Welcome to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center Podcast! We meet Zelda, an 18-year-old Eastern box turtle with a unique shell deformity and learn about her story and life at the Science Center. The conversation also highlights the hatchling head start program for diamondback terrapins and the critical conservation efforts to protect these species from road hazards on Highway 80. Additionally, the importance of recognizing and protecting the gopher tortoise, Georgia's state reptile, is discussed.
