The Interior Castle: Entering the Inner Courtyard of Mansion 1
Hi everyone 🤍 welcome back to A Little More Inspired. In this episode of my Interior Castle series by St. Teresa of Ávila, we begin moving inward—leaving the outer distractions of the world and stepping into the first areas of the soul.We talk about what it actually looks like to start the spiritual life, and why it often begins not with peace… but with discomfort. That feeling that something is missing? That quiet restlessness? That’s not random—it’s grace. In this episode, we explore:• why most people stay near the outer walls• how distraction, comparison, and attachment keep us there• the difference between venial and mortal sin (in a real, practical way)• how sin slowly distorts our perception and weakens the soul• and why God is not ranking us—but inviting us into deeper relationshipWe also talk about something really important—how fear-based teaching and shame can actually push people away from God, and what it looks like to understand sin from a place of clarity instead of fear. This episode is really about awareness.Understanding where we are, what is shaping us,and what it means to begin choosing a life that moves us closer to God.If you’ve ever felt like something is missing,or like you’re being called to something deeper… this is for you.I hope you enjoy this episode and leave feeling a little more inspired 🤍....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

The Interior Castle: Introduction to The Soul & Mansions
Hi everyone! Welcome back to a new episode of A Little More Inspired. In this episode, I begin a beautiful journey with you as we explore the works of St. Teresa of Ávila, The Interior Castle.St. Teresa of Ávila is a Spanish Carmelite nun whose spiritual writings on contemplative prayer and the journey of the soul led her to become a Doctor of the Catholic Church. This Christian mystic’s profound spiritual experiences are still impactful today.I am starting a series on The Interior Castle, and I will dissect each mansion. The Interior Castle (1577) by St. Teresa of Ávila is a classic work of Christian spirituality that outlines the soul’s journey toward divine union, metaphorically described as traveling through seven nested “mansions” of a crystal castle. It serves as a guide for prayer, self-knowledge, and mystical transformation. In this first episode, I will be introducing you to the overall themes we will be exploring, an introduction to the human soul, and what to expect of the seven mansions that St. Teresa breaks down to explain the progress of the soul as it seeks its ultimate union with God.I hope you enjoy and leave feeling a little more inspired.Check-Out Biblical Fiction YT: wendigoon Dante's Paradiso & The 9 Levels of Heaven ExplainedDante's Inferno & The 9 Levels of Hell ExplainedDante's Purgatorio & The 9 Levels of Purgatory Explained....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

Humility Part 2: Overcoming Pride Through Self-Knowledge
Welcome back to another episode of A Little More Inspired. In today’s episode, Part 2 of this humility series, I’m focusing on how pride is overcome through self-knowledge. We’ll explore why humility begins with truly knowing ourselves — our wounds, patterns, defenses, and the subtle ways pride can take root in our inner life. I also share more about my own desire to understand my heritage and where I come from, and how learning the truth of our personal and cultural history can be a powerful act of humility rather than shame. This episode looks at how pride often disguises itself as virtue, why we avoid looking inward, and how developing self-awareness — personally, spiritually, and historically — opens the door to real growth. Ultimately, this is about shifting from outward performance to inner transformation, and learning how humility begins when we choose truth over self-denial.I hope you leave feeling a little more inspired.....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

Humility of Heart: What is Humility & Pride?
Welcome back to another episode of A Little More Inspired. In this episode, I’m beginning a new series inspired by the book Humility of Heart by Fr. Cajetan Mary da Bergamo. This spiritual classic was written in the 1700s, yet its wisdom remains deeply relevant for anyone seeking to grow and deepen their spiritual life today. Many of the spiritual teachers I’ve learned from — and Jesus Himself — emphasize humility as the doorway to the soul and the foundation of true spiritual growth. As I continue exploring the seven mansions of the Interior Castle, I felt it was essential to also explore the virtue that makes progress along the spiritual path possible: humility. We cannot truly understand humility without also examining its opposing vice — pride. Pride is what led even angels to fall from heaven, so it’s no surprise that overcoming pride becomes a lifelong spiritual struggle for each of us.In this episode, I dive into what humility truly is, what pride really looks like (especially in its subtle forms), and why humility is essential for authentic spiritual development.I hope you leave this episode feeling a little more inspired.....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

The Three Ordinary Voices of God (Part 2): Physical, Emotional, Intellectual & Spiritual Desires
Welcome back to another episode of A Little More Inspired. In this episode, I’m diving into Part 2 — and the final installment — of my series on The Three Ordinary Voices of God, focusing on the voice of desire. In this conversation, we go deeper into understanding the nature of our desires and how they fit into the hierarchy of a meaningful spiritual life. The world often seduces us — especially through our physical desires — to center our energy around comfort and pleasure. But if we take a closer look, we’ll notice that our desires tend to fall into four major categories: physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual — the desire beyond all desires, the door to the Interior Castle. This isn’t about condemning desire, but about learning the proper order of it — so we can live a more peaceful, grounded, and fulfilling life. Too often, we ignore or completely shut the door to our spiritual life while letting other desires take the lead.Join me as we explore why all desires must be funneled through the spiritual if we want to experience true wholeness.....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

The Three Ordinary Voices of God (Part 1): Desire
Welcome back to A Little More Inspired! In this episode, I’m diving into the Third Ordinary Voice of God — the voice of desire. Desire is one of the most powerful forces shaping our lives — yet it’s also one of the most misunderstood. We’re taught that desire is just an urge, a feeling we’re supposed to follow impulsively, with no discernment or wisdom. Most people will tell you, “Just follow your desires,” but not every desire is worth following. If we were meant to follow every urge and impulse, we wouldn’t be any different from animals. We’re conscious beings, and we’ve been given a conscience — an inner knowing of right and wrong. Our mission is to learn to desire well, because the world will always try to lead us down the path of shallow desires that leave us feeling empty, scattered, and chasing external validation. Deeper desires lead us toward lasting fulfillment, peace, and joy. And eventually, as we become more focused on our deeper desires, we discover the desire beyond all desires — the yearning for God in our lives.....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

The Wound of Being Misunderstood: A Personal Reflection
Welcome back to A Little More Inspired! ✨The other day, I woke up at like 6 AM — before I even had to get ready for work — with this immediate urge to write. The words were spilling out of me like an itch I needed to scratch. I was almost late to work, and I even forgot my phone, but I couldn’t help it… I just needed to get every word out. I love those creative pings.Sometimes I feel this shadow hovering over me , this fear I can’t quite shake off. I’ve felt misunderstood my entire life, and over time, that starts to erode you from the inside. There’s a bitterness that simmers in the heart, an anger that rises when you think about how unfairly you’ve been treated. You keep hoping you’ll find meaning in it all… that if you can just understand the why, you’ll finally be able to let it go.But sometimes…there is no why — only acceptance. This piece is an overview of my journey of overcoming the wound of rejection and the wound of being misunderstood. I always tell people: healing is a slow process. Sometimes you have to go through things, and you have to be open to the lessons those experiences bring, for it to finally get through your big hard head what truly matters.God has given me a new confidence. He’s sealed my healing by showing me true love and by healing the unworthiness the world so desperately wanted to keep me in.This piece is just a personal reflection. Writing is where I release my anger, my feelings, my clarity. So how I feel about this today might feel different tomorrow. I’m not stuck — I’m just allowing truth to move through me.It is a bit long, so I hope you leave feeling a little more inspired. 💛...✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

The Quiet Miracle of Adoration: The Clarity I Found While on a Pilgrimage in Mexico
Welcome back to A Little More Inspired! ✨On this episode, I’m reading a personal piece I recently wrote, reflecting on my moments of clarity while on a trip to Mexico. It’s been about a year since I published my first blog post and shared my work with the world. So much has happened in this year of growth and creative exploration.Posting my content hasn’t always been easy — I share a lot about myself and continue to trust that my creative pings have a purpose, rather than just being words released into the void of the internet. This journey began after a creative breakup — and it’s taken courage to keep showing up, to share myself without shame, and to measure progress by the change within me rather than the attention my posts receive. If I measure my growth by validation, I’ll always be disappointed. My time in adoration this past year has guided me into moments of deep clarity — teaching me to simply sit with God and let Him change me. Even though life isn’t perfect, I’ve learned to find joy in the everyday moments. My trip to Mexico helped me see how my priorities have shifted — aligning more with what’s truly good for me, rather than what the world deems impressive. I hope you enjoy this reflection. It’s a little long, but I pray it leaves you feeling a little more inspired. 💛...✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

Learning to Be Seen: A Journey Through Fear, Intimacy, and Love
Welcome back to A Little More Inspired! ✨In this episode, I open up about my journey with vulnerability and the spiritual lessons that have shaped me. From childhood memories to adult reflections, I share what healing has looked like for me — the unlearning, the self-awareness, and the beauty of becoming more grounded in who I truly am.I talk about intimacy — the kind that requires honesty, patience, and courage. I reflect on how childhood patterns influenced the way I related to love, connection, and emotional safety, and how choosing to heal has transformed the kind of love I’m open to now.I share the fears I’ve confronted, the clarity God has shown me, and the ways I’ve learned to stand in my worth even when it felt uncomfortable. This episode is an invitation to pause and reflect alongside me if you feel called to — to honor your own growth, to give yourself grace, and to remember that healing doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. The Three Ordinary Voices of God (Part 1): Talents
Welcome back to A Little More Inspired ! In this episode, I’m diving into the Second Ordinary Voice of God — the Voice of Talents. Many of us grow up thinking only a few people are truly gifted, and if our lives don’t look extraordinary, we assume we aren’t either. But every person is born with unique, God-given talents that are connected to their purpose and mission in this life. The real question is: What is your one thing?Your genius isn’t about fame or achievement — it’s about discovering who you are, why you’re here, and using your gifts in a way that brings joy and peace to your soul. Two signs you’ve found it? Joy, and a feeling of timelessness when you’re doing it.I recorded this episode with so much joy, and I hope it inspires you to discover and celebrate the genius within you. 💛....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

Pt. 2 What Aren't Needs & The Happiness Paradox | The Three Ordinary Voices of God Series
Welcome back to a new episode of A Little More Inspired. I’m so excited to continue my series on The Three Ordinary Voices of God by Matthew Kelly. In Part 2, we’re diving deeper into the first ordinary voice: the Voice of Needs. In this episode, I explore what aren’t real needs, and unpack the Happiness Paradox—why getting what we want often doesn’t truly satisfy.I’ll walk through some of the biggest myth-busters about needs versus wants. Needs sustain life and keep us grounded—physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Wants can be good, but when they take the driver’s seat, they often distract us, enslave us, or even lead us to compromise our values. As Matthew Kelly reminds us, listening to our needs builds wisdom and freedom. But chasing wants without discernment often leaves us dissatisfied and restless. As always, my hope is that this episode leaves you thinking, reflecting, and feeling a little more inspired.....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

A Call to Personal Responsibility: Seeking Truth in the Midst of Chaos
Hi friends, and welcome back to A Little More Inspired. In today’s episode, I’m sharing a reflection I wrote called A Call to Personal Responsibility: Seeking Truth in the Midst of Chaos. It’s about what it really means to live our faith in a time when so many voices are loud, misleading, or even filled with hate.I talk about performative Christianity, the danger of following leaders who twist God’s name for power, and why true faith is not about feelings or appearances, but about action, humility, and seeking God for ourselves. This one is passionate and maybe a little uncomfortable, but my hope is that it inspires you to turn inward, to build your own relationship with God, and to take responsibility for how you live your faith in the world. Rediscovering My Faith on My Own Terms: A Personal Reflection
Hi Friend! Welcome back to another episode of A Little More Inspired! In this episode, I am reflecting on my personal journey with Christian faith. I feel there are a lot of voices nowadays that can cause us to feel ashamed of our faith, or maybe we’ve stepped away and are rediscovering what our faith means to us. This is my story and a reflection on my lived experience of the ups and downs of my personal faith. There are so many people who use faith for division and cruelty. I simply want to offer my voice as another perspective. I share carefully because I never want to influence anyone in a negative way. My encouragement is always to look within and to seek a personal relationship with God—not with me.At the end of the day, I’m just a creative who seeks to fulfill the desire to create and to inspire. Faith, Politics & Finding Your Own Way: A Conversation with Sandra Tindle
Hi Friend! Welcome back to another episode of A Little More Inspired! This is Part 2 of my conversation with my beautiful friend Sandra Tindle—and in this episode, we’re diving into a topic that’s personal, complex, and honestly… long overdue: religion and its growing influence on American life.Sandra and I both grew up in deeply religious households, and those early experiences shaped so much of how we saw ourselves, the world, and even what we believed about God, morality, and identity. But as we’ve grown older, both of us have taken intentional steps to re-examine what we were taught, ask hard questions, and form our own beliefs—something we don’t often see encouraged in many modern Christian spaces. We talk about the patterns we’ve noticed, how hyper-religious views can influence political opinions, create division, and sometimes even distract from the heart of faith itself. But we also speak from a place of compassion and curiosity. This isn’t a debate; it’s a reflection between two women who are still learning, still unlearning, and still holding space for spirituality in a rapidly shifting world. If you haven’t listened to Part 1 yet, definitely check it out to hear more about Sandra’s inspiring journey as an educator. As always, I hope this episode leaves you thinking, reflecting, and feeling a little more inspired.....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

Envy & Jealousy: The Spiritual Wound No One Talks About
Hi everyone! Welcome back to a new episode of A Little More Inspired. In today’s episode, I’ll be exploring the spiritual wounds of envy and jealousy. They say that by envy and jealousy, death entered the world. When the prince of the earth, once a bearer of light, the most beautiful angel, learned of God’s plan to create fragile beings, humans. That He would one day become one of us and die for His love for us.That angel was overcome with envy.“How could God create beings so unworthy? How could He love them more than me?”He refused to serve, believing we humans were beneath him, mere peasants. So, his pride cast him down to the earth, where he now roams, trying to corrupt our hearts through the very same vice that corrupted his: envy.We live in a time where ego floods everything.Everyone is trying to prove they’re smarter, richer, prettier, more powerful, and in that illusion, we lose ourselves. Turning our souls into battlegrounds in the race for superiority. But this is all false.God’s love is unconditional—far beyond our understanding.Waking up from the illusion of envy and jealousy is essential for spiritual growth.Finding humility, and constantly working to resist the temptation to fall back into ignorance, is how we evolve.Join me as I share my personal journey with unpacking my wounds around envy and jealousy, and how it’s shaped my life. Because in this world, we have to develop a strong sense of self to make it through in one piece. We live in a society that will try to strip you of your light if you’re naïve or unaware of your value. Learning to recognize envy and jealousy—both in ourselves and in others—is how we protect our spirit and stay in the game of life without losing our morals or integrity.I hope you enjoy this episode of A Little More Inspired.Books Mentioned: Green Eyes by Mariah PerryThe Imitation of Mary....✨ Stay Connected & Inspired! ✨🌐 Website: alittlemoreinspired.com📸 Instagram: @alittlemoreinspired📧 Email: [email protected]....“music by penguinmusic - "Better Day from Pixabay”

Pt. 1 St. Teresa of Avila’s The Interior Castle: Early Struggles of a Wandering Soul
Welcome to a new episode of A Little More Inspired.Over the past couple of months, I’ve fallen in love with a 16th-century Spanish Christian writer, poet, mystic, and Carmelite nun—St. Teresa of Avila. I discovered her and her teachings during a time of deep transition, not just in my worldly life, but spiritually as well. She entered my life as if to answer the questions and inner turmoil I hadn’t yet been able to name. Her divine wisdom and writings have profoundly moved me and helped me take the next steps in my spiritual journey. Her poem "Nada te turbe" (Let nothing disturb you) and her spiritual masterpiece The Interior Castle have brought me comfort and confirmation that the path I’ve been walking these past few years is real, and deeply meaningful.Because I create from a place of learning and inspiration, I’ve decided to turn The Interior Castle into a mini-series—breaking down the soul’s journey toward union with Divine Consciousness. In this episode, I’ll be diving into the early struggles of a wandering soul, before it even senses the light of something greater. I’ll also share a brief reflection on why the first three mansions are often described as a kind of spiritual purgatory—a space I believe many of us dwell in during our lifetimes.I hope you enjoy learning about St. Teresa of Avila as much as I have. Whether you’re just beginning your spiritual journey or have been walking this path for years, her wisdom has something beautiful to offer us all.....I’ve also listed below all the books mentioned in today’s episode. The Spiritual Teachings of St. Teresa of Avila: Her Life and The Interior Castle
Hi Friend!Thank you for joining me for today’s episode of A Little More Inspired! In today’s discussion, we’ll be diving into my most recent hyperfixation—the life and teachings of St. Teresa of Avila. St. Teresa was an incredible 16th-century Catholic mystic and saint who profoundly influenced Christian spirituality with her writings, poetry, and supernatural mystical insights. She was a Spanish Carmelite nun who wrote in great detail about the path of the soul through deep contemplation. Her writings have helped many understand the journey of the soul after its initial spiritual awakening, and the seven levels the soul can travel through while on earth.I’ve truly loved learning about St. Teresa of Avila, and her teachings have deeply moved me, helping me understand my own spiritual path in ways I’ve never seen before. St. Teresa didn’t start off as your typical saint. She was a highly intelligent woman who struggled with the desires of the world while being deeply called to her spiritual path. Her honesty and authenticity really stand out to me, and I’ve seen myself reflected in her own internal struggles.I hope you enjoy learning about St. Teresa of Avila as much as I have. I believe that anyone on the spiritual path, regardless of where you are on that road, can benefit from the wisdom of this amazing saint. Enjoy!....I’ve also listed below all the books mentioned in today’s episode. Beware of the False: Lessons from St. Thomas Aquinas on Wolves, Hirelings, and Shepherds
Hello Friend! Thank you for joining me on today’s episode of A Little More Inspired! On this episode, I will be diving into a medieval sermon I stumbled upon by St. Thomas Aquinas, called Beware of The False. I found the sermon to be deeply inspiring, moving, and very relevant to today's modern times. The sermon begins with the concept that "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak," and explores how wrongdoing can arise from both the flesh and the spirit. The flesh leads us down paths of self-indulgence and lack of boundaries. But what about the spirit? How does the spirit lead us into wrongdoing? St. Thomas explains that this happens when the spirit is deceived because of its own ignorance. St. Thomas Aquinas was a spiritual leader who sought to build a bridge between reason and faith, believing that both must work hand in hand to maintain balance. His sermon emphasizes the mistakes we can make when our spirit is left to ignorance. We become limited, unable to discern the authenticity of individuals who may not mean us well. In this sermon, St. Thomas breaks down the three types of people we encounter in this world: the Shepherds, the Wolves, and the Hirelings. Join me as I share what I learned from this insightful sermon that left me feeling super inspired. I hope this leaves you feeling a little more inspired. Finding Clarity: Exploring The Three Ordinary Voices of God
Hello, Friend!Thank you for joining me on today’s episode of A Little More Inspired! In this episode, we’re diving deep into the first chapter of The Three Ordinary Voices of God by Matthew Kelly. This book was a gift from my sister, who recommended it for its profound wisdom and insight. I was captivated by Matthew Kelly’s approach to finding guidance and wisdom through our inner spiritual world and learning to truly listen to our intuition. In this chapter, we’ll explore the concept of a "mislived life"—how many of us find ourselves lost in the "shoulds" of life, only to realize we’re not exactly where we want to be. Join me as we break down the steps to listening to our intuition through the three ordinary voices of God: our needs, talents, and desires. This is just the beginning—part 1 of a series—because there’s simply too much goodness to fit into one episode! I hope this leaves you feeling a little more inspired.
