A Mother's Journey Of Pregnancy Hardships, Near Death Experiences, & Entrepreneurism
Send us Fan MailToday, I sit down with Malyri Ryan, a Marine Corps veteran, former diesel mechanic, Christian mother, and modest fashion creator known online as Cheap Chic Finds. In this episode, Ms. Ryan shares her journey from joining the Marine Corps after high school, deploying to Iraq in 2009, working around construction equipment and military vehicles, and learning how to excel in a male-dominated environment while staying grounded in her faith and identity.Ms. Ryan and I also discuss her long road to motherhood, including infertility, IVF, pregnancy, miscarriage, and the emotional weight of trying to conceive while trusting God’s timing. She opens up about the joy of becoming a mother, the heartbreak of losing a child, and the medical emergency that nearly took her life after she began hemorrhaging and ultimately had to undergo a hysterectomy. This conversation touches on grief, motherhood, Christian faith, pregnancy loss, and the difficult questions many families face when walking through infertility and reproductive hardship. We also talk about the moral and spiritual complexity of IVF from a Christian perspective, the loneliness many women experience while trying to become mothers, and the hope Ms. Ryan continues to hold onto as her family explores surrogacy for their remaining embryos. Throughout the conversation, I connect her story to themes of faith, trauma, military mental health, and the biblical example of Hannah, showing how deeply motherhood, suffering, prayer, and trust in God can intersect.Later in the episode, Ms. Ryan shares how she became a modest fashion influencer by helping women find affordable, cute, and conservative clothing through Walmart, Target, and budget-friendly shopping. We discuss online criticism, spiritual warfare, Christian content creation, modesty, social media pressure, and how creators can keep shining their light even when negative comments try to silence them. This episode is a powerful conversation about surviving hardship, trusting God, honoring motherhood, and using your story to encourage others.https://www.cheapchicfinds.com/https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/combat-veteran-exposes-the-truth-about-school/id1657865479?i=1000701429695 Website: https://coupleonukes.comExodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? God Doesn't Relapse: Addiction Recovery, Enablement, Boundaries, Service, & Faith
Send us Fan MailToday, I sit down with Matt Grace, author of God Doesn’t Relapse, for a powerful conversation on addiction recovery, faith, family boundaries, and the spiritual transformation that helped him rebuild his life. Mr. Grace shares his story of becoming addicted at a young age, moving from Ritalin to crystal meth, facing arrests, overdoses, broken relationships, and eventually surrendering to God after years of addiction. In this episode, Mr. Grace explains why addiction does not only affect the addict—it affects the entire family system. We discuss enablement, tough love, emotional hostage-taking, and why parents sometimes “love their kids to death” by preventing them from facing consequences. I also share from my own experience as the son of addiction, including what it means to forgive, protect, set boundaries, and still hope for someone’s recovery without enabling destructive behavior.Mr. Grace also opens up about his work in addiction recovery, his experience helping families, and why he wrote God Doesn’t Relapse as both a memoir and a resource for families dealing with alcoholism, drug addiction, failure to launch, and broken family dynamics. We talk about the importance of service, volunteer work, accountability, and learning how to stop living as a victim and start living as a survivor. This conversation also addresses faith, masculinity, pornography, gambling, young men in crisis, and how society often distorts morality while normalizing destructive behaviors. Mr. Grace shares how prayer, service, and a relationship with God helped him find lasting sobriety, while I connect his story to biblical themes of redemption, purpose, spiritual discipline, and hope beyond addiction.Whether you are struggling with addiction, loving someone through addiction, recovering from family trauma, or searching for faith-based encouragement, this episode offers practical wisdom and spiritual insight. Mr. Grace’s story is a reminder that recovery is possible, boundaries are necessary, service changes lives, and no one is too far gone for redemption.https://mattgrace.com/ Website: https://coupleonukes.comExodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? The Book Of Frequency: Money And Abundance (The Cyclic Nature Of Give And Return)
Send us Fan MailToday, I share a solo episode centered on my latest chapter contribution to the finale of The Book Of Frequency trilogy. After contributing to all three books in the series, I begin by briefly revisiting my previous chapters from The Book Of Frequency: Love And Gratitude and The Book Of Frequency: Energy And Healing. I discuss how love can create powerful endurance, how spiritual energy eventually fails without surrender, and how true healing and deeper strength come from surrendering to God rather than relying only on our own willpower. In this episode, I read and reflect on my newest chapter, “The Cyclic Nature Of Give And Return,” from the money and abundance installment of The Book Of Frequency. I make it clear that I am not a financial advisor or financial expert, but I use this chapter to explore the philosophy, heart posture, and spiritual mindset behind money. Rather than glorifying wealth or romanticizing poverty, I focus on the flow of money, the purpose of generosity, and the difference between chasing cash and recognizing abundance in many forms.I also discuss how money can be used for selfishness, greed, status, and destruction, but it can also be used to serve others, support families, bless nonprofits, help churches, provide for those in need, and create ripples of impact. I reflect on giving to charities, churches, small businesses, struggling individuals, and causes connected to veterans, widows, orphans, homelessness, first responders, abortion prevention, and others in need. This episode challenges listeners to think about what money is for, what kind of life they are building with it, and whether they are hoarding, chasing, serving, or giving.Toward the end of the episode, I connect generosity to gratitude, abundance, faith, and long-term return. I discuss how many people only look for cash in return while missing the blessings, relationships, opportunities, help, provision, and impact that can come back through a generous life. Whether someone has money to give or only time, service, attention, or care, this episode encourages listeners to reflect on how they can participate in the cycle of giving and return with humility, wisdom, and purpose.Website: https://coupleonukes.comExodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? May The 4th (Psalm, Proverb, & Ecclesiastes) Be With You
Send us Fan MailToday, I use May 4th as an opportunity to evangelize through Scripture with a Radiating Faith solo sermon. Instead of focusing only on the familiar Star Wars phrase, I use the date as a doorway into Psalm 4, Proverbs 4, and Ecclesiastes 4. This sermon is about taking a cultural moment and redirecting it toward God, wisdom, peace, righteousness, and the eternal truth found in Scripture. I begin with Psalm 4, where David cries out to the God of his righteousness and asks for relief from distress. I break down the Hebrew language behind ideas like God making room in narrow places, falsehood and emptiness, covenant faithfulness, emotional discipline, righteous sacrifice, and true peace. This chapter points us toward the peace only God can give, especially when the world presses in with anxiety, distraction, enemies, delusions, and false gods. Then I move into Proverbs 4, focusing on the command to get wisdom at any cost, guard the heart, listen to instruction, avoid the path of the wicked, and walk the path of righteousness. I discuss Hebrew words connected to discipline, Torah, the inner self, wisdom, understanding, and the path of life. In a world full of social media comparison, sexualization, fear, anxiety, hatred, and constant distraction, Proverbs 4 reminds us that wisdom is not casual information but life-giving instruction from God. Finally, I close with Ecclesiastes 4, a sober reflection on oppression, envy, meaningless toil, loneliness, companionship, wisdom, and the vapor-like nature of popularity and achievement. I discuss the Hebrew concept of hevel, the fleeting mist of life under the sun, and how so much of modern ambition is driven by comparison instead of calling. Psalm 4 gives us peace in pressure, Proverbs 4 gives us wisdom for the path, and Ecclesiastes 4 gives us clarity about striving without God. May the fourth be with you—not the force, but the peace of Psalm 4, the wisdom of Proverbs 4, and the sober clarity of Ecclesiastes 4. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/spiritual-warfare-sobriety-scripture-against-drugs/id1657865479?i=1000737069911Website: https://coupleonukes.comExodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? Observing, Interpreting, & Applying 1 Samuel 1: Redemption Narratives In The Bible
Send us Fan MailToday, I continue the Radiating Faith ministry sub-series with a solo sermon centered on 1 Samuel 1, the story of Hannah’s sorrow, prayer, surrender, and the birth of Samuel. I begin by sharing how God repeatedly placed Samuel in front of me throughout the week through my college assignment, my conversation with Samuel Kihara on The Bible Podcast, and the Ripples To Waves Gala hosted by Hadassah’s Hope. This episode focuses on how the Holy Spirit can guide us toward Scripture when God is trying to teach us something, especially when the same passage, theme, or message keeps appearing in our lives. In this sermon, I read and break down the first chapter of 1 Samuel, exploring Hannah’s barrenness, Peninnah’s cruelty, Elkanah’s response, Eli’s misunderstanding, and Hannah’s vow to dedicate her son to the Lord. I discuss how Hannah’s suffering reveals the painful reality of living in a fallen world, where personal hardship is often made worse by the sins and cruelty of others. I also examine how infertility, rivalry, broken worship environments, and human weakness all appear in this passage while God is preparing to bring forth Samuel as a righteous servant in a corrupt generation.I also connect Hannah’s story to the larger biblical narrative of surrender, sacrifice, redemption, and God sending light into darkness. Rather than simply removing darkness, God often raises up faithful people within it. I discuss the parallels between Hannah surrendering Samuel to the Lord, Abraham’s willingness to surrender Isaac, Mary’s role in the life of Yeshua, and God giving His Son for the redemption of humanity. This sermon also reflects on Job, Jonah, Jeremiah, Matthew 16:24, and the repeated biblical theme that our lives, our desires, and even our answered prayers ultimately belong to God.Toward the end of the episode, I challenge listeners to reflect on how to respond to suffering, how to avoid multiplying someone else’s pain, and how to become a Samuel in corrupt environments. Whether the darkness appears in churches, ministries, podcasts, families, schools, or culture, the question is not only how we avoid corruption, but how we become faithful lights within it. I also connect this message to the work of Hadassah’s Hope and the women they serve, especially those healing from trafficking, sexual violence, domestic violence, and deep wounds of worthlessness, reminding listeners that true worth and freedom are found in Christ.Website: https://coupleonukes.comExodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes?
