Chapter 905

Navigating through life as a young adult in my twenties, I'm attempting to discover how to do “my best,” and doing what I believe is “my best” with what I have. But how much of our best can we truly give with what we have if we don't have Jesus? Carry your cross with me as we discuss it all: faith, identity, lament, obedience, discipline, and much more.Let's embark on this journey towards Christ, for His glory.

ep 3: is your glass half empty or half full ?

Happy New Year, all !Open up this chapter with me as we discuss and explore the importance of gratitude. In this episode, I recant stories in my life where gratitude and a positive perspective mattered most, speaking on what it means to remain in a constant state of gratitude despite one’s circumstances.Diving into the book of Psalms and the words of David, we unpack the complexities of holding on to both lament and grief, processing feelings of discontentment and navigating ways to transition a heart lacking contentment to a heart that is grateful. To be in Christ is knowing and having faith that even if you can’t currently see or feel God’s goodness, you will. Ask yourself, if your life was a glass, would your glass be half empty or half full? Let us come to trust not in what God will do or not do, but in who God is, and through thanksgiving find our “fullness” in Him.I look forward to seeing you in the next chapter!- Dami B.“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7NLT

ep 2: navigating “christian fomo” & grieving past selves

Open up this chapter with me as we discuss and explore the effects of experiencing “fomo” as a Christian.“Fomo” is defined as a “Fear of Missing Out.” Sometimes, out of habit, we still miss the water that came out from the well, even though we have access to water far greater, living water. But we mustn't confuse what we are truly thirsting for.Submit it all onto Him as we get to the root of the fears we may have to “miss out.” Speaking on the topics of healing and restoration, we dive into the story of the paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5. From highlighting the importance of not placing confidence in our flesh, to breaking down the grief that accompanies the death of our flesh.Don’t go back to the well, you’re not missing out. Instead, go and proclaim the good news of the Messiah. Hopefully, we can all replace our fears of missing out with a joy to miss out on the world, for Christ. I look forward to seeing you in the next chapter.- Dami B."So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then."1 Peter 1:14NLT

ep 1: imposter syndrome & seeking God’s face

Welcome to Chapter 905 ! I'm so honoured to share the very first episode of my podcast with you all. Open up this chapter with me as we discuss imposter syndrome, feelings of inadequacies, and seeking the face of God. In this episode, I dive into the struggles of falling victim to underestimating our strengths because we are comfortable in our weaknesses, and I navigate how to implement intentionality into pursuing a personal relationship with Christ. I break down that obedience is a beautiful gift we can give to God, and that the reward of obedience is a beautiful gift that we can receive from God.Diving into scripture such as 1 Corinthians 12, I emphasize that we must quiet the voices that tell you that “you can't” and listen to the one voice that tells you that, through Him, “you can.” Come into agreement with what God believes about you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. I look forward to seeing you in the next chapter.- Dami B.“You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, LORD, do I seek”Psalm 27:8ESV
