Come Meet Jesus
by Katie Summerrow
If we can connect with God through prayer in our minds, then why wouldn’t we bridge the gap between the auditory and the visual? Colossians 3:2 says to 'set your mind on things above.' We do this by meditating on the scriptures that were designed to paint vivid images for us. Through the practice of surrendering to the Holy Spirit, we enter into these pictures through our sanctified imagination to create a meeting place with God. Often, the Holy Spirit will take over, and your imagination will no longer in control. As we continue this practice, the eyes of our hearts become clearer and clearer, making it easier see in the same place where we’re accustomed to seeing only our imagination. So, find a quiet room and shut the door (Matthew 6:6). Be still before the Lord and wait expectantly for Him (Psalm 37:7). Your secret place with Jesus will never be the same.
