more than just a parking structure – it will be the new front door to LAX – with an express link to the terminal area via the Automated People Mover (APM) train, which will open in 2023.

Flying Today.
