Waarom mist een waterschildpad echt (letterlijk!) nooit zijn prooi?

Er is één dier dat zijn prooi nooit mist. Niet "bijna nooit", maar echt letterlijk nooit! Zodra de langnekslangenhalsschildpad beslist dat hij die ene voorbijzwemmende vis, kikker of kreeft wil oppeuzelen, komt die vis, kikker of kreeft zijn mond ingezwemmen. En dat is niet omdat deze schildpad sneller, sterker of alerter is dan alle andere dieren, het is gewoon een kwestie van fysica en biomechanica.
