I’ve been here over 24 hours and man, that’s nice. It’s funny how quickly you can settle into a place. Right now I’m watching three huge pelicans, ride the surf. They’re not really riding the surf, but I think they are because what they do is they fly about six inches above the surface of the water. And then when they get to a wave, they just kind of surf it like a surfer might. They don’t touch it, but they definitely get in the wave. And maybe there’s a little poof of air. [1:02] That they like. And here comes one, two, three, four, five, six more of them doing the exact same thing. I’m pretty sure these are brown pelicans and I’m, pretty sure they all do it and it’s so cool to watch. Almost as cool as when you see one of them crash dive into the water and there’s this giant burst of, whiteness and then the next thing you know they pop up and they probably got a fish. I don’t know, but I think that’s what they’re doing. So believe it or not, this episode is about outdoor showering because I just took one and it was, amazing. It made me think, why are outdoor showers more appealing to me than normal showers? I have no idea, but I always enjoy my outdoor shower and I was thinking is it just because it’s in a different place than usual kind of you. [2:06] Know out in the open a little bit more exposed maybe a little bit more dangerous you know you’re standing there naked and I don’t know but that didn’t really make sense. I have a theory and it makes zero logical sense but this is what it is because this is the Davo Show and I could do anything I want so I, throw out this idea. And it’s my one-word idea that is the answer for why outdoor, showers are better than indoor showers for people like me. That one word is ions. [2:49] I’m not even sure what an ion is, but I just have an instinct that there’s some kind of ion thing going on when you take an outdoor shower. It just doesn’t happen in the indoors. If you have any proof of that or disproof of that, please let me know? Because ions is my answer. [3:16] So that’s all I got today here at Caswell Beach. I’m actually Oak Island, technically. It’s a little farther east than, let’s see, like I said last night, I’m facing due south, facing the Bahamas and Cuba. It’s a weird twist of curvature of the land. And I’m pretty sure this is called Long Bay. There’s a cut into the continent that’s called Long Bay. And Long Bay forces, or forces, it makes this part of the world face south. And so the sunrise does not come up right in front of you, it comes up way over to the, side where you really wouldn’t expect it. To the left side. [4:19] So folks, I’m David Bourne. You’ve found this podcast somewhere on the internet, but you can find more at davidbourne.com. Hope to see you there. Cheers.
