    The Distracting Injury

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..We recorded this one the way we usually do lately… riding down the road together. In this episode, we talk about kids who are going through real, heavy things. Some of them show it in loud, explosive ways. You can’t miss it. It demands your attention. But others… you’d never know just by looking at them.As a paramedic, I’ve learned about something called distracting injuries. It’s the injury that’s so obvious, so intense, that it pulls all your focus. Meanwhile, there can be something more serious underneath that you won’t even find unless you slow down and take a closer look. That’s exactly how it is in children’s ministry.Sometimes the loud behavior becomes the distracting injury. It gets all of our attention. And while we’re focused on what’s visible, we can miss the deeper hurt… especially in the quiet kids who never act out but are carrying just as much, if not more.We talk about learning to see beyond what’s on the surface. We pray for real discernment, that God would help us not just respond to behavior, but minister to the heart. That He would use us to speak healing into both the loud and the silent struggles.Because every child has something going on beneath the surface. And if we’re willing to look a little deeper, God will let us be part of the healing.Support the show

CMC Jena, LA We Caught a Wake and a Word

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..In this episode of the Apostolic Children’s Network, we’re coming to you live from the road… literally. This episode was recorded in a van, somewhere between one children’s ministry stop and the next, fueled by snacks, stories, and zero professional studio equipment. So buckle up it's a long one. We’re recapping the Children’s Ministry Conference in Jena, Louisiana, and let’s just say… We did not leave dry, no really.Between powerful services, taking notes like we were back in school, and soaking in every session we could, we ended up on a pontoon in the bayou under clear skies with stars we forgot were even there, spotlight scanning the water for gators. Then one turn caught a wake and just like that, we got our feet wet in Louisiana..But seriously, CMC was incredible. We break down the sessions that challenged us, the lessons we’re already putting into practice, and the moments that reminded us why children’s ministry matters so much. There was vision. There was conviction and there was that kind of fire that follows you home and won’t let you sit still. And we have to talk about the Ashleys. They didn’t just host a conference. They adopted everybody. Within minutes, you felt like family. At this point it’s settled. They are everyone’s grandparents. The kind that love you, feed you, check on you, and make sure you’re good before you even realize you needed anything. This episode is a mix of road noise, laughter, ministry talk, and a whole lot of appreciation for what God is doing through CMC.If you were there, you’re about to relive it.If you weren’t, you’re going to wish you were.Next time, we’ll bring better microphones.Maybe.Probably not....Support the show

Why Children's Ministry is the Front Lines of Your Church....

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..Children’s ministry is often seen as preparation for the future, but in reality, it is the front line of the church today. Research shows that nearly 64% of Christians made their commitment to Christ before the age of 18, and almost half before age 13. What happens in childhood does not stay in childhood. It shapes a lifetime. In this episode, we discuss why children are the life force of the church and why the enemy fights children’s ministers so fiercely. We address the loneliness many children’s workers feel, the responsibility to teach not just what we believe but why we believe it, and the importance of equipping children with biblical truth that can withstand the pressures of the world. We also explore the necessity of training the next generation of leaders, understanding our role as stewards of the Kingdom, and recognizing that we are not building our ministry but contributing to the future of the church as a whole. This conversation is a call to refocus, recommit, and recognize the eternal impact of investing in children. What you build into them today will shape the church long after you are gone.Support the show

    Accidental Mentors, Intentional Impact

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..Mentorship isn’t a program. It’s a posture.Buckle up this is a long one... In this episode, we talk about how mentorship comes naturally to children’s ministers. Long before we ever used the word “mentor,” we were already doing it week after week, altar call after altar call, conversation after conversation. We unpack why children’s ministry uniquely positions leaders to mentor hearts, not just manage classrooms. From modeling prayer and worship to shaping attitudes, discipline, and faith through everyday moments, mentorship is woven into the DNA of what we do.This conversation is for every children’s minister who’s ever thought, “I’m just teaching kids,” when in reality, you’re raising future leaders, guiding faith in its earliest stages, and planting seeds that will last a lifetime. If you’ve ever wondered why kids open up to you…Why they listen…Why they follow your example…This episode will remind you that mentorship is already in your hands. You’ve been walking in it all along.Click here for the APN Linktr.eeSupport the show

    No Fluff, Just Generational Stuff

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..This episode was born out of a family reunion, where we discovered something powerful, our children are 7th generation Pentecostals. That realization sparked a deep conversation about what it really means to hand the truth down to the next generation. In today’s world, kids and young people aren’t interested in empty traditions or surface-level faith. They’re hungry for something genuine, something real, truth without fluff.Join us as we talk about the responsibility and privilege of passing down an authentic Apostolic faith, living it in a way that the next generation can not only inherit, but also experience for themselves.Support the show

    Hidden But Involved

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..This episode comes to you live from the open road—complete with car noise, bumps, and Siri constantly telling us when to turn left. (Don’t worry, we didn’t invite her as a guest… she just insists on joining in.) While it may not be the quietest recording studio, it actually sets the perfect scene for our conversation: serving from the background. Not every role gets the spotlight, microphone, or stage, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important. In fact, some of the most meaningful work happens quietly, behind the scenes, while we stay faithful and keep moving forward.Support the show

When a Rocket, a Time Machine, and a Legacy of Outreach Collide

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..Strap in, folks — this year’s SuperSunday was a mission like no other! In this episode, we’re recapping our Blast Back to School event, where we turned our church into a launchpad for excitement, purpose, and impact. 🚀With a 12-foot rocket, an 8-foot Time Machine, and even a couple of time-traveling mini-me’s (shoutout to Vana and Cooper), the day was packed with unforgettable fun. But the true heartbeat of the event came through moments of deep impact. Our Outreach Director, Bro. Quante — a former bus kid himself — shared a powerful testimony about how outreach changed his life. We also blessed our kids with backpacks full of school supplies, prayer cloths, and other essentials, preparing them for a successful school year both practically and spiritually. One special touch: many of the giveaway items were generously donated by Sister Tina Bullock before her passing earlier this year. Her legacy of love and giving continues to touch the lives of the next generation — proving exactly what Bro. Quante spoke about. It all matters. From the smallest gesture to the grandest effort, every act counts in the Kingdom.Tune in for stories, inspiration, and the why behind every rocket, time machine, and prayer-filled backpack.Support the show

Kezazah: The Real Reason the Father RAN

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..In this episode, we dive into one of the most well-known parables in the Bible, the story of the prodigal son. But this time, we uncover a powerful cultural context that’s often overlooked: Kezazah.Kezazah (severing or cutting off) was a Jewish custom, a public shaming ceremony for any Jewish man who lost his inheritance to Gentiles and dared return home. It involved community rejection, symbolic breaking of a clay pot, and permanent separation. Knowing this, the father’s actions in Luke 15 take on an entirely new meaning. Why did the father run? Not just out of love or joy, but to get to his son before the village could. He ran to cover his son with grace, to protect him from shame, and to restore him before the world could reject him.Join us as we explore the emotional, cultural, and spiritual weight of this story, and how it reflects the heart of our Heavenly Father who runs toward us, even when we don’t deserve it.Support the show

    Life Outside the Highlight Reel.

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..In this episode, we’re pulling back the curtain on what real life looks like behind the social media posts. It's easy to scroll through Instagram or Facebook and feel like everyone else has it all together, the perfect kids, the thriving ministry, the spotless house, the packed-out events. But what we often don’t see are the late nights, the disappointments, the tears, and the prayers that feel unanswered. We're talking about the unseen moments, the struggles, the small wins, the quiet faithfulness when no one’s clapping. Ministry, parenting, and just plain life aren’t always camera-ready, but they matter just as much, if not more, than the highlight reel. In fact, that’s usually where God does His deepest work. This conversation is a reminder that you’re not alone, that real is better than perfect, and that your behind-the-scenes faithfulness is seen by the One who matters most.Support the show

Leading When You're Not On: Because Kids Are Always Watching!

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..In this episode, we explore what it means to lead when you're not holding the mic. Ministry doesn’t stop when the lights go off or when you step out of the classroom, because kids are always watching. Your faithfulness in the unseen moments, the way you serve, speak, and carry yourself when you're “offstage” is often what prepares you for fruitfulness in the moments everyone sees. We talk about hallway conversations, parking lot prayers, family walks, Walmart runs and how your quiet consistency can preach louder than a sermon. Leadership isn’t just a role, it’s a lifestyle. And sometimes, the most powerful lessons are caught, not taught.Support the show

All In or Nothing: Leaving It All on the Field in Kids Ministry

Like what you’ve heard or have questions? Send us a message..In this powerful and transparent episode, we sit down to unpack what it really means to be sold out in children’s ministry. It's easy to fall into routines, going through the motions, doing what’s expected, checking boxes. But kids can sense when our hearts aren’t fully in it. They know when the passion is missing. And when we serve half-heartedly, everything starts to feel forced, our lessons, our worship, our altar calls.Together, we explore the importance of leaving it all on the field every single week. Being “all in” isn’t about perfection, it’s about passion, commitment, and being fully present in the calling God has placed on our lives. We talk about the difference it makes when leaders pour everything they have into their teams, their classes, and their kids. We also discuss the spiritual responsibility we carry and how the consistency of giving our best opens the door for God to move powerfully in young hearts.Whether you're a seasoned leader or just getting started, this episode will challenge you to examine how you're showing up and encourage you to give your all, because these kids are worth it, and eternity is too important for anything less.Support the show
