The Three Garments, by William Stewart-Lee
Last week Pastor William spoke about the last supper and Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. This week we look at what happened afterwards as Jesus is arrested and he's questioned by the high priest. We're going to look at three figures involved in those events. John Mark, who was a follower of Jesus, Caiaphas, who was the Jewish high priest, and Jesus himself. We're going to focus on their clothing. We're going to look at clothing for those three people, each of them wore garments that carried great symbolic significance. If you want to learn more about a relationship with Jesus we recommend a book titled "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Jesus Washed their Feet, by William Stewart-Lee
We're in our Easter preaching series and this week Pastor William felt very strongly from the Lord that I was meant to talk on the footwashing where Jesus washed his disciples feet. So we're diverting into the Gospel of John this morning which records that story. In first century Judea there were established customs when it came to hospitality. Host would normally provide uh three things: water for foot washing, a kiss, and oil to be to anoint the heads of your guests. If you want to learn more about a relationship with Jesus we recommend a book titled "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis, or "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel if you are questioning what this whole "Christian" thing is all about, or you can reach out to us at https://www.holyspiritleesburg.org/ . Judge Not, by William Stuart-Lee
In this sermon Pastor William speaks on passing judgement on people. Do not judge or you too will be judged. At the time of Jesus, it was the Pharisees who were known as the masters of judging others. They had exalted themselves in the land as moral judges, condemning those who could not keep up with their standards and having very little mercy for those who fell short. And no doubt Jesus had them in mind when he gave this teaching to his disciples. Yet we all at times have made personal moral judgments against others. We all judge. We can have our own internal court system where we are the judge and the jury and the executioner. And we render our verdicts against others so often in seconds with little right of reply. And we tolerate our judgments against others rather than root them out through repentance. We judge often. In fact, it's very, very hard for us not to judge. It's almost like we are wired to judge. Why are we as humans so quick to morally condemn others despite being so flawed ourselves? If you want to learn more about a relationship with Jesus we recommend a book titled "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis, or "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel if you are questioning what this whole "Christian" thing is all about, or you can reach out to us at https://www.holyspiritleesburg.org/ . Psalm 63, by Jack Haye
Our speaker today is Jack Haye President of Patrick Henry College. He speaks on quite a few Psalms and how over the past few years and months he's thought a lot about them. The big one in this talk is Psalm 63. How he finds a lot of earthiness in them. How they represent the highs and lows that real people experience and people who come before the Lord with praise and adoration, but also with confusion and questions and sometimes even complaints. But even the ones where the psalmist starts out that way, you find somewhere toward the bottom, it normally begins to unwind a bit and them turning toward God's sovereignty. And as the writer's heart and mind are tuned more to God's power and goodness rather than the urgency of their own situation. Being Filled With The Spirit, by William Stuart-Lee
In this sermon Pastor William is talking about being filled with the spirit. It's a very simple talk but which he hopes has practical application. In Ephesians 5 15-20 in which Paul is advising the believers in Ephesus to be careful how they live as we heard not as unwise but as wise making the most of every opportunity for the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the spirit. Now, sometimes as Christians, we can wrestle over that question. "What is God's will for my life?" Well, here we have an amazing clear statement of the Lord's will for our lives. The Lord's will is for each one of us to be filled with the spirit of God. That is God's will for me. That is God's will for you. Invitation and Promise, by William Stuart-Lee
In this sermon we're looking at Psalm 91. It's a beautiful psalm. It's a very well-known psalm. Some of you will say it's your favorite psalm. And we don't really know who wrote it. There's conjecture over maybe Moses wrote it, but we don't really know who wrote this psalm. But it is a timeless poem of protection and safety and deliverance. And it contains two things invitation and promise. If you want to learn more about a relationship with Jesus we recommend a book titled "Mere Christianity" by C.S. The Forgiven King, by William Stuart-Lee
This week, William preached on the benefits of recognizing God's forgiveness in our lives. The Biblical context comes from the drastic change in David's heart between the events of his huge sin with Bathsheba and murder of Uriah - highlighted by his plea for forgiveness in Psalm 51:1, "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions," to his recognition of God's cleansing love and full freedom of conscience in Psalm 3:3, "But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head."It's such an awesome reminder of the Father's love and mercy that, in spite of any sin we commit, he is willing and able to forgive when we repent. Truly, though our sins are many, his mercy is more!If you want to learn more about a relationship with Jesus we recommend a book titled "Mere Christianity" by C.S. David's Tent, by William Stuart-Lee
Worship is the key to giving Jesus the primary place in our lives. In the Bible, 2 Samuel 6 and 1 Chronicles 16 recount how David made God the real King of Israel by bringing the Ark of the Covenant to live in a tent near the royal complex. He hired singers and prophets, at great personal cost, to worship around the clock before the mercy seat of God. In this talk, Pastor William examines how we can learn from this Biblical example and apply it to our own lives and churches. Hosting the Presence of God, by William Stuart-Lee
God's presence is awe-inspiring. Drawing close to him is itself an enormous blessing and privilege: we are spending time with the God of the whole universe and He wants to spend time with us as well! To grow closer in your relationship with God, some things are especially useful. One of these is humility. Being willing to be so lost in praise and joy in God's presence that you cease to think about dignity and pride is a key ingredient in becoming a person who God delights to dwell with.

How to respond to a crisis, by William Stuart Lee
How do you respond when your back is against the wall and you don't know what to do about it? Believe it or not, the Bible has the answer. King David was in a life-or-death situation where he had lost everything and his own followers were preparing to kill him, but instead of panicking or fleeing, or even fighting, he drew his strength from God and sought the Lord's leading. We too can learn how to tap into this supernatural strength, so that we can overcome any challenge. If you want to learn more about a relationship with Jesus we recommend a book titled "Mere Christianity" by C.S.
