Ep. 3: Waters Above the Firmament — We Have Questions. God Has Patience. (Genesis 1:6-8)

Episode 3. Genesis 1:6-8 introduces something called the firmament — and waters above it. The problem? There are no waters above our atmosphere. So what is the Bible talking about? Anthony brings the Hebrew, the ancient Near Eastern background, and a handful of theories ranging from genuinely fascinating to deeply concerning. Marlen brings her honest reaction to all of it. We explore the canopy theory, the celestial plumbing theory, the cosmic aquarium theory, and more. We didn’t fully resolve it. God has patience. Fortunately for us, He has a lot of it. Bible Overthinker — assuming inerrancy, asking everything else.

Ep. 2: Light Before the Sun — And Some Really Bad Explanations (Genesis 1:3-5)

Episode 2. God made light on Day 1. He made the sun on Day 4. Anthony noticed. Now it’s a whole thing. We went through several explanations theologians and scholars have offered — some brilliant, some deeply concerning. Marlen reacted to all of it in real time. We eventually landed somewhere. You’ll have to listen to find out where. Bible Overthinker — assuming inerrancy, asking everything else.
