Scripture: Exodus 16:1-5, 11-20"God's provision is stronger than our preparation." God's miraculous provision of manna in the wilderness for the Israelites teaches us that the Lord will always provide for our needs - the question is will we trust him to be our provider?

Scripture: Exodus 15:22-27"It's not enough to believe God exists - we have to believe God is here, now, in this moment." The wilderness is a place of testing - will we trust that the Lord is with us in the hard times or not?

As much as we want the rescue story of the Exodus, or the triumph story of entering into the Promised Land, the wilderness is an inevitable part of the life of following Jesus. But there are lessons about what it means to live for him that can only be learned in the wilderness.
