What does your road to success look like? Is it straight and narrow? A smooth and easy drive where your car can coast on cruise control? Or is it like Erin’s road: long, winding, and full of potholes, construction, and roadblocks? Don’t be afraid of those roadblocks, and don’t worry if you haven’t finished your journey. Ultimately you will still get to the place you are supposed to be. It just might be different than what you had originally imagined—perhaps even better. And you will arrive at your destination a stronger person than you would have been had you never encountered those hardships. Dr. Erin L. Kelley is a professor, speaker, author, and advocate for women’s rights. Erin enjoys writing and speaking to groups about a variety of topics, including finding success through sorrow, overcoming fears and struggles, transforming blame into bravery, and becoming your best self. Her TEDx Talk, “How Law Stigmatizes Rape Victims,” also embodies Erin’s specialty topics such as sexual assault awareness, violence against women, and gender equality. Traces of the White Rose Oxford University Munich, 1942. War rages across Europe. After nearly a decade of Nazi rule, Hitler is at the height of his power. Any form of opposition is unimaginably dangerous. Anyone who dares to oppose the regime risks imprisonment, deportation, and even death. To stand up and speak out would take incredible strength and courage. There were some willing to take that risk.Brought to you by SANSARA and the White Rose Project, Traces of the White Rose is a podcast series telling the story of the White Rose resistance: five students and a professor who stood up to Nazism and paid with their lives. Through newly-translated letters, diaries and resistance pamphlets, hosts Tom Herring and Dr Alexandra Lloyd trace the story of the White Rose resisters in their own words, alongside powerful and moving choral music by English and German composers from SANSARA’s acclaimed album 'Traces'.The series was made with support from the University of Oxford’s Public Engagement with Research Seed Fund, The Oxford Bullying!
