A BeYOUtiful Life

My passion, purpose and desire for this podcast is to empower and enable any and all to learn and apply principles of absolute truth taught by Jesus Christ to heal body, heart and mind.

  1. 21

Episode 21: “[Moroni] caused places of security to be built… that the stones and the arrows of the Lamanites could not hurt them. And they were prepared… .”

Alma 50:4-5. Alma 49 & 50 are incredibly informative chapters in the Book of Mormon. They help us understand better why and how to do the work of rebuilding, preparing, and defending ourselves against the adversary. They show the importance of building boundaries of protection, places of security, and fortifications where Satan and the forces of the world cannot enter. We can become a happier person as we acknowledge our human weakness and vulnerability, thus our need for boundaries.

  2. 20

Episode 20: “A Word of Wisdom, for the benefit of the saints of Zion…Given for a principle with promise, adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest of all saints.”

D&C 89:1-4. The Word of Wisdom is given to us, in the wisdom and love of God, as a principle with a promise of His joy as we choose to live by it. These scriptures also suggest that this is the floor, “adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest of all saints.” I believe this means we need to build on what He’s given and, through His wisdom, develop our own personal word of wisdom as boundaries of protection to keep us safe from the evils of the world and help us be our truest and happiest selves.

  3. 19

Episode 19: “And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength.”

Mosiah 4:26-27. We are not meant or required to run faster than we have strength. The truth is we can’t give of that which we don’t have. If our motive for self-care is to fuel ourselves so we can go for the Lord, then the greater joy the Lord promises will be ours.

  4. 18

    Episode 18: Part 2 of “Remember remember… .”

Helaman 5:12. Remember remember. Why is remembering so important? What about these other words? Return. Repent. Restore. Reconcile. Reclaim. Renew. Rejuvenate. Refuel. Refill. What do all of these words have in common? What truth can we learn from understanding a deeper root meaning in these words?

  5. 17

Episode 17: “Remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer…that ye must build your foundation… .”

Helaman 5:12. Remember remember. Why is remembering so important? What about these other words? Return. Repent. Restore. Reconcile. Reclaim. Renew. Rejuvenate. Refuel. Refill. What do all of these words have in common? What truth can we learn from understanding a deeper root meaning in these words?

  6. 16

Episode 16: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Luke 2:52. In order for something to grow, it requires care and nurturing in the ways it needs. This scripture tells me that even Jesus needed care in order to increase and grow in all the areas of His creation. In this episode, we break down self-care into an understandable framework so that you can create your own daily, weekly, monthly self-care strategy.

  7. 15

Episode 15: “A very large ship is benefited very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves.”

D&C 123: 16-17. What does “being kept workways” teach us about self-care in the Lord’s way? This is another beautiful scriptural phrase we can look at to help us understand the divine importance of taking care of our creation.

  8. 14

Episode 14: “When they were buried in the deep there was no water that could hurt them their vessels being tight like unto a dish… .”

Ether 2:16-17, 6:3-12. How does self-care in the Lord’s way relate to the phrase “tight like unto a dish?” What can we learn about taking care of ourselves in needful and appropriate ways from this scriptural story and phrase?

  9. 13

Episode 13: “I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God…and deny not the gifts of God… . Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness.”

Moroni 10:6-8, 32-33. Deny not God and deny not your divine, true self but rather deny the ego, the natural man, and the world. We can connect the commandment of loving our neighbor as ourselves to the truthful principles of “knowing thyself” and “to thine own self be true.” What do those phrases mean and why is it not only appropriate but needful to honor these principles of truth if we want to live in joy, peace and freedom?

  10. 12

Episode 12: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,… soul, and… mind… . And… thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Matthew 22:36-39. We know the great commandments, however do we know how to live them in wisdom…in the Lord’s way. I offer my experience, belief and insight into what the great commandments actually mean and how I’ve learned to live them more fully in wisdom and truth which yields greater freedom and joy.

  11. 11

Episode 11: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7. More tools are discussed that can increase our awareness of what’s happening in our minds and hearts. The more mind-knowing and heart-knowing we possess, the more power we possess. And that power, which is the power of Christ and His truth, enables us to make choices from a place of love and a sound mind which is our divine self.

  12. 10

Episode 10: “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Hebrews 10:31-32, 35-36. More on the power of fear to control us through Satan’s distraction and denial strategies. AND the power we have to instead choose to break open our hearts to the Lord, surrender the fear and control to Him, and fall into His living and loving arms which is comfort, safety, strength and freedom.

  13. 9

Episode 9: “The Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease .”

Mosiah 24:12-16. Even in our scariest, darkest, most painful storms and bondage, if we will look up to the Lord, He can give us His strength and power to “bear up our burdens with ease.”

  14. 8

Episode 8: “There were fears in your hearts, and…this is the reason that ye did not receive.”

D&C 67:1-3. Speaking of fears, Happy Halloween! It is human to have fears and feel fear. And the truth is we have our power of agency to choose faith not fear. Freedom not bondage. But how do we do that when fear is so powerful?

  15. 7

Episode 7: “Gather together in one all things in Christ.”

Ephesians 1:10. What is the “paradox of man”. We talk about bringing seeming truth polarities together into one great whole which is where increased joy, peace, freedom and confidence in Christ can be found.

  16. 6

Episode 6: “Offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit.”

3 Nephi 9:20-22. Our shared human experience of pain and trauma and our reaction/response to it is discussed. A tool is offered that can help heal our broken hearts and set us free.

  17. 5

Episode 5: “Come unto me…return unto me…that I may heal you.”

3 Nephi 9:13-15. It is human to choose to not look at what’s in our hearts because there is pain there. However, we need to face it and feel it, then give it to God to heal it.

  18. 4

Episode 4: “And the words of…[truth]…sank deep into my heart.”

Enos 1:3. The importance of our heart in our knowing and becoming. In addition to thought, we need awareness of the beliefs in our heart so we can choose truthful beliefs and change our outcomes.

  19. 3

Episode 3: “[Yielding] to the enticings of the Spirit.”

Mosiah 3:19. Applicable tools one can use to increase self-awareness and mindfulness in order to take back your power of choice over your thoughts and yield to truth.

  20. 2

Episode 2: “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Proverbs 23:7. I share about the powerful principle of truth that began my healing journey. The truth that we have power over our thoughts. How do we affect change in our lives by changing what we think? How do we change what we think? The what and how of the power of thought is discussed.

  21. 1

Episode 1: “And the truth shall make you free.”

John 8:32. In this episode, I share my story, my purpose, my passion and my why for doing this podcast. Basically I share me in my humanness and vulnerability with a deep desire to affect change, increase hope and help in healing through absolute truth for those seeking freedom from the misery of any form of bondage in and to this world.
