KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 13 Final Results
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Luciano Benevides did the nearly impossible and won the 2026 Dakar Rally from behind on the final day to take the victory by two seconds over Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally's Ricky Brabec.Over 100km of final stage racing, Benevides didn't let up, taking advantage of a small navigation mistake in tricky terrain by Brabec to secure his first Dakar Victory, and the 21st for KTM by the slimmest margin ever seen. Brabec, for the most part, rode the most flawless rally of the year, avoiding major navigation or terrain mistakes over two weeks and almost 8,000km of racing. But in the final 3km of today's final, Brabec made a wrong turn and it cost him the most valuable seconds of the race. This is a stunning victory for Benevides and KTM - a historic one - proving that even when it's almost impossible to win, believing you can is the only way to victory.Enjoy the show and we will see you at the next round of the World Rally Raid Championship from Portugal in March. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 12
American Monster Energy Honda HRC Factory Rally ace Ricky Brabec took a decisive stage win today at the 2026 Dakar Rally, besting Red Bull Factory KTM front-runner Luciano Benevides by a mere three minutes and 20 seconds to put himself in prime position for his third Dakar Rally win. Brabec's strategy played out yesterday held him back in starting position today - prime placement for making up the :23 second gap Benevides had going in to today. But, Benevides didn't make it easy by racing to the front of the pack early and gathering over two minutes of bonus time on the long, fast stage. The win and time gain will see Brabec lead out a short 100km-ish day tomorrow to the final checkered flag of the rally. If Benevides can find more than three minutes to gain tomorrow, this will go down to the wire, but it's a heavy lift in such a short stage. We hear from the top racers in RallyGP, check in with Original by Motul class leader Benji Melot, and hear from yesterday's stage winner Skyler Howes after a demanding day saw his Honda expell ALL OF ITS OIL, yet still finish. Wow! One more stage to go tomorrow and this 2026 Dakar Rally is done! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 11
American Skyler Howes on the Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally Team took his first career stage win today on stage 11 of the 2026 Dakar Rally. His first stage victory comes on his eighth year of Dakar competition and he becomes the ninth American to win a stage in the history of the race. As the 2026 Dakar Rally enters the final two stages, today's results set the stage for an all-out war between Honda and the Red Bull Factory KTM team. Honda won the day, and set themselves up for potential success with Howes' teammate Adrian Van Beveren starting first on-course and powering his way into second on the day, helping his other American teammate Ricky Brabec massively. The Honda duo of Van Beveren and Brabec rode together for much of the day, sharing bonus time and even slowing down intentionally to secure a more favorable starting position tomorrow for Brabec. KTM RallyGP rookie Edgar Canet put himself back into the fight with a third place finish and Luciano Benevides finished fourth. Honda's Tosha Schareina rounds out the top five. The results of the day mean Benavides leads the overall rally competition by a mere 23 seconds over Brabec, but the KTM rider will start two postions ahead on tomorrow's decisive stage. Brabec will have a more favorable starting spot, looking to race to the front. Enjoy today's show as we get down to the wire in this very tight race! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 10
Today's race is dominated by the news that Daniel Sanders crashed off a dune and injured his shoulder, dropping him out of the race win contention. Sanders managed to finish the stage and minimize damage, but damage was done and while he's still planning on racing the last three days of the 2026 race, doing so will be extremely difficult even for the gritty Australian.Adrian Van Beveren took the stage win today after catching the front runners, including his Honda teammates and putting down his signature sand dune speed to take his 7th stage win of his career. Ricky Brabec finished second on the stage, also collecting some bonus time by leading out front and being credited time back for stopping to assist the downed Sanders at about the 140km mark on the special. Brabec's ride also put him at the top of the general standings heading in to stage 11. Luciano Benevides was hoping for a better finish than third on the day from his ninth place starting position today, but struggles in the dunes and a crash kept him four minutes off the leading pace. Luciano now sits second in the general standing, only 56 seconds behind Brabec.Tosha Schareina also had a tough day holding off the competition, finishing eighth on the day after leading the way at the start. Schareina sits in third overall, 15:43 off the leaders with Sanders in fourth after his disasterous day, 17:37 back from the top of the standings. We hear from the top finishers, check in with Johnny Campbell and Jordi Vialladoms as well as hear from Original by Motul competitors and the always entertaining Nathan Rafferty. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 9
We have a great show for you today covering stage nine of the 2026 Dakar Rally. We cover all the motorcycle classes and get a great interview with one of the best stories out of the Malle Moto/Original by Motul class. Up front, Monster Energy Honda HRC racer Tosha Schareina got the stage win today over Red Bull Factory KTM's Daniel Sanders by more than four minutes. Schareina took advantage of his fourth place starting position on the day and a tricky navigation note at kilometer 35 to close the gap and get up front. His teammate Ricky Brabec also caught the leading KTM duo up front of Sanders and Luciano Benevides and the four rode together for the rest of the stage. However, Schareina and Sanders pulled away over the stage, sharing the bulk of available lead-out bonus time and pushing Brabec outside the front-running bubble. Brabec would finish fourth today, 6:22 back from the lead.Rally2 competitor Mike Docherty had a blistering stage, greasing the navigation challenge that caught the leaders out and using his 16th starting position to chase down the RallyGP guys. His performance put him third overall on the day, only 15 second behind Sanders without any bonus time - a fantastic ride from the South African.American Skyler Howes would finish fifth on the stage aboard his Honda, nearly eight minutes off the lead. In the general standing, Sanders regains the lead with a 6:24 cushion over Brabec. Benevides now sits third, seven minutes behind Sanders. Schareina really moved up, now sitting in fourth, about eight minutes behind Benevides with his sights on podium finish by the end of the race. Kove's Neels Theric finished second in Rally2 today, with American Preston Campbell coming in third behind Docherty and Theric, riding well enough to remain in 9th overall in the general standings and increasing his lead for the first of many days over Toni Mulec in the Rally2 category. Campbell now has more than 17 minutes to spare after gaining more than eight minutes today.Malle Moto/Original by Motul competitors continue to pace well with Josep Pedro and Benjamin Melot finishing 11th and 12th, respectively on today's stage. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 8
Luciano Benevides put the 2026 Dakar Rally motorcycle competitors on notice today that he is here to stay. Yesterday's stage winner went out like a bullet today, opening the longest special stage of the 2026 course solo, grabbing every available second of bonus time and taking back-to-back stage wins and his third stage win of the year in four days. An absolutely dominating performance from Benevides today saw him not only best Daniel Sanders by nearly five minutes, he also held off a strategic Ricky Brabec by more than five minutes. If that wasn't enough, Benevides also put himself at the front of the overall rankings, leapfrogging over his teammate Sanders to sit at the top with a ten second gap to Sanders. Brabec is third, 4:47 back after the day didn't work out like he'd hoped.dStage eight was fast, faster than most racers predicted, and without much in challenging navigation points. And Luciano Benevides was the fastest. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage 7
The 2026 Dakar Rally is back after a much needed rest day and Luciano Benevides came out swinging! The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pilot took his seventh in his career today, almost five minutes ahead of his teammate Edgar Canet. Canet, rebounding nicely from his rear tire disaster before the rest day kept the pace high, finishing just ahead of Monster Energy Honda HRC's Adrian Van Beveren by only 10 seconds on the day. In the general classification, the race order now stands with Daniel Sanders at the front holding a 4:25 lead over Ricky Brabec with Benavides in third more than ten minutes back. Racers on the course were playing strategy for what seems like the first time in the rally today, holding back for favorable start positions tomorrow and looking ahead in the week to try to gain an advantage. We catch up with the top finishers, check in with Johnny Campbell to talk strategy and bivouac food, interview the Malle Moto/Original by Motul leader Benji Melo and hear from Anthony Bonello, in person from the pits! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 | Dakar Rally Rest Day Show
It's rest day at the 2026 Dakar Rally - the perfect opportunity to annoy some factory racers, check in with the Malle Moto / Original by Motul class racers and get some insight into the professional photographers on the course every day. We start today's show with a Skyler Howes interview and then move to Javi Vega, finally chatting with photographer Marcin Kin. Howes has had a few really tough days battling illness, crashes and mechanical threats on the course, but he's still in contention for a podium spot by the end of the race. We get his insight into the first week and what he's looking towards starting tomorrow. Vega has been racing the Original by Motul class for a few years and on a Kove for two years now. We find out about some bike issues and his motivation to get on the class podium. We all want to know what photographers do when they see a dangerous spot on the course - do they shoot or try to direct riders away from the danger? We ask Marcin Kin, a Red Bull photographer and one of the best in the biz. Finally, we drop in some good Quinn-and-Answer questions and Jesse tries to get Quinn to talk about more factory rally bike secrets. Enjoy the show! Last published episode: 'KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 | Dakar Rally Stage Six
The first half of the 2026 Dakar Rally is complete as competitors head into a much deserved rest day tomorrow. After a brutal 900km and fourteen hours, the top racers in the Dakar Rally have finished the first half of this year's race. Up front, it's American Ricky Brabec on his Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally machine taking the top spot on the day by just over a minute to his teammate Tosha Schareina. Third on the day went to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders, three seconds behind Schareina. The big story today is Sanders, who went to the front of the field early after catching his teammate Luciano Benevides. Sanders threw down a blistering pace at the front, riding away from the field and was clearly the fastest on-course. However, he was slapped with a six-minute speeding penalty after reportedly flying through a 50km/h zone at 98km/h.The mistake took the sure stage win away from Sanders and closed the gap at the top of the general standings. Here, Sanders has the lead by a mere 45 seconds over Brabec with Benavides in third, more than ten minutes behind. The rest day is welcomed for the bivouac, and we catch up with Mason Klein as he finishes another day in the top-ten rankings on-stage, and sits 13th overall.Rest day tomorrow, and then we're straight in to a brutal second half of the 2026 Dakar Rally! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 | Dakar Rally Stage Five
The 2026 Dakar Rally has finished its first of two two-day marathon stages today and racers across the field had to deal with racing on worn tires from yesterday. We predicted that tire issues would cause a shakeup in the overall standings and it sure did with early front runner Edgar Canet of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team suffering the worst of it, losing his rear mousse on the stage and having to limp his bike to the finish in Hail. Canet would be the last finisher on the day, losing more than four hours on race time, and more than 10 after penalties were assessed at the end of the day. His race at the front is over, but he does race tomorrow and will continue to be a factor in the stages if he stays healthy. American Skyler Howes predicted he'd have tire issues today and he did, having to take it easy on the day and sacrificing more than 20 minutes to get to the finish. Another victim of the day, albeit not because of tires, was the previous two days' winner Tosha Schareina, the Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally pilot lost ten minutes today almost immediately as he failed to enter the course between the required flag markers. His error cost him ten minutes on the day, and dropped him from sharing the lead to fourth place overall, almost 12 minutes behind the leader.Today's stage was great for Luciano Benevides, the factory KTM racer made strategic choices to push at the end of the day to leap ahead in the standings and take his first stage win of the year. He now sits in third overall, as well. This was after a very high-speed crash, to boot. Likewise, Nacho Cornejo from the Hero squad rode a great stage, taking second overall for Hero, a result they desperately needed after Ross Branch dropped back in the standings today. Daniel Sanders came in third today, giving away almost six minutes to his teammate. In the general ranking, it's Sanders in control with a two minute gap to Ricky Brabec (fifth today), and then Benevides nearly six minutes behind Sanders in third. Tomorrow's stage is massive, over 900 kilometers on tap and a 4am start time for Benevides in the morning. The only repreive is the following day is Rest Day in Riyahd. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 | Dakar Rally Stage Four
The racing is tighter than ever at the 2026 Dakar Rally and today's stage four, the first half or a two-stage marathon phase of the race, was close with the top three finishers on the day separated by a mere 10 seconds! Lot's to unpack today and we have Johnny Campbell joining the show to give us some deep insight into the race! In the front of the pack today was once again Tosha Schareina of the Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally team - taking his second stage win in a row for 2026. The spaniard led the route from the start and claimed most of the opening bonus time before his teammate, American Ricky Brabec, caught him. The two Honda pilots would ride in to the finish together, navigating quickly and sharing bonus time and setting themselves up with 1-2 on the day. Third on the day was yet another Honda rider, as American Skyler Howes got way up to speed, clocking fast times across the stage to sit only 10-seconds back on adjusted time after bonuses awarded to the top-two. Howes was on the gas.In Rally2, a lot of drama unfolded today with front-runner Michael Docherty having a massive front wheel failure, forcing him to catch a ride to the end of the stage and essentially stopping his race. He will be able to continue in Rally2, but he's out of the competition. Honda's rookie Rally2 sensation Martim Ventura also had a mechanical today, knocking him down nearly two hours. Kove's Neels Theric's rebound from his prologue pushing continues as he takes the stage win for the Chinese brand, but American rookie Preston Campbell is the big benefactor on the day, flying up the general rankings to take the lead, more than 18 minutes clear. The following days are going to be filled with more drama and racing excitement. And we can't wait to cover it all here. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 | Dakar Rally Stage Three
The 2026 Dakar Rally set off on stage three today with a grueling, rocky route through the Saudi desert. And for the first time in 2026 we have a new manufacture taking the stage win as Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally's Tosha Schareina kept his speed high, despite a brutal crash, and recorded his first win of 2026. Second behind him was his teammate, American Ricky Brabec. Brabec blitzed to the front of the field today to grab some opening bonus time and the effort gave him his best finish of the race, so far. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders followed up his stage win from yesterday with a strong performance leading the field. He raced through the course fast while leading, gathering the most opening bonus points without losing much time to the following pack. His great ride today kept him in second on the stage and keeps him in the lead overall. In the general rankings, Sanders leads by a little over a minute to Ricky Brabec, with Schareina now in third, knocking rookie RallyGP star Edgar Canet off the podium for now. We have some great interviews today including exclusive chats with Ross Branch, Michael Docherty, Hank from HT Rally Raid and Preston Campbell on the Honda HRC squad's Rally2 program. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage Two
Welcome back to the KLIM Dakar Rally Daily show presented by Baja Rally and Rally Navigator! We're racing into stage two today with some insight into a fast and grueling stage at the 2026 Dakar Rally. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders took the stage win today just in front of his teammate and 2026's stand out RallyGP rookie Edgar Canet. The KTM Duo swapped positions at the front of the rally about 100km in to the stage and enjoyed a fast pace at the front. Sanders and Canet split the available bonus time and kept the pace high to secure the top two spots on the day. Sanders, with his 10th Dakar stage win today, jumped to the front of the overall rankings with Canet right behind him in second overall. American Ricky Brabec had a great day as well. The Monster Energy Honda HRC pilot went fastest on the stage from start to finish on race time, but ended up third again today after the opening bonuses for Sanders and Canet were tallied. Brabec sticks to his third spot overall, as well. The bivouac moved locations today making uploads from racers and our on-the-ground correspondents difficult, but we still managed to get you some great insight into the racers and how the stage went down. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2026 Dakar Rally Stage One
The 2026 Dakar Rally kicks off Stage One with a loop from the seaside bivouac in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia over 300kms of timed special test course. Front runners of the race remain unchanged from the short prologue yesterday with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's prodigy Edgar Canet taking the stage win over his teammate Daniel Sanders by a little more than a minute, and 1:32 over American Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally's Ricky Brabec. The stage win keeps Canet in the lead for the second consecutive day, a feat last repeated by a Spaniard in 2015 by the country's legendary rally ace, Marc Coma. Overall standings mirror today's results with only Hero's Ross Branch getting shaken out of the top spots today after incurring a six-minute speeding penalty. Branch was on pace to take the victory today by more nearly two minutes before the penalty knocked him back. In today's show we chat with the top finishers (including Branch) and catch former Dakar winner Sam Sunderland in the pits for some great Dakar perspective. We also check in with two America privateer racers on the BAS Trucks KTM team, Nathan Rafferty and Brandon Krause, to hear how their rally experience is shaping up. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 12 | Episode 100
The 2025 Dakar Rally final results are in and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders led every day en route to his first Dakar Rally victory, KTM's 20th. The end comes after the Austrian manufacturer dominated the race, taking nine out of 13 stage wins. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 11 | Episode 99
Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally Team's Tosha Schareina got his first Dakar Rally stage win today on a shortened Stage 11. Followed closely by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Luciano Benavides and his HRC teammate Adrien Van Beveren, Schareina kept the pressure on overall race leader Daniel Sanders and his KTM, closing the gap by seven minutes in only 152km.The stage today was shortened by weather, delaying the start of the stage due to heavy fog keeping the helicopters grounded. Organizers proposed a full stage with a 3pm gate setup at refueling, but a racer majority protested that idea and they simply stopped the stage at that point instead of the top guys getting through the gate and continuing on, and those behind not having to finish the stage. We chat with Brad Cox on the show today after his nasty crash earlier in the week. We also hear from at least one racer who's disspointed in the stage shortening.Tomorrow is the final day of the rally - a welcome day for everyone on the course!Enjoy the show! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 10 | Episode 98
2025 Dakar Rally Stage Ten Results and News Show is live! Dakar Rally racers had a brutal commute to work today, over 500km of on-the-road liasion, as they made their way deep into Saudi Arabia's Empty Quarter, the extreme southeast quadrant of the desert country known for it's isolation and intense sand dune landscapes. With only 100km of racing on the day, not much time was up for grabs but that didn't stop Rally 2 competitor Michael Docherty from taking his first stage win. Rui Congalves was second and Tobias Ebster was third. Rally front-runners held back today, not willing to risk their overall placing during the short dune stage. More so, they were willing to slow down for an optimal starting position for the rally's penultimate stage tomorrow - a day of massive sand dunes and 300km of timed terrain. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders continues his strangle hold on the race at the top, finishing back today but still, somehow, putting time on his closest rivals Tosha Schareina and Adrien Van Beveren and their Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally machines. Everyone needs help moving up in this race at this point, and tomorrow is going to be, as American Ricky Brabec said yesterday, an all-out attack. Two more days to go! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 9 | Episode 97
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Luciano Benavides took his second and back-to-back stage victory today on stage nine of the 2025 Dakar Rally. The Argentinian captured the win after starting first, leading to all bonus points, and finishing ahead of his rivals on adjusted time to take the top spot 1:54 ahead of Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally's Adrian Van Beveren. KTM's front-runner Daniel Sanders finished third after the day's course was complete, 3:04 off the pace of Benavides. In the overall rankings, Sanders continues his stranglehold on the race with an 14:45 gap on Honda's Tosha Schareina who had a nasty high-speed crash today. Schareina would re-mount his CRF450Rally and finish today's race in a strong seventh place, losing more than three minutes to Sanders in the overall rankings. Third place is all Van Beveren, sitting more than 20 minutes behind Sanders.Benavides is benefitting from his late race surge and moved into fourth place in the general rankings, ahead of American's Ricky Brabec and Skyler Howes in fifth and sixth, respectively. Brabec is 31+ minutes out of the lead, and 10+ minutes away from the podium in Fifth. Howes is right behind him, eight minutes further away. Tomorrow's Stage 10 puts competitors straight into a massive, brutal liason/transfer of over 500km before a short Empty Quarter sand dune stage of 115km. This will be a crucial stage in setting up the longer, penultimate stage 11 of the 2025 rally - really the last chance for anyone to make an attack. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 8 | Episode 96
The 2025 Dakar Rally completed stage eight today and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Luciano Benavides took the stage win over Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally's Adrien Van Beveren who was only 2:08 behind. Honda's Tosha Schareina finished third 2:14 off the lead and right behind AVBBenavides and Van Beveren were awarded time back after stopping to assist Honda Rider Pablo Quintanilla who had a big crash on the day. Quintanilla exited the rally, his 13th attempt at Dakar. In the general rankings, KTM's Daniel Sanders continues his dominance of the top spot, now with an 11-minute cushion to second-place Schareina and 20+ minutes back to Van Beveren in third. Knocking on the podium door is Luciano Benavides, who made some time today, but is still ten minutes off the podium. Nearly tied with Benavides in fifth overall is American defending Dakar winner Ricky Brabec. The next two days will be key if either of these two Dakar winners want to see an overall podium finish at the end of the week.Today we call America Dakar pioneer Jimmy Lewis as he traverses Mexican roads to get his take on the race, technology, rally history and more. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 6 | Episode 94
The 2025 Dakar Rally began it's second grueling week today with the completion of a masssive stage six. Competitors covered more than 800km, racing across varied desert terrain and obstacles. The race has really begun to take it's toll on the field with Kevin Benavides opting not to start the second week before the stage began, and defending W2RC World Champion Ross Branch, leader of the Hero Motorsports team, crashing out of the race today. Branch made it to medical assistance and has cleared all serious injury checks, but was certainly banged up. Likewise, Brad Cox suffered an early crash on the stage, taking him out of his first RallyGP effort after an impressive race so far. Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally team's Ricky Brabec sprinted to the stage win today seconds ahead of his teammate and stage five's winner Adrien Van Beveren. AVB led the entire course today physically, capturing all the available bonus time and managed to also keep up front on time until the very end when Brabec edged him off the top spot. Third place went to Hero's Nacho Cornejo, a great ride in honor of his teammate exiting the race. Overall, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders continues his solid stance at the top of the standings, giving up some time today to competitors in the overall rankings, but not enough to move him from the top step. Honda's Tosha Schareina sits in second, 11:46 behind Sanders, and Van Bevern is in third, 19:11 out of the lead. More from a nasty stage seven tomorrow as this race starts to become out of reach for many. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 05 | Episode 92
The 2025 Dakar Rally has completed it's first week of racing and the competitors will settle down tomorrow when they get their first, and only, rest day. Stage five wasn't a cakewalk on their way to rest with over 400km of racing and a continuation of the brutal terrain and distance the organization keeps throwing at everyone.Red Bull KTM Factory Racing continued its domination of the rally today with Luciano Benavides taking the stage win narrowly over Monster Energy Honda HRC Rally's Adrien VanBeveren after AVB was docked two minutes for a speeding penalty. Third on the day was Hero's Nacho Cornejo. In the overall rankings, KTM's Daniel Sanders still holds the lead even after opening the route today up front and alone. His speed and navigation was on point, keeping him in the lead as they head into rest day. That's even after he is currently docked eight minutes on today's time for speeding. Reports from the KTM camp indicate that Sanders had another ERTF (gps/nav) failure, causing him to not get notification that he was in a speed-controlled zone. Even with the penalty, Sanders holds more than seven minutes over Honda's Tosha Schareina and 17+ minutes over third place Ross Branch in the overall standings. AVB sits in fourth overall 18+ minutes back, and American's Skyler Howes rounds out the top five with a gap of essentially 20 minutes to the leader Sanders. Defending champ Ricky Brabec is right behind in sixth with 21 minutes to make up in the second week to defend his Dakar victory from 2024.Rest day is welcomed, but we won't be taking the day off. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 04 | Episode 91
The 2025 Dakar Rally completes stage four, the first half of a two-day, two-stage marathon where outside assistance is forbidden and riders have limited time to work on their bikes before sleeping on the ground in a group tent in the middle of the Saudi Arabian desert. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Daniel Sanders took the stage win today after yesterdays navigation equipment struggles. Organizers did award him around five minutes back to his time from yesterday, which closed the gap a bit he built for himself. But his impressive ride today put him back in the winner's circle and re-established himself as the front-runner of the rally. Monster Energy HRC Honda's Tosha Schareina was on the gas, as well, leading until the very end before pulling over for a couple minutes on purpose so he wouldn't have to lead tomorrow's stage. He finished second, only 15 seconds back. Hero Motorsports Nacho Cornejo rounded out the stage podium under eight minutes behind the leader.American's Ricky Brabec and Skyler Howes ran a fast pace opening the stage and minimized their time loss right up until the final 20km or so. There, Brabec and Howes, with Ross Branch in tow, made a crucial navigation mistake, costing them around 10 minutes on the day, a somewhat demoralizing finish to the first day of the marathon. However, the trio is far from out of the race as overall time gaps to the leader in the general standings are under 30-minutes - seemingly in reach for outright victory from any of these top riders - if they can catch Daniel Sanders. That's a big task. Thanks for listening and watching our show. We appreciate it! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 03 | Episode 90
The 2025 Dakar Rally went into stage three today after a grueling 48-hour chrono stage two finally wrapped up (for most competitors) yesterday. Organizers shortened the day today after rainstorms affected the latter part of the course but the racers still had to deal with nearly 400km of special timed stage route of tricky navigation and relentless challenges in terrain and exposure. We have Skyler Howes on the show to give us some insight into the day. Don't miss it!Lorenzo Santolino and Sherco's factory team got the stage win today after an all-out assault that had them battling with Rally GP newcomber Brad Cox all day. Santolino won the day, even before Cox was slapped with a six-minute speeding penalty. Race leader Daniel Sanders and his Factory KTM Rally bike lost significant time today as competitors caught him on the course and navigation challenges slowed him down - including reported issues with his digital roadbook device. He still holds the overall race lead, but his cushion has shrunk to under two minutes after an inspired ride from American Skyler Howes. Howes climbed the rankings with spot-on navigation today, taking advantage of Sanders' challenges and put his Monster Energy HRC Honda bike onto the stage podium and into second overall in the general standings.Fellow American Ricky Brabec used his later starting position to his advantage as well today, clawing back the minutes lost to Sanders and the rest of the top three from a day prior. He grabbed second overall on the day and now sits third fourth in the general rankings, two minutes back from Hero's Ross Branch. The race goes into a brutal two-day, two-stage marathon tomorrow with hundreds of miles of racing and minimal bike maintenance allowed between the two days. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2025 Stage 02b | Episode 89
Stage Two of the 2025 Dakar Rally- a brutal 48-hour two-day sprint across the desert - is finally finished with top rally motorcycle competitors racing for over 11 hours on the stage. Australian Daniel Sanders continues his strangle hold on the field, winning the stage outright and putting more time between himself and his competitors. American Skyler Howes finishes the stage in second place seven minutes behind Sanders with fellow Monster Energy HRC Honda Racing Rally teammate Toscha Schareina right on his heels a few seconds behind. Defending Dakar Rally winner and American favorite Ricky Brabec (Honda) struggled today on the shorter half of the two-day stage, losing upwards of ten minutes to Sanders. The race enters Stage Three tomorrow after stranding nearly 50 motorcycle competitors in the remote Saudi sand last night. Those racers will be trickling into the bivouac for a long time, and with weather threatening tomorrow, organizers have shortened Stage Three by nearly 200km, putting 300km of timed racecourse on the menu tomorrow - not much of a rest after the 48-hour stage. KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2024 Stage 6-A | Episode 76
The 2024 Dakar Rally "48-Hour Chrono" stage kicked off today and dished out more challenges for the Dakar Rally competitors. Top Rally GP competitors lead out the day into Saudi Arabia's Empty Quarter to remote bivouacs that are spread out along the course. A sea of endless dunes met the racers head-on and some bowed out after technical issues. Today's race was the first part of a two-day single stage. And HRC Monster Energy Honda's Adrien Van Beveren leads at today's rest stops with impressive sand speed over more than 500km of racing. AVB's Honda teammate Ricky Brabec came in to the bivouac hot on his heels to sit in second (Virtually) and Red Bull KTM's Toby Price is right behind him in third. Honda's Skyler Howes left the race today after only ~40KM due to a techincal issue with his bike and yesterday's stage winner Pablo Quintanilla - poised to make up big time today after a reversed starting order - ran out of fuel 10km before the first refueling of the day, an error that dashes his hopes of overall victory. Check in with Malle Moto competitors with us today, as well as a chat with Women's class leader and enduro champion Jane Daniels on the Fantic machine. Cheers! KLIM Dakar Rally Daily | 2024 Stage 1 | Episode 71
Ross Branch takes the stage win on his Hero Motorsports ride after a really fast pace kept him in front almost all day. American Mason Klein woke everyone up today with his decision yesterday to willingly lead out a huge day of the rally - putting himself at risk of massive time loss. But, that didn't happen as the kid on the Kove lead the way all day, never seeing another rider in his rearview. His ride captured all the available bonus points on-course (six minutes worth), and combined with his blistering pace all day, kept him in third overall for the stage, from the front - not easy!Plenty happened behind him. We lost HRC Monster Energy Honda newcomer Tosha Scheirna to a crash and injured arm, Hero Motorsports' Joaquim Rodriguez went out in a crash, as well.Tough day for Honda's Skyler Howes starting second off the line this morning and losing time due to a navigation error. But, the rest of the Honda team stayed clean and strong, with Ricky Brabec coming in second on the day.Plenty of more racing to come and more stories to tell.
