Altars and the task of Spiritual Replacement. Rector's Report APCM. 27.4.2026. James di Castiglione
As we are seeking to "enlarge the tent" - it's vital to keep the tent (tabernacle) focus of seeking the Lord in this place,. The 'altar of incense' (praise and intercession burning night and day), to allow God to begin the work of reshaping us as a church into a house of prayer for all nations, that His manifest glory might rest and abide in this place.

Altars, Place, Transformation, Ephesians 1 v 1 & Psalm 1, 26.4.26. James di Castiglione
We are called to build an altar of prayer and worship in Chanctonbury. The altar builds a firm spiritual gate in a place and it acts an entrance point for more of the spirit of the living God. There are spiritual gates that allow darkness into the world. It was in that context in Ephesus that the church rises., in a city built around the Greek Goddess of Artemis. Historically Chanctonbury has been an area where a temple was build to the goddess Diana. Places are affected by the gates that are opened. We need to come out from under it and come over it. We are called to be apostolic people; one, holy and set apart. Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. As we stand and pray in the spirit on all occasions, we build the 1st Altar of Sacrifice. The 2nd Altar of Feasting at the Lord's table and the 3rd Altar is the Altar of Incense; these are the prayers of the saints rising and reshaping the Western church. (Revelation 8;3-5). Let's be encouraged to build these altars, in this place to bring transformation.
