Something to Remember
Something to Remember is a compilation album by Madonna, released on November 3, 1995, by Maverick Records. The record was conceived after a controversial period in Madonna's career, when many critics had speculated that her career had declined. In response Madonna composed the album, composed of ballads spanning over a decade of her career, including a reworked version of "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" and three new songs: "You'll See", "One More Chance" and a cover of Marvin Gaye's "I Want You". The record also features previously released singles that had never been included on a Madonna album, "I'll Remember" and "This Used to Be My Playground", and altogether provided a softer image for the singer during a critical period in her career.

Confessions on a Dancefloor
Confessions on a Dance Floor is the tenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna. It was released on November 11, 2005 by Warner Bros. Records. A complete departure from her previous studio album American Life (2003), the album includes influences of 1970s and 1980s disco, as well as modern-day club music. Initially, she began working with Mirwais Ahmadzaï for the album, but later felt that their collaboration was not going in the direction she desired. Madonna took her collaboration with Stuart Price who was overviewing her documentary I'm Going to Tell You a Secret. The album was mainly recorded at Price's home-studio where Madonna spent most of her time during the recordings.Musically, the album is structured like a DJ's set. The songs are sequenced and blended together so that they are played continuously without any gaps. The title arrived from the fact that the album tracklisting consists of light-hearted and happy songs in the beginning, and progresses to much darker melodies and lyrics describing personal feelings and commitments. Songs on the album use samples and references of music by other dance-oriented artists like ABBA, Donna Summer, Pet Shop Boys, Bee Gees and Depeche Mode, as well as Madonna's earlier work in the 1980s.Contemporary critics lauded the album calling it a return to form for Madonna, ranking it alongside her best albums. Madonna was honored with a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2007, as well as International Female Solo Artist at the 2006 BRIT Awards. Commercially, the album peaked at number one in 40 countries, earning a place in the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records for topping the record charts in the most countries. Despite being available for sale during the last one and a half months of 2005, the album's success was such that it still ranked as the world's sixth biggest-selling of the year. Confessions on a Dance Floor has sold an estimated 12 million copies worldwide.Four singles were released from the album. "Hung Up", the lead single, became Madonna's most successful single worldwide by topping the charts in a total of 41 countries. It was followed by "Sorry" which was another chart topping success. It became Madonna's twelfth number-one single in the United Kingdom. "Get Together" and "Jump" were released as the third and fourth singles respectively, both becoming top-ten hits in several countries. To promote the album, Madonna embarked on a small promotional tour titled Hung Up Promo Tour. The album was further promoted on the 2006 Confessions Tour, which became the highest grossing tour ever for a female artist at that time.

Acoustic Mass - Bedtime Stories
Continuing with our Single Album retrospective, tonight I'm playing Madonna's 1994 album, Bedtime Stories. Take the journey of the music and listen from beginning to end. Bedtime Stories is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on October 25, 1994 by Maverick Records. Madonna collaborated with Dallas Austin, Babyface, Dave "Jam" Hall and Nellee Hooper, deciding to move into a more R&B direction. Madonna tried to soften her image after releasing several sexually explicit works earlier in the decade. The album was inspired by contemporary R&B and new jack swing, developing a generally more mainstream, radio-friendly sound. Like its predecessor Erotica (1992), Bedtime Stories explores lyrical themes of love, sorrow, and romance, but with a toned-down, less sexual approach. Critics described the album as "autobiographical". The album's final single "Human Nature" addresses the controversy surrounding Erotica, while "Bedtime Story" was written by Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk. Bedtime Stories received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who praised the album's candid lyrics and production.Commercially, the album proved to be successful. Debuting and peaking at number three on the Billboard 200, the album was certified triple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. It peaked in the top five in most territories, topping the charts in Australia. Four singles were released from the album. The lead single, "Secret", gave Madonna her record-breaking 34th consecutive top ten single in the United Kingdom, while "Take a Bow" spent seven weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 (the longest run for any of Madonna's chart-toppers). Other singles released were "Bedtime Story" and "Human Nature".

Acoustic Mass - Ray of Light
Listen to the lyrics of this album.Tonight's show we're featuring Ray of Light (for its 15th Year Anniversary) which Madonna released in 1998. In my opinion her best album, artistically and vocally. This is my all time favorite Madonna album I find it mature and intimate as well as a creation of a new sound that had not been heard before. She won MANY grammies for this album and I feel it proves her genuine musical genius.

Acoustic Mass - Diva
INFOThis Month on Acoustic Mass we are playing one album per show to showcase the genius of each artist's music, songwriting and concept as a whole album. I will be playing the entire album in order. These days, people buy this song and that song because they like them, and rarely buy entire albums and therefore rarely experience them as a whole work of art.Tonight's show we're featuring Diva which is the debut solo album by singer-songwriter Annie Lennox, (Originaly of the Eurhytmics) released in 1992. This album has special significance to me personally, I listened to this album over and over and over again the year it came out after a heartwrenching breakup I endured. This album was my solace and helped me overcome my pain desolation. My favorite songs are Why, Little Bird, Money Can't Buy It, Cold, Walking on Broken Glass, Precious and the rest! :)

Acoustic Mass - Parachutes
This Month on Acoustic Mass we are playing one album per show to showcase the genius of each artist's music, songwriting and concept as a whole album. I will be playing the entire album in order. These days, people buy this song and that song because they like them, and rarely buy entire albums and therefore rarely experience them as a whole work of art.Tonight's show we're featuring Coldplays debut, 2000 album Parachutes. Parachutesr becomes a work of real transcendence: On songs like the unrepentantly romantic "Yellow," the band creates a hypnotic slo-mo otherworld where spirit rules supreme. The album is a a slo-mo acoustic-pop mix of songs filled with raw romantic emotion and amazing music. This is one of the albums that I can play on repeat over and over and never tire of - it's one of my all time faves. I hope you enjoy it.

Acoustic Mass - Erotica
This Month on Acoustic Mass we are playing one album per show to showcase the genius of each artist's music, songwriting and concept as a whole album. I will be playing the entire album in order. This is one of her most underrated albums. These days, people buy this song and that song because they like them, and rarely buy entire albums and therefore rarely experience them as a whole work of art.Tonight's show we're featuring Madonna's 1992 album Erotica which was not well-received at the time due to her accompanying release of her erotic book, SEX which featured nudity (hers and others) as well as bondage, S&M and exploration of other forms fo sex including homosexuality. The album is a reflection of all of this and is brilliant due to its combination of pop, jazz, and blues all in one modern (for its time) new sound. I hope you enjoy it. My favorite tracks are Secret Garden, Rain, Erotica, Bad Girl, Deeper and Deeper, Why's It So Hard, Bye Bye Baby and In This Life.
