Whose Shame Are You Carrying
What’s up and thank you for joining us. On this episode of a Safe Space Between Friends we are discussing Shame. What is it? Where do we get it? How does it affect us? Most importantly, how do we do shed it? Scripture: Zephaniah 3:19-20 “At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they have suffered shame. At that time, I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes.” says the Lord. Shame was never meant to be ours. Shame is not of God. Thank you to all of our listeners for your valuable time. If you have any questions or topic requests, our email is asafespacebetweenfriends@gmailcom And remember if you need a safe place, 988 is accessible 24/7/365 via call and text. Until next week, Friends, be a safe space for someone else.

Check on Your Strong Friends
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Do you know someone who always seems to have it together? Someone who is always on the grind and making things happen? A person who is always smiling, showing a happy disposition at all times and always encouraging others? When was the last time you checked in on them? Sometimes the strongest person may be struggling with something (big or small) in silence and we don’t know. In this episode, we discuss how and when to check in and show there can be zero pressure attached to it. Just a simple text can go a long way. There may be different reasons why a strong friend won’t reach out or ask for help so let’s practice checking in on a regular. Also, if you ever need someone to talk to, 988 is accessible 24/7/365 via call and text. You can also call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225.
