The Rock at Wrestlemania 40?

from Oh, Wrestling Podcast!

So The Rock teased a match with a certain Bloodline member at Wrestlemania 40 seven months before the show. Is that a good thing? We discuss in todays episode. Wrestlemania 40 plans with The Great One? Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, one of the biggest stars in WWE history, is rumored to be wrestling at WrestleMania 40 in 2024. The event will take place on April 6-7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Rock hasn’t wrestled a match in WWE since WrestleMania 32 in 2016. Remember when he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds, setting the record for the shortest match in ‘mania history? Yea, me neither. But it happened, and since then the Brauma Bull has been in the Hollywood spotlight, instead of WWE’s. However, in a recent interview with Pat McAfee, The Rock teased the possibility of wrestling at WrestleMania 40, saying that he is “open” to the idea. He also noted that there is “potential” for it to happen. All of this after dropping the bombshell that he almost wrestled at Wrestlemania 39 against the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns! At WrestleMania 39, The Rock was originally scheduled to face Reigns in the main event. However, The Rock had to back out of the match due to scheduling conflicts. If The Rock does wrestle at WrestleMania 40, it is likely that he will face his cousin Roman. Reigns is currently the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, and is involved in a long-running feud with Main Event Jey Uso. A match between The Rock and Reigns would be one of the biggest dream matches in recent WWE history. They are two of the most popular and successful wrestlers of all time, and family to boot. The Bloodline thickens This means that a match between The Rock and Reigns at WrestleMania 40 would be a highly anticipated event. Also a potential end to the long-running Bloodline storyline WWE has benefited from for the past 3 years. It would be a chance for the two men to tear down Wrestlemania, and a chance for The Rock to knab himself another WWE Championship. While there is the possibility that The Rock could face a different opponent at WrestleMania 40, include Brock Lesnar, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins. A match between The Rock and Reigns is the most likely scenario, and we all know it. It is the match that the fans want to see, and it is the match that WWE would want to promote. WrestleMania 40 is shaping up to be one of the biggest WrestleMania events in history. With the potential of The Rock wrestling on the show, it is sure to be a night to remember.
