The Prom
from Queerly Popular · host Mychel Vandover
Today's episode is about the 2020 Netflix film The Prom which is based off of a musical, which is based off of a real life event. It's a lovely, lovely film that I really love and enjoy about the trauma a young lesbian undergoes at the hands of homophobes and "allies" who don't really care about the person they are trying to help. Except for one thing that I will go on a bit of a rant about (10-15 minute long, so longer than a bit, I guess). I have seen this movie several times and would really encourage you to watch it if you have the chance. Here are a few of my favorite songs: Unruly Heart Zazz It's Time to Dance It's Not About Me And here is the link to the Glamour article about Red, White, & Royal Blue.
