How Inherited Habits Shape Our Lives and How to Rewire Them
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode, I explore the generational patterns of alcohol use and how conditioning shapes our behaviors in ways we often don’t question. I share my perspective on how these patterns are inherited, normalized, and repeated until we bring awareness to them. This conversation is about more than alcohol—it’s about understanding the deeper neurological and emotional loops that keep us stuck. I walk through what it looks like to begin rewiring those patterns through awareness, nervous system regulation, and intentional change. This is the work of breaking cycles—learning to build self-trust, choosing alignment over survival, and creating space for true freedom.• What I once thought was “normal” was actually inherited behavior• Awareness is always the first step in breaking any cycle• Rewiring patterns requires more than willpower—it requires regulation• When I replace coping mechanisms with regulation, I create lasting change“Sometimes what we call normal is inherited.”“Addiction wasn’t random. You’re Not Attracting Them by Accident—Understanding Your Relationship Patterns
🌙 Episode Summary In this episode of Break the Cycles, I dive into something that so many of us experience but don’t always understand—our patterns in relationships and what we’re actually attracted to.For a long time, I confused intensity with connection. I thought the emotional highs and lows, the chemistry, and the pull I felt toward certain people meant something deeper… but what I’ve come to realize is that a lot of what we’re drawn to is rooted in what feels familiar to our nervous system.I share how childhood experiences shape the way we show up in relationships as adults, and how unresolved emotional patterns can keep us stuck in cycles that don’t actually feel safe or aligned. I talk about how gaslighting can disconnect us from our own intuition and self-trust, and how narcissistic dynamics often form through unspoken emotional contracts we learned early on.This episode is really about awareness—because before we can change anything, we have to see it clearly.I also walk through what it actually takes to break these cycles. Not just intellectually understanding them, but repatterning the body, creating internal safety, and learning how to sit with ourselves in stillness and solitude. Because real healing isn’t about finding someone different—it’s about becoming someone who no longer tolerates what once felt familiar. This is a conversation about coming back to yourself, rebuilding self-trust, and creating relationships that feel safe, grounded, and aligned.✨ Key TakeawaysThis episode is about awareness—because I can’t change what I’m not willing to see.Understanding what I’m attracted to is the first step in breaking unhealthy patterns. What feels intense isn’t always connection—it’s often familiarity.Chemistry can actually be nervous system activation, not alignment.Calm can feel unfamiliar when I’ve been conditioned to chaos.Attention can feel regulating, but it doesn’t mean the connection is healthyBoundaries once felt unsafe for me, but they’re essential for healthy relationships.Repatterning requires me to slow down, be alone, and sit in stillness.Real connection feels different when I prioritize emotional safety.Self-compassion is necessary—because I was operating from what I knew at the time.🎙️ Sound Bites“Those are not green flags.”“I wasn’t ready at the root.”“Boundaries felt dangerous.” ⏱️ Chapters00:00 Introduction to Break the Cycles Podcast 01:56 Understanding Attraction and Relationship Patterns 07:29 How Childhood Shapes Adult Relationships 14:06 Gaslighting and the Loss of Self-Trust 18:39 Narcissistic Dynamics and Emotional Contracts 23:08 Repatterning and Building Internal Safety🌿Call to ActionIf this episode resonated, you don’t have to hold it alone.✨ Follow me on Instagram for grounded reflections, healing insights, and gentle remindersIG: https://www.instagram.com/iamalishasheri✨ Awaken Your Highest Self – 3-Day Workshop If you’re looking for a clear, grounded introduction to the framework behind this work, this workshop offers gentle structure, guided practices, and orientation — without pressure to go deeperLearn more or register here: https://www.alishasheri.com/workshop✨ Join my free virtual Meetup: Healing After Toxic Cycles A women-centered space for conversation, education, and nervous-system-aware healing. Your Body Has Been Trying to Tell You Something
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode of Break the Cycles, I explore the deep connection between our bodies and our emotional health. I share my personal journey of moving out of survival mode and into a place of awareness and gratitude, and how that shift changed the way I relate to my body.I open up about how my body was always communicating with me, even when I wasn’t listening, and how many of my coping mechanisms were rooted in childhood experiences. I talk about how suppressing emotions can show up physically, and how learning to recognize those signals became a turning point in my healing journey. This episode is about slowing down, tuning in, and rebuilding trust with your body. I close with journaling prompts and affirmations to help you begin cultivating a deeper, more compassionate relationship with yourself.✨Key Takeaways• Expressing gratitude for my body has been a powerful part of my healing journey• Living in survival mode created distress within my body• My body has always been communicating with me, even when I wasn’t aware• Suppressing emotions led to physical tension and discomfort• Many of my coping mechanisms were rooted in childhood experiences• Learning to recognize tension in my body helped me understand my emotional state• Healing required me to slow down and listen to what my body was telling me• Surrendering to the healing process allowed transformation to happen• Mindfulness practices helped me regulate my nervous system• Gratitude helped me reconnect with my body in a more compassionate way🎙️Sound Bites"Survival mode puts distress on our body""My body is always communicating with me""Thank your body for always protecting you"⏱️Chapters00:00 Embracing Body Awareness and Gratitude08:45 Understanding My Body's Signals18:02 My Journey of Healing and Regulation23:35 Shifting from Control to Regulation29:17 Closing Reflections and Future Intentions🌿Call to ActionIf this episode resonated, you don’t have to hold it alone.✨ Follow me on Instagram for grounded reflections, healing insights, and gentle remindersIG: https://www.instagram.com/iamalishasheri✨ Awaken Your Highest Self – 3-Day Workshop If you’re looking for a clear, grounded introduction to the framework behind this work, this workshop offers gentle structure, guided practices, and orientation — without pressure to go deeperLearn more or register here: https://www.alishasheri.com/workshop✨ Join my free virtual Meetup: Healing After Toxic Cycles A women-centered space for conversation, education, and nervous-system-aware healing. Living Your Healing in Real Time
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode of Break the Cycles, I explore what healing really means and why it’s often misunderstood. Many people think healing is a feeling or a destination you arrive at, but through my own journey I’ve realized it’s actually a response to life’s challenges and the triggers we encounter along the way.I talk about how healing begins with awareness. That moment when you start recognizing patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses that were once automatic. Awareness creates the space for change. From there, I move into the concept of alignment, which requires learning to trust yourself again. Alignment isn’t about perfection. It’s about making choices from a place of consciousness rather than reacting from old survival patterns.I also discuss the role of discipline in healing and how true discipline isn’t about pressure or forcing yourself into change. It comes from self-trust and devotion to the person you are becoming. Finally, I share why integration is one of the most important parts of the healing journey. Integration is where healing stops being something you perform and becomes the way you live. It becomes your lifestyle.I close the episode by reflecting on how our personal healing doesn’t just transform our own lives. When we do the work to restore emotional safety within ourselves, it naturally impacts the people around us and contributes to a more conscious and compassionate world.✨Key Takeaways• Healing isn’t a feeling, it’s a response to triggers and life experiences.• Awareness is the first step in recognizing the patterns we want to change.• Alignment happens when we start making choices from consciousness instead of survival.• Discipline in healing comes from self-trust, not pressure or punishment.• Integration is the stage where healing becomes part of how you live every day.• When healing becomes embodied, it turns into a lifestyle rather than a performance.• Your healing journey naturally influences the people around you.• A calm and regulated nervous system can shift the energy in your environment.• Healing is about restoring emotional safety, not fixing something that is broken.• Consistency and self-awareness create lasting transformation.🎙️Sound Bites“Healing isn’t a feeling, it’s a response.”“Alignment requires devotional discipline.”“Discipline isn’t forced. Reclaiming the Soft Power Within
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode of Break the Cycles, I explore what expansion really means. Growth is not about striving harder or becoming someone new. It is about creating the internal space to hold more.I share how true expansion requires feeling safe within yourself. When your nervous system is regulated and grounded, you can actually receive the peace, love, clarity, and alignment you say you want. Without safety, growth feels overwhelming instead of empowering. So many of us, especially high-achieving women, have been conditioned to chase more while operating from survival mode. We want bigger lives, deeper love, stronger impact. But if our body is still wired for chaos, we unconsciously reject the very things we are calling in.In this episode, I remind you that feeling restless, anxious, or uncomfortable during growth does not mean you are failing. It means your baseline is shifting. Expansion can feel unfamiliar. It can feel quiet. It can feel spacious. You are not broken. You are unlearning survival patterns and learning how to hold more.Real expansion happens when your nervous system is calm, your awareness is elevated, and your actions align with who you are becoming.✨Key Takeaways• Expansion does not ask you to become more. It asks you to hold more.• Real growth feels like space, not striving.• You are not broken. You are unlearning survival patterns.🎙️Sound Bites“Expansion doesn’t actually ask you to become more.”“That’s not failure. 🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode of Break the Cycles, I talk about something that’s often overlooked in healing conversations… nutrition, hydration, and movement.I share my personal journey with food, emotional eating, and how my lifestyle choices were directly connected to my emotional state. I open up about how I had to shift the way I viewed food, not as comfort or punishment, but as energy. I also dive into how movement became more than just exercise for me. It became a way to release stored emotion and regulate my nervous system.I talk about the importance of hydration and how something as simple as drinking enough water can impact your mood, clarity, and overall well-being.This episode is about reconnecting with your body in a compassionate way and understanding that healing isn’t just emotional or spiritual. It’s physical too.I close with journaling prompts and affirmations to help you reflect on your relationship with your body, food, and self-care, so you can begin cultivating a healthier and more aligned lifestyle.✨Key TakeawaysNutrition, hydration, and movement are crucial for healing.Food should be viewed as energy, not just taste.Fad diets are often unsustainable and short-term solutions.Emotional eating is a way to suppress feelings and stress.Movement helps release stored energy and emotions.Sweating is a natural detox process for the body.Hydration is essential for energy flow and mental clarity.Conscious drinking of water nourishes the soul.Self-compassion is key in the journey to better health.Your intuition becomes sharper.🎙️Sound Bites"Your body is your first energy field.""Look at food as energy, not just taste.""Water is life. How to Start Healing: Why Self-Care is Your First Boundary
🌙 Episode SummaryIn this episode, I talk about the true foundation of healing, and that is self-care. Not the aesthetic version. Not the performative version. The real kind. The kind that regulates your nervous system and creates safety in your body so you can actually process, grow, and evolve.I share how many of us were conditioned to believe self-care is selfish, especially as women, mothers, and high achievers. I open up about over-functioning, pushing through exhaustion, and what it cost me when I ignored my body’s signals.I break down the three pillars that transformed my healing journey: mindfulness practices, intentional nourishment, and grounding rituals. These are not luxuries. They are foundational if we want to break cycles instead of repeating them.I also guide you through reflection prompts and affirmations to help you create a self-care routine that supports your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.✨ Key Takeaways • I believe self-care is foundational to healing, not indulgent. • I had to unlearn the belief that resting makes me weak.• My nervous system’s state determines how I respond to life.• When I regulate my body, I expand my capacity. • Over-functioning is not strength. It’s survival. • Nourishing my body supports my emotional stability. • Journaling helps me release what I’ve been holding. • Creating intentional routines protects my growth. • Meeting myself where I am creates sustainable healing.🎙️ Sound Bites“Meet yourself where you are now.” “Journaling helps release what’s stuck.” “Self-care is foundational to healing.” “You cannot heal in a body that feels unsafe.”⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Why Self-Care Is the Foundation of Healing 03:33 How I Was Conditioned to See Self-Care as Selfish07:29 Understanding My Nervous System and Survival Mode11:03 The Three Pillars That Changed My Healing 15:47 Creating a Sustainable Self-Care Routine 19:32 Journaling and Reflection for Emotional Release🌿 Call to ActionIf this episode resonated, you don’t have to hold it alone.✨ Follow me on Instagram for grounded reflections, healing insights, and gentle remindersIG: https://www.instagram.com/iamalishasheri✨ Join my free virtual Meetup: Healing After Toxic Cycles A women-centered space for conversation, education, and nervous-system-aware healing. How to Rewrite Your Story: Healing from Family Expectations
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode, I explore how childhood experiences continue to shape our adult lives, especially in relationships, parenting, and self-worth. I talk openly about inner child healing and how unresolved wounds from early life can quietly influence how we react, love, and show up for our children. Through my own lived experiences, I share what it looks like to recognize, nurture, and heal the inner child rather than letting her run the show. The Moment You Finally See the Truth
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode, I share a personal revelation that changed the way I understand betrayal, intuition, and self-trust.What I realized wasn’t just that my intuition had been right all along. It was that I had learned to betray myself in order to survive. For a long time, I believed I was disconnected from my intuition. But the truth is, I wasn’t disconnected at all. I was self-abandoning. When your sense of safety depends on other people, approval, or stability outside of you, silencing your inner voice becomes a survival strategy.I break this episode down through the lens of levels of consciousness. In 3D consciousness, survival drives everything. We make choices based on fear, security, and attachment. We override our inner knowing because staying connected to others feels safer than staying connected to ourselves. In 4D consciousness, awareness begins. This is where awakening happens. You start to see patterns, recognize betrayal, and realize how often you’ve abandoned yourself to keep the peace. It can feel disorienting, emotional, and confronting — but it’s also where truth starts to surface. And in 5D consciousness, alignment becomes possible. This is where peace doesn’t come from avoiding truth, but from honoring it. Safety becomes internal. Self-trust replaces self-abandonment. You stop betraying yourself to belong and begin living from inner authority instead. This episode is about recognizing your own moment of revelation — the point where awareness is no longer enough, and truth is asking to be integrated. I also guide you through reflection and a short meditation to help you reconnect with your inner voice and clarify what your system is ready to release next.✨Key TakeawaysWhen your safety depends on others, you learn to silence your inner voice. In 3D, survival overrides truth. In 4D, awareness exposes self-betrayal.In 5D, alignment restores inner peace.Self-abandonment creates disconnection from your true self.Honoring your inner voice is essential for growth and emotional safety.Betrayal can be a catalyst for awakening and self-discovery.External pressure often suppresses intuition.🎙️Sound Bites“The revelation wasn’t that my intuition was right — it was that I had learned to betray myself to survive.”“When your safety depends on other people, silencing your inner voice becomes a survival strategy.”“Peace doesn’t come from ignoring the truth. Why You Feel Stuck: How to Identify Toxic Relationship Cycles
🌙Episode SummaryIn this episode of Break the Cycles, I dive into what keeps us stuck in toxic patterns and generational cycles we didn’t consciously choose. I talk about how awareness is the gateway to healing and how many of the behaviors we struggle with are inherited, learned, or rooted in unhealed emotional wounds.I share personal reflections and practical tools I use in my own healing journey, including awareness journaling, nervous system regulation, and intuitive boundary setting. This episode is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and recognize the patterns playing out in your life so you can consciously choose something different. Healing, for me, has always come back to choice — and the power we have to rewrite our stories once we see them clearly.✨Key TakeawaysAwareness is the first step to transformation. Triggers are messengers that reveal unhealed stories. Relationships often mirror parts of us that need healing.People pleasing is often self-abandonment in disguise. Noticing a pattern is the first step to breaking it. Generational cycles are inherited emotional patterns. Ancestral trauma can affect our current emotional responses. Setting boundaries is essential for maintaining authenticity.🎙️Sound Bites"Your relationships are teachers." "Healing isn't just mental, it's physical."
