Welcome to, "When I knew" presented by Dicks & Politics. This is a monthly special edition episode we release in tandem with our weekly episodes on Wednesday. "When I knew" features exclusive interviews with our listeners who have overcome tremendous challenges and how they are working to move forward. Our inaugural episode is with Samantha's best and oldest friend, Page who is an addict and an alcoholic celebrating three years of sobriety in February. Samantha and Page take you through their friendship in chronological order and explore Page's struggle with addiction and how it impacted their friendship for better and for worse. These segments in general are explicit and because this deals with drug use, it may not be suitable for young children. We do hope our listeners will join us with an open mind and find something worthwhile in stepping into someone else shoes for a bit. TORN Steve Dailey There were times when I was dealing with an identity crisis. During the week, I was on the job doing buy and bust but on Sunday, in the Lord's house. I knew who I was supposed to be but there was a war raging inside of me. There was a conflict between the two. It was as if they were fighting over me. God in my heart but the hunger of my job catching the bad guys was always calling me. Blessings and curses were coming out of the same mouth. I liked one more then the other but I knew the other was not good for me. My family didn't know who I really was. I went to sleep as one person and woke up as another. I became too good at turning off the right one and turning on the wrong one. Was I Pastor Steve or Stevie Gunz? Both hated the other. I was T O R N. Hey Google Podcast Nick Abregu What started off as a business podcast quickly turned into something so much more. When I realised that business owners have a certain special quality that makes them unemployable, unmovable and determined like hell, I knew finding out what their lives were all about, how they got to this point, what mischief led them to this life, that's what this podcast became!
