Diesen Mittwoch will Unionskanzlerkandidat Friedrich Merz ernst machen. Im Bundestag will er seine angekündigten Anträge für eine schärfere Migrations- und Sicherheitspolitik einbringen. Geplant sind zwei Entschließungsanträge: Der erste enthält einen Fünf-Punkte-Plan "für sichere Grenzen und das Ende der illegalen Migration", der zweite insgesamt 27 Punkte mit Sofortmaßnahmen "für eine wirksame Stärkung der Inneren Sicherheit und zur Beendigung der illegalen Einwanderung".  Fabian Reinbold ist politischer Korrespondent von ZEIT ONLINE. Im Podcast ordnet er ein, was konkret in den Anträgen steht, die die Union in den Bundestag einbringen will – und ob die AfD wohl für die Anträge stimmen wird. Das chinesische Start-up DeepSeek ist gerade dabei, KI-Marktführern wie OpenAI ernsthafte Konkurrenz zu machen. DeepSeek ist seit einigen Tagen auf Platz eins der Apple-App-Store-Charts. Das Sprachmodell R1, das hinter der KI steht, soll ähnlich leistungsstark sein wie das Premium-Modell von ChatGPT – ist aber kostenlos und offenbar auch deutlich effizienter. Im Gegensatz zu den KI-Modellen war R1 in der Entwicklung wohl wesentlich kostengünstiger. Jakob von Lindern ist der stellvertretende Leiter des Digitalressorts bei ZEIT ONLINE.
