Vergangene Woche Mittwoch stürzte das Militär in Niger die demokratisch gewählte Regierung von Mohamed Bazoum. Am darauffolgenden Freitag erklärte sich General Abdourahamane Tchiani, bis dahin Anführer einer Eliteeinheit zum Schutz des Präsidenten, zum neuen Machthaber. Was über Tchiani bekannt ist, welche politischen Absichten der Soldat verfolgt und welchen Rückhalt er in Niger genießt, weiß Issio Ehrich. Doch nun sorgt eine Äußerung des außenpolitischen Beraters von Polens Präsident Andrzej Duda, Marcin Przydacz, für Spannungen: Am Montagabend hatte er im Fernsehen das Importverbot für Getreide und andere Lebensmittel aus der Ukraine verteidigt und mehr Dankbarkeit des Landes gefordert.
