  41. 12

    Eat. Exercise. Enjoy. Empathize.

E-Eat & Exercise, Enjoy the Moment, Empathy energized transformationBodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, 1 Timothy 4:8Jesus said, “I am the bread of Life, whoever comes to me shall not hunger." John 6:35 Eat. Do you realize that food is fuel for your body? You are what you eat. The difference between a queen honey bee and a worker bee is nutrition, the royal jelly fed to queen larvae. Like all insects, bees progress through the life cycle of egg, larvae, pupae, and adult. Honeybees reveal the complexity of creation and design with purpose. Humans can benefit by learning more about honeybees.Nutrition is essential for humans. People are encouraged to eat natural, unprocessed foods in our fast food culture, and to consider adding natural food supplements to their diet. Eating healthy is a priority, and time spent together preparing meals and eating together builds family communication and relationships. Examine your own eating habits, and be open to better nutrition packed alternatives.Exercise. The book Younger Next Year by Chris Crowley and Henry S. Lodge M.D. challenged my husband and me to work out hard (45-60 minutes) every day, so our bodies know we are not dying yet. Due to electricity and automobiles, humans do not use much muscle strength in daily life. In each decade, people seem to gain ten pounds and lose 10% of their muscle mass. After age 43, the youth factor is gone. After age 50, physical exercise should become part of your daily work. By age 65, one may be 30 pounds heavier with 30% muscle mass lost. Exercise can help one lose excess weight, restore muscle mass, and help one feel better and younger. Exercise is profitable, releases pleasure hormones, and invigorates life.Enjoy the moment. Often in times of stress, trauma, or loss, one focuses on the past. You cannot change the past. You can only change the present. Worry or tension results from focusing on the future, on tomorrow, or next week, or next year. You can plan for the future, but can only change the future by changing today. Focus on the day. Breathe deeply. Observe the sky, the weather, the changes in your yard and neighborhood. When the weather permits, do something outside in nature. Focus on what you can do today. Visit farms and gardens to collect and process fresh seasonal produce. Prepare healthy meals. Celebrate something every day. Practice gratitude. Embrace empathy. Notice people and practice kindness. Lighten the burden of someone else. Consider the honeybees. Honeybees work in community, helping one another and each doing their part. Reach out to people in your own community. Call a friend, schedule a walk or bike ride. Exercise together. Plan a meal with others. Listen. Notice how others are contributing and compliment them. Be willing to help. Be gracious to yourself and others. Your moment in time can become sweet as honey.God- I AM Eternal, Everlasting, Identical in Essence, EnergyNew Identity: energetic, eternal united with Christ, encourager, empty-nester, generating endorphins.Picture: Honeybees at roadside garden, Eagles’ Nest, Germany
