Walking Between Two Worlds: A Grounded Conversation on Shamanism with Leslie Wolf Baker
There are ways of knowing that don’t come through logic alone. Intuition, dreams, synchronicity, energy, and the quiet inner signals many of us have been taught to dismiss can all become pathways back to ourselves. In this episode, Heather sits down with Leslie Wolf Baker to explore shamanism through a grounded, accessible lens. Leslie describes shamanism as “walking between two worlds” - the practical world we live in each day and the deeper unseen world of intuition, energy, dreams, and spirit. Together, they explore altered states of consciousness, the healing potential of theta brain states, dream symbolism, spirit guides, power animals, and the role of gratitude in daily life. Leslie also shares her personal path from law librarian to psychotherapist and shamanic practitioner, and how grief became a doorway into deeper remembering. If you’ve ever sensed there is more to life than what can be measured, this conversation offers a thoughtful invitation to trust your own inner knowing and reconnect with the wisdom already within you. Creating with Intention: Designing a Life of Purpose with Satya Scainetti
Sometimes the path we think we’re meant to follow quietly shifts, and something deeper begins to emerge. In this episode, Heather is joined by Satya Scainetti, founder of Satya Jewelry, whose journey from social work to spiritual entrepreneurship unfolded through intuition and a powerful inner calling. Satya shares how moments of uncertainty (including witnessing 9/11) led her toward meditation, yoga, and ultimately a dream that inspired her to create jewelry rooted in intention, healing, and truth. What began as a creative expression evolved into a purpose-led business, one that not only inspires personal growth, but also gives back to children around the world through the Satya Foundation. This conversation explores trusting intuitive guidance, creating with intention, and designing a life that blends creativity, purpose, and service. Meaningful work doesn’t always follow a straight line. But when we follow what feels true, we often find ways to both express ourselves and make an impact beyond what we imagined. Gratitude Changes Everything: Celebrating the First Year of Becoming Spiritual
This special anniversary episode marks one year of the Becoming Spiritual podcast, and for Heather, a powerful moment to celebrate one of the most foundational practices woven through every conversation: gratitude. In this solo reflection, Heather shares how gratitude has shaped her life over the past year as a daily practice that supports mental clarity, emotional resilience, and a deeper connection to self. She explores both the science and the lived experience of gratitude, including how it can shift perspective, regulate the nervous system, rewire the brain and help move through difficult moments with greater steadiness. If you’re navigating uncertainty, seeking more presence, or simply wanting to feel more connected to your life as it is, this episode offers simple, grounded ways to begin or deepen your own gratitude practice, elevate your vibration and invite more peace and joy into your life. Healing Is Within You: Relearning How We Heal Through the Mind-Body-Spirit Connection with Dr Eric Lake
What if healing isn’t something we need to seek externally, but something we already carry within us? In this episode, Heather is joined by Dr. Eric Lake, an osteopathic physician who bridges traditional medicine with energetic and spiritual healing. Together, they explore the body as an intelligent, interconnected system, where structure, emotion, belief, and energy all play a role in how we experience health. Dr. Lake shares his journey from conventional sports medicine into a more holistic, intuitive approach to healing, including the pivotal life (and near-death) experiences that reshaped his understanding of the body and its capacity to restore itself. This conversation invites listeners to reconsider what healing really means. From the role of belief and nervous system regulation to the subtle ways energy flows through the body, this episode offers a grounded yet expansive perspective on wellness that reminds us that healing starts with us, and may be far more accessible than we’ve been taught to believe. About Dr. Eric Lake Dr. Eric Lake, DO, is an osteopathic physician who blends traditional medical training with holistic and energy-based approaches to healing. Navigating Endings: Embracing the Void and Finding Stillness in the Unknown with Rima Bonario
What happens when the life you carefully built no longer feels aligned? In this deeply reflective conversation, Heather sits down with writer, teacher, and consciousness scholar Dr. Rima Bonario to explore the profound spiritual territory of endings. Rima shares her personal experience of stepping away from a thriving body of work, navigating the end of a long-term relationship, and entering what she describes as “the fertile void”: a space where identity, certainty, and familiar structures begin to dissolve. Together they explore how listening to the wisdom of the body can guide us through major life transitions, why endings are an essential part of every cycle of growth, and how our culture often resists the natural rhythms of creation and dissolution. Rather than rushing to rebuild, Rima invites us to stay present with uncertainty and trust the deeper intelligence unfolding beneath it. If you’ve ever felt yourself standing between chapters, unsure of what comes next, this conversation offers reassurance, perspective, and a powerful reminder that sometimes the most important transformation happens in the quiet space where something has ended, but the next beginning has not yet appeared. Episode Resources Book: The Fourth Turning Is Here (2023) by Neil Howe About Dr. Rima Bonario Dr. Rima Bonario is a writer and teacher exploring attentional sovereignty, graceful endings, and Keeper Work - the practice of remaining human and coherent during times of profound change. Redefining Power: How to Move Beyond Fear and Awaken the Leader Within with Emily Frieze-Kemeny
Power. It’s a word that can feel charged, heavy, even triggering. We’re taught from a young age that power lives outside of us, in institutions, in titles, in money, in authority figures. But what if that definition is incomplete? What if the discomfort we feel around power is actually an invitation to redefine it? In this episode, Heather sits down with Emily Frieze-Kemeny to explore how power shapes our world (from corporate systems to family dynamics) and how it quietly shapes us. Together, they unpack why traditional models of “power over” create isolation, fear, and disconnection, and how those patterns show up not just in leadership, but in our own nervous systems. This conversation bridges neuroscience and spirituality, offering a deeper understanding of why we feel controlled at times, and how we begin reclaiming our sovereignty. If you’ve been feeling the cracks in old systems… if you’ve been questioning authority, your career, or your place in the world… this conversation is an invitation to remember that true power is presence. And it starts within. About Emily Frieze-Kemeny Emily is the CEO and Founder of the leadership and organizational change consulting and coaching firm, AROSE Group. The Healing Power of Community: What Happens at a Spiritual Retreat with Heather and Crystal
What really happens at a spiritual retreat? In this special episode, Crystal Roberts and I sit down to talk about the transformative power of spiritual retreats: why we feel so called to them, what actually happens in these containers, and why community is such a vital part of healing and personal growth. We share our own experiences attending and hosting retreats, the magic that unfolds when like-minded souls come together, and how retreats create space for vulnerability, integration, deep connection, and unexpected transformation. We talk about the energy of the land, the importance of being present in nature, and why sometimes the most powerful shifts happen in between the scheduled sessions... around the fire, in the kitchen at midnight, or during quiet moments by the water. We also share details about our upcoming retreat in Arkansas (held during Beltane and under the full moon) and the ceremonies, channeling, cacao, reiki, water rituals, and spacious integration time we’ve intentionally woven into the experience. Whether you’re considering joining us, curious about what really happens at a spiritual retreat, or simply feeling called to deeper community in your life, this episode is an invitation to explore what becomes possible when we gather with open hearts. x Heather JOIN US ON RETREAT IN MAY If you’ve been craving deeper connection beyond the podcast, Heather and Crystal are excited to welcome you to their Ley Lines of Your Spirit Retreat in Arkansas on May 1-3. Exploring Holistic Healing (Part 1): From Divorce to Inner Strength and Self-Discovery with Crystal Roberts
In this episode, I’m joined by Crystal Roberts for Part 1 of a special two-part conversation exploring holistic healing, personal transformation and what it really means to trust the path as it unfolds. Crystal is a registered nurse with a deep respect for both science and spirituality, and a belief that true healing often lives at the intersection of many modalities. Alongside her nursing background, Crystal works intuitively with energy, sound, and Spirit to support deep, grounded healing. In Part 1, we focus on Crystal’s personal journey, from working in traditional healthcare to stepping into a more intuitive and holistic role. She also shares how the heartbreak of divorce became a powerful catalyst for self-discovery, inner strength, and ultimately, living more fully in alignment with her purpose. We talk about identity shifts, navigating uncertainty, and how life’s hardest experiences can open the door to profound healing when we allow them to shape us rather than shut us down. And while today’s episode centers on Crystal’s story, this is just the beginning. In Part 2, Crystal joins me for a channeled conversation, offering guidance for the collective and insight into the energies ahead... coming next week as a special extra episode. x Heather Episode Resources Book: A Hypnotist's Journey to Avalon by Sarah Bresman Cosme Connect with Crystal Website: www.WatermelonWellness.com (coming soon) Instagram: @WatermelonWellness_ Connect with Heather Visit the Becoming Spiritual website Follow us on Instagram @becomingspiritualpodcast Follow us on Facebook @becomingspiritualpodcast Subscribe on Youtube @becomingspiritualpodcast If this episode resonated with you, we’d love for you to follow, rate, or share the show. My Explant Journey (Part 2): Understanding Breast Implant Illness and Healing Through Empowerment
In this second part of my explant story, Natalie and I shift from the personal to the educational, exploring what I’ve learned about Breast Implant Illness (BII), the healing process, and what I wish I had known before ever getting implants. When I started researching BII, I began connecting the dots between so many things I had been experiencing, like gut issues, inflammation, low blood pressure, and a constant sense that something just wasn’t right in my body. Like so many women, my symptoms were often dismissed or misunderstood, and I had to learn to trust my intuition above all else. In this episode, I share what I discovered about how implants can affect our health, the questions I wish I’d asked before getting them, and the importance of listening to your body’s signals. We also talk about recovery after explant and the importance of having support as you move through the healing process. My hope is that this conversation helps you feel more informed and empowered, whether you have implants, are considering them, or are simply on your own path toward deeper self-awareness and healing. x Heather P.S. My Explant Journey (Part 1): A Personal Story of Healing and Coming Home to Myself
In this first of a two-part conversation, I’m sitting in the guest seat to share something deeply personal: my explant journey. For around 15 years, I lived with breast implants. I got them for reasons I understand now with a lot more compassion - to feel more confident, more “enough.” But over time, my body and spirit began to speak in ways I could no longer ignore, through the physical symptoms of Breast Implant Illness, and the inner voice that telling me I was ready to let them go. This episode isn’t just about surgery; it’s about self-awareness, healing, and the courage to listen to your body’s quiet wisdom. In this raw and personal conversation, Natalie and I explore what led me to get implants, what ultimately guided me to remove them, and the emotional, physical, and spiritual transformation that followed. My hope in sharing this story is to inform, empower, and remind you that your body is always communicating with you, and that coming home to yourself, in all your natural wholeness, is the most powerful act of self-love there is. I hope you enjoy the episode, and I encourage you to share it with anyone in your world who may benefit from hearing it. Thank you for receiving my story with love. We discuss personal relationships with the divine, the fluidity of belief systems, and how spirituality intersects with religion (or doesn’t). We also talk about the importance of love, connection, and compassion, and why spiritual growth happens in its own time. Whether you're just beginning your spiritual journey or deep in exploration, this conversation invites you to define spirituality in a way that resonates with you.
