40 Days Through The Bible

Welcome to 40 Days Through The Bible! We will read a portion of the Bible each day to be able to make it through the whole Bible in just 40 days. We will be following the Bible reading plan provided by Dr. Timothy Berrey in his book “40 Days Through The Bible: An Explorer's Guide to the Book of Books.” I highly recommend you get the book to follow along with these episodes.     Day 40 of 40 gives truth on guiding the church through trials until the Lamb reigns. This reading covers 1st and 2nd Peter, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, Jude, and Revelation. "John writes to help those who believe in Christ know that they have eternal life. Since assurance is rooted in what you believe, 1 John defends the doctrines of Christ."     Day 29 of 40 is God's glory on display."When God makes the statement that He will 'set' His glory among the nations, what He means is that they will see, experience, and acknowledge His glory.     Day 28 of 40 is a warning to Israel's rebellious house of Jerusalem's fall."This formula cuts to the heart of God's purposes in His judging and restoring.     Day 27 of 40 shows how Israel is disciplined but not destroyed."The terrible demise of Judah and Jerusalem is deserved punishment for repeated rebellion, but it is not the final chapter in their history. God will work through David's line to bring a Deliverer (the Righteous "Branch" mentioned in 25:5-6 and 33:14-16) who will make them the righteousness and the light to other nations He has intended them to be from the very beginning of His covenant dealings with them."     Day 26 of 40 is many passages of preaching to a people whom God must punish."The divine punishment warned of in Jeremiah 1-29 is severe but, like so many of God's warnings of judgement, conditional. Those to whom the warning is given have a chance to repent and avert the promised punishment. God's covenant with David contains two essential components: the perpetuity of David's line and kingdom, and the choice of Jerusalem as the site where God will place His name."
