Be a Waterwolf
by Be a Waterwolf
Multi-instrumentalist and music explorer...er...back from a long expedition! Never get banished to an island full of clarinets and other people, presumably some are clarinetists plucked from rehearsals. Some jerk will want to make a clarinet flare exhibition for passing aircraft, SOS and the likes. Many people with wooden clarinets will have broken hearts. They will, instead, whistle. At which point...get off of the island!!! Hopefully your coordinates are already known by a large ship full of friends who like food similar to your favorite foods and are aware of all allergies. (Musically, I will have compensated for this typed intro by some point if you leave some on and forget all about them having been on, awhile later. Since you are probably already on Clarinet Island. Some tracks are a direct antidote to Island Clarinet Carbons Sickness of the Upper Ankle.

Granular kitchen and also with more bass frequencies than I normally allow myself...yep.
Little Collage. I think it is from a few drum sets, then some very degraded-sounding piano that sounds more like a buzzy synth, and then melodica. And guitar. Probably something else I have left out! The guitar sort of holds it together. The glue, if you will. Oh, also some generated wave forms because I can't resist that option! Just used Audacity. p.s. Stylophone. Or Stylaphone. One of those.

(For Codename) - Solo Piano
Solo Piano, recorded 10-3-17 by Jesse Lemont Image - The Geometric Frog (Spring 2017) Methods: Used 4 different pieces of source material. One was a straight-up melody, one little piece of artwork, a page from Steve Nelson-Raney's Core Strata Theory book on Bi-tonality (he didn't number the pages!) and then a medium-sized piece of artwork (I look at artwork a lot due to synesthesia being helpful to me for coming up with ideas. Typically, I don't use sheet music much, anymore. This time I did, however!) This track is one of several variations of the written melody, though, so I guess I really did stray from the recent "norm." Added note: *Hello, Codename! :) :)

One Of This Century's Drum Solos!
This is from Jazz Volume 3. Hopefully, soon, the whole album will upload in bulk. I used the automatic playlist option, but things just have gone south, since then, and it could be my bad connection at home. Wi-fi seriously sucks ever since twc switched to "spectrum." As a member of the autistic spectrum, I wish that they had better represented the word spectrum in their services. My internet completely sucks, now, though. SOOOoooo....likely, that is the real problem.

Jazz Volume 3 - Sampler Track One [Tracks 1 - 8]
Hello! In case you missed the release of Jazz Volume 3 https://linuslemont.bandcamp.com/album/jazz-volume-3 and do not have time to listen through it for awhile, you can get a gist of what it's about, along with some nice quick/varied audio source material to mess around with(bonus items available with download, though, just saying...and, it's free, so, I hope that helps. Oh, and you can of course make derivative works from it, so, that's always fun. Maybe a bit overboard with the use of wind instruments, but, well...I go through phases! Winds phase right now)

Nice To Meet You, We're Visiting Jazzbots - You've Apparently Just Won A Contest
*This description was copied from the Bandcamp release notes. If you download it there, there are some little paint squares and other photographs along with a xylophone/orchestra bells improvisation (a bit quiet, the latter. I think that the nature of the instruments allows for a bit more boost if one is considering using it as source material, which is why I put it on there. Mallet percussion is really fun to use for generating material and/or adding some very attack-y texture..."Attack-y?" Sorry for saying that! Okayyyy...onto the notes). - - - - [Quick Note - I've left numbers in the titles because I just visually like how it looks, although it certainly is redundant! Anyhow, I hope no one is bothered by this. In addition, I will from now on refer to these jazz collections as "Jazz Volume 3," and remove the "Multi-tracked" part...most things are multi-tracked! Okay, thank you!] ------------------------------------- (Previous volumes) Jazz Volume One: linuslemont.bandcamp.com/album/multitracked-jazz-compilations-vol-1 Jazz Volume Two: linuslemont.bandcamp.com/album/multitracked-jazz-compilations-vol-2 ------------------------------------- Jazz Volume Three: This release is a collection mainly of unreleased material complimented by some surrounding tracks that have been released during the 2015-2017 time period I've chosen to focus on that, given the amount of tracks on my Soundcloud page, perhaps have not even been heard. So, this material may all be completely fresh, to some. This volume's content has a bigger wind instrument presence than in the previous two. In addition, two tracks (10 & 15) were from the recent release Piano, Gravity & Glitter..., which I had, during the process of figuring out Jazz Volume 3's final layout, decided to release prior to this album because it seemed to be distinctive enough as an EP. Track 4 is from a release by the project Splicey and Tracky that involves collaboration between myself and Dave Keifer (Howdy Persephone howdypersephone.bandcamp.com ). That album is called Drums and Mannerisms, Now! (or, D.A.M.N.!, as I prefer to call it! soundcloud.com/user-321248188/five?in=user-321248188/sets/drums-and-mannerisms-now) that is our most recent long release (if you like it, be sure to check out Horses, Horses...Horses! and Invisible Tails). On this particular track (fourth), I sampled from both a flute segment and a wind & strings segment of Dave's and stretched them out while setting them up to overlap more frequently as the track goes on, in addition to those sounds being treated/edited more as it goes on. It originated as just a sax/bass/drums trio, and, strangely and wonderfully enough, everything seemed to work out considering the first version of the track seemed to be tonally vague (...the vagueness on purpose! "Vague" in a positive way). But, yes. Anyhow, I hope that this information about covers everything. credits released April 4, 2017 Linus Lemont - Recorded/performed all instruments (with exception of the contributions of flute/strings from Dave Keifer on track 4. More on that in the main album description) and designed the album cover, which took so long to figure out that it is the reason this album never got released in March!

Send your email address to twitter.com/disquiet for Slack inclusion. Image associated with this project is a detail that Bassel Khartabil wrote to Jon Phillips on January 31, 2014, from the Damascus Central Jail. More on Bassell’s detention at freebassel.org. Major thanks to Christopher Adams, Niki Korth, Jon Phillips, and Barry Threw. See the full letter and information about actions to mark the fifth anniversary at: http://freebassel.org/campaign/events/freebasselday/2017/03/09/freebassel5years/ Hi, everyone. I would like to let you know that I am working on my description of the process (it was based on a long alto sax solo, basically adding on/subtracting/treating some spots / weaving into a medley. I am currently making this a larger project which includes visual art, likely an essay, and then I'll have photos along with the thoughts. I'd never been on the http://llllllll.co/c/disquiet-junto before 2 days ago, so I realize that I can make a much better presentation over there with the formatting and all. . . anyhow, some of these parts of this medley or suite or whathaveyou are full tracks, while some are just previews. I've really done a lot of soaking in of information about Bassel's situation, the larger scope, and beginning reading the book of essays. The saxophone solo will be posted along with this track as a 2-track playlist pairing, so that the full alto solo source I've been working off of can be heard. That was my most raw, immediate answer to having begun to read up more updates, various thoughts, listening to several of the tracks on the list at the point when it was 17-strong -- definitely must be way beyond that mark, now! Anyhow, this had a lot of raw immediacy, and I just want to be sure to present the music/art/writing project in the right light. This disquiet0271 exercise has been the start of a large outpouring. A big thank you to Bassel, and those like him. It is certainly not a decision to be who you are, in the beginning. But, when promoting a world where culture is shared, observed, where other cultures exchange information...where we can learn about someone thousands of miles away. Sharing one's work and contributing to others. When this is some of one's idea of an enriching world, and a person has gotten the attention of many, even the best of humankind can be punished for it. Anyhow, I also want to mention that synesthesia plays a huge part in my process, so, as maybe some can imagine, it can be a huge task to talk about what one has done. Also, I should not have waited so long to publish this / wouldn't be in this predicament, then! Lateness in the project description...) -Linus

Alto/Bass Internal Mic jam -- The Barking Cows (Sorry about volume...might want to listen below 40%)
Actually, maybe some will recognize that this alto sax came from the same unintentionally-creepy jazz volume 3 promotional action film with saxophone on a rollercoaster, on which I turn into a ghost and I still don't believe they're real, so neither should the video be... Anyhow, I posted it on One Minute Jams, a facebook group where jams a minute or so long are the goal (in video form). It is attributed to The Barking Cows, because anything that sounds remotely interesting but is of low recording quality is attributed to barking cows. Have a nice day.

Preview One / Upcoming Release (Alto Sax & Drums)
This will probably come out before 2017, unless I change my mind and go in a different direction. There will be 9 tracks. The baseball-obsessed side of me absolutely loves the possibilities of this. Absolutely. Alright, enjoy/happy holidays/please do not drink and drive/please try and help others in any way possible. The latter not just meaning during the holidays. If you hate music that sounds like this, you probably will not be listening to this long enough to want to satisfy a curiosity that is not there to find out more via the track description...which is below. The Mooers Won Their Fifth Or Sixth Game, Today... [internal Mic thing 5/2/15]
I think it was their 6th, unless the official team site updated immediately, and it just usually isn't like that. I did some Xaphoon, then decided that drums were needed. Sort of have been tired, so I didn't feel like a fancy set-up. Therefore, this may become a Barking Cows work, instead of Jess & Jess.

ABOUT THIS SHOW
Multi-instrumentalist and music explorer...er...back from a long expedition!
