Stop Trying to Fit In - This Is How You Actually Stand Out Online | Charlotte Fulcher | Nail Industry Educator
Send us a message ✨In this episode, I’m joined by the amazing Charlotte Fulcher - nail artist, educator for The Nail Tech Org, and honestly… one of the most natural content creators I’ve come across. This Episode is Sponsored by Lash Oasis Shop the full kit OR grab & try the Hybrid Korean Lash Lift Samples now for FREE.. Just USE THE CODE: KARIS https://lashoasis.co.uk/products/the-one-portion-system-sample-pack-3pcs?variant=47502539456738Charlotte’s journey is such a powerful one. From doing nails for her school friends, to working in the corporate world and civil service, to building her own business during COVID, this episode really shows what can happen when you actually go all in on yourself. What I love most about Charlotte’s story is how full circle it is… she once messaged Amy (the founder of the Nail Tech Org) saying she’d love to work for her one day.. and years later, Amy reached out to her to speak on a panel… which then led to her becoming one of just three educators for The Nail Tech Org. Honestly, proof that putting yourself out there matters. We also talk about identity, confidence, and not shrinking yourself to fit in. Charlotte opens up about how she used to hold herself back at school, and how she’s now fully stepped into who she is - bright, bold, creative, and completely unapologetic. But the main focus of this episode is content creation and this is where it gets so valuable.Charlotte shares:How she built a fully booked business through contentWhy authenticity is everything (and why overthinking is holding you back)How to actually connect with your audienceFinding your niche and speaking to the right people (not everyone)How she comes up with ideas and creates content that landsWhy being yourself is your biggest advantage onlineOne thing she said that really stuck with me:“The world wants you to fit in, but the universe wants you to stand out.”This episode will leave you feeling inspired, motivated, and probably rethinking how you’re showing up online. If you’ve ever struggled with content, confidence, or knowing how to stand out in a crowded industry… this one’s for you. This Episode is Sponsored by Lash Oasis Grab & try their NEW Hybrid Korean Lash Lift Samples now for FREE.. Feeling Like You’re Not Enough: Let’s Talk About Imposter Syndrome
Send us a message ✨This episode is sponsored by London Lash. A brand supporting lash artists with professional products, education, and tools.Enjoy an exclusive listener discount: 20% off with code KARIS20 *T&Cs apply.https://www.londonlashpro.com/?utm_source=podcastsponsorship&utm_medium=videos&utm_campaign=behindthetweezers&utm_content=episode5In this episode I’m talking about something that I think almost all of us experience at some point… imposter syndrome.I share some of my own experiences with it throughout my career – moments where I genuinely felt like I didn’t belong, where self-doubt felt crippling, and times where I questioned whether I was even good enough to be in the room. Even at conferences where we got photos with people in my industry and I thought “why am I here? I’m not as popular as them.”Perfectionism has played a big role in this for me too. For a long time I felt like I was never doing enough, which probably pushed me to constantly throw myself out of my comfort zone and chase trophies.I also talk about something that has really helped me when those thoughts creep in - something I call “evidence over emotion.” When imposter syndrome shows up, I challenge those thoughts by asking myself what the actual evidence is. Usually I realise that it’s just emotion making me feel that way, not the truth.Even when I was winning awards, the imposter feelings didn’t just disappear. But the more you do the thing you doubt yourself in, the more that inner critic starts to quiet down.I even felt this when I became an educator. I remember telling my mentor that I didn’t even know if I was good enough to teach. I was full of self doubt… but I kept going anyway, and eventually went on to win Best Masterclass of 2025. It was the feedback from students that really helped me realise that maybe I was doing a better job than I thought. If you’ve ever felt like you’re not good enough, like you don’t belong, or like people might question why it’s you… you’re definitely not alone. Most people experience imposter syndrome at some point.Just remember - you’re not here to impress anyone. You’re here to share what you know and do your best. And sometimes your best might only be 50 or 60%, because we’re human and we can’t be at 100% all the time. You are worthy. You are enough. And you can do anything you put your mind to.If you’re someone who is struggling with self doubt, consumed by negative thoughts. This episode is for you. Thank you for pressing play and joining me! If you would love to connect - follow and DM me. Running a Business Is Easy… Right?
Send us a message ✨This episode is sponsored by London Lash. When you first open your business, everyone’s cheering you on. There’s excitement and support everywhere. But then it goes quiet, and suddenly it’s just you, your thoughts, and the work that still needs to be done. This is the phase where a lot of people give up - not because they can’t do it, but because it’s uncomfortable, lonely, and challenging. You might be facing setbacks, slow growth, or self doubt, all while still having to show up. This is normal and you’re not doing anything wrong, it’s all part of the process.Another big part of this episode is social media and comparison. I talk about how easily comparison can creep in without you even realising - leaving you feeling anxious, deflated, stressed, or like you’re not doing enough. We also dive into why running a business isn’t for everyone - and why that’s okay. The security of employed work, guaranteed income, set holidays, and clocking off at the end of the day is something many people value. But for me? I wouldn’t change this life for the world. I love building something from the ground up. I love that it’s mine. I love knowing I’m not building someone else’s dream - I’m building my own. In this episode, I talk about:Wearing multiple hats and the pressure that comes with itThe quiet middle phase where motivation is testedWhat consistency actually looks like (and why it doesn’t mean showing up every single day)Discipline, self drive, and personal responsibilityDelegating, asking for help, and outsourcing without guiltSocial media comparison and protecting your energySelf-care, rest, and being kind to yourselfRemembering that you’re still you, not just your businessIf you’re building a business, stuck in the middle phase, or feeling the pressure of comparison, this episode is an honest reminder that you’re not behind - you’re just human. This episode is sponsored by London Lash.Shop London Lash: https://www.londonlashpro.com/?utm_source=podcastsponsorship&utm_medium=videos&utm_campaign=behindthetweezers&utm_content=episode4Enjoy an exclusive listener discount: 20% off with code KARIS20 *T&Cs apply.Thank you for pressing play and joining me! How To Raise Your Prices With Confidence - Even If You’re Scared

You overwork. You feel exhausted. You tell yourself you’ll raise them “soon”… and never quite do.I’ve been there. In this episode of Beyond the Tweezers, I’m sharing how I finally raised my prices with confidence after realising I wasn’t even paying myself minimum wage — and why staying underpriced was actually causing more stress and burnout than the price increase ever did.We talk about knowing your numbers, when to raise your prices, how to message clients, dealing with fear and client questions, losing clients (and why that’s expected), and why you shouldn’t treat your job as a hobby - it’s a business.Raising my prices didn’t just change my income - it gave me the space to work on projects like this podcast and future training, instead of being constantly fully booked and exhausted. Being fully booked sounds like the goal, but when you’re not priced correctly, it can quickly lead to burnout.I now work fewer hours, finish at 5pm, only work one Saturday a month, and finally enjoy running my business again. I now have time to spend with my family, friends and work on the projects that I want too.If fear has been stopping you from raising your prices, this episode is for you 🤍This episode is sponsored by London Lash. No friends, no family, no safety net - just belief in herself and a vision for her future. From working in salons that didn’t quite meet her expectations, to finding her place in the industry and building a career she’s now recognised worldwide for, her journey is one of resilience, growth, and purpose. After training with Hanna at London Lash, Darja went on to work in a London Lash salon and eventually became one of the brand’s most respected educators. She’s since won multiple awards, travelled the world delivering training, and is now in a senior role supporting other trainers, distributors, and the wider education network within the company.✨ The main focus of this episode is education — and what it really takes to become a great educator. We talk honestly about:What foundations you must have before becoming an educatorThe key qualities that separate good trainers from great onesHow to stand out in a crowded education market and find your own laneThe realities, pressures, and responsibilities of teachingWhy Darja didn’t feel “ready” to become a trainer and how she overcame that fearHow observing other educators shaped her own teaching styleUnderstanding different learning styles and managing student behaviourDarja also opens up about opening and later closing her own salon, and why she no longer works with clients at all. Her perspective on success, growth, and knowing when to pivot is incredibly valuable for anyone at a crossroads in their career. If you’re thinking about becoming an educator, trainer, or stepping into a leadership role in the beauty industry, this episode is a must listen. It’s honest, educational, and full of lessons you won’t hear on social media.👀 We also hinted at a part two, where Darja would go deeper into her salon journey and the reasons behind closing it - so if you’d love to hear that, send me a DM and let me know.Enjoy this one - it’s a powerful conversation 💭✨Want to connect with Darja? Stop Waiting, Start Knocking | Why I Stopped Waiting to Be Chosen
Send us a message ✨This Episode is Sponsored by Elleebanahttps://www.houseofelleebana.com/collections/online-coursesWhat if the only thing standing between you and your dream is the fact that you’re waiting for permission? In this episode, I talk about the mindset shift that changed everything for me - going from waiting to be noticed, to being the one who knocks first. I share my personal experience of winning competitions, dreaming of judging them one day, and constantly waiting for someone to reach out and offer me the opportunity. That moment finally came - but I knew I wanted more. After a simple conversation with a friend, I realised something powerful: why am I waiting for someone to hand me my dream? So I started messaging competitions I wanted to judge for. Some replied. Some left me on read. But I planted the seed anyway.A year later, the same competition that left me on read reached out - asking me to join their judging panel… and they were paying me!We also dive into how this mindset applies to building regular clients. Clients don’t magically show up at your door - you have to seek them out, find where they are, and show up consistently. Because even when it feels like nothing is happening, someone is always watching. Clients are watching. Brands are watching. Opportunities are watching.Keep going. You never know what’s around the corner.Customer Service Webinar: https://www.thelashspecialist-essex.com/product-page/how-to-deliver-5-customer-serviceThis Episode is Sponsored By ElleebanaThank you for pressing play and joining me! How Karolina Ciapaite Built Clients, Set Boundaries & Didn’t Quit
Send us a message ✨This episode is Sponsored by Elleebana20% Off Discount Code: LASHLOVE20Shop now: https://www.houseofelleebana.com/collections/online-coursesIn this episode, I’m joined by the incredible Karolina Ciapaite — and her story is one of courage, consistency, and trusting the process 🤍Karolina came to the UK with her partner thinking she’d only stay for a few months… fast forward and those few months turned into 10 whole years. Leaving her family behind and building a life in a new country wasn’t easy - especially when her first jobs here were in cleaning. One of those jobs even ended with her being fired.Despite being fully certified in lashes, Karolina didn’t step into the industry straight away. It took a message from her mum — “Karolina, why aren’t you using your lashes?” — along with the constant encouragement and mental push from a close friend who truly believed in her, for her to finally take the leap. From having one client a week and worrying about how she’d pay her rent, to becoming a powerhouse in the lash industry, Karolina’s transformation is nothing short of inspiring. She opens up about being painfully shy, wanting to stay behind the scenes, and how she’s grown into someone who now speaks at conferences, judges international and online competitions, and teaches incredible courses. In this episode, Karolina shares:How she built her client base from scratchPutting business cards everywhere - even on trees 🌳Why starting slow is completely normalHow to set strict boundaries with clients and protect your time, energy, and businessWhy trusting the process is key when things feel uncertainHow attending conferences helped build her confidencePlus… a funny moment where Karolina admits she opened a mystery London Lash box she was definitely told not to open 👀 (don’t worry — I kept it in).And yes - we start the episode with matcha ☕️ Because now, if I think of matcha, I instantly think of Karolina. If you’re at the beginning of your journey, struggling with boundaries, or tempted to give up - this episode is for you. This episode is Sponsored by Elleebana20% Off Discount code: LASHLOVE20Shop now: https://www.houseofelleebana.com/collections/online-coursesThank you for pressing play and joining me! The Journey That Built Me
Send us a message ✨This episode is personal 🤍I’m taking you back to where it all began - a small village, one road in and one road out, a close community, and a big dream that didn’t yet know how big it could become.I talk about discovering my love for beauty in secondary school, falling in love with how makeup could be so transformative, studying Level 2 & 3 at beauty academy, and taking the leap into an apprenticeship. Knowing I wanted more, I left my comfort zone and travelled an hour from my village to be mentored by the best - because growth never lives where comfort does.I share the reality of working in multiple salons, the challenges I faced, the boss who unknowingly taught me some of my biggest life lessons, and the moment I knew it was time to go fully on my own. This episode also opens up about the parts people don’t always see - imposter syndrome, self-doubt, anxiety, sleepless nights, and the fear of getting things wrong when you’re young and building something from scratch.I talk about entering competitions, receiving feedback that changed the direction of my entire career, working with brands, creating my own manuals, and continuously pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.Every experience shaped me. Every challenge had a purpose. If you would like me to share more about my later Journey - what I did to stand out to have incredible oppitunities with brands, let me know in the comment section, I'd love to hear what you would love to listen to on this podcast. And if you’re at the beginning of your journey or going through some difficult moments or wanting some inspiration - this episode is for you.🎧 Available now on Spotify & YouTubeThank you for pressing play and joining me! From Bank Desk to Celebrity Clients — and Working with the Biggest Brand in the World | Susanna Kettle Williams
Send us a message ✨In this episode of Beyond the Tweezers, I sit down with Susanna Kettle Williams, Head Trainer at London Lash Pro, to talk about how one decision changed everything. Before lashes, Susanna was working in a bank, even travelling to India for work. After becoming a mum, she knew she needed something that would fit around her children - and around the same time, having her lashes done for the first time gave her a level of confidence that stayed with her. That feeling led her to book a lash course, without any idea of where it might lead. From there, things began to shift. Before her name was widely known, Susanna was already working with Love Island and TOWIE stars. We also talk about a chance meeting during a pedicure appointment that led to an unexpected opportunity with Stacey Solomon, and a later in her career working with Michelle Keegan that resulted in her work being featured in HELLO! Magazine - a real OMG moment! Now Head Trainer at London Lash Pro, Susanna reflects on confidence, the struggles throughout, motherhood, growth, and what it really takes to build a career in beauty that goes beyond just the skill. This episode is for beauty professionals who want inspiration, perspective, and a reminder that taking action, even without a clear plan - can open doors you never expected.Thank you for pressing play and joining me!
