In this radio, I will introduce how to express the existence of something or someone. There are two expressions to describe the existence depending on animacy. For non-living thing, you use あります For living thing, you use います <Example Sentences> あそこ に がっこう が あります。 There is a school over there. * school is a non-living thins, so you use あります あそこ に わたし の はは が います。 There is my mother over there. * mother is living thing, so you use います おかね が ありません。 I don't have money. じかん が ありません。 I don't have time. あした おまつり が あります。 There will be a festival tomorrow.
