You Didn’t Lose Your Why… You Lost Your Connection
Most athletes and leaders think they’ve “lost their why.”But that’s not the truth. In this episode of Becoming Steadfast, we break down what’s actually happening when motivation fades in the middle of a season—and how great leaders respond differently. This conversation introduces the concept of your Point of Connection—the reminder that your life, your leadership, and your platform were never meant to revolve around you.Because the moment everything becomes about you… is the moment you lose your edge.Great leaders don’t wait to “feel it” again. They realign. They zoom out. They reconnect to who they serve. They remember the mission is bigger than their current emotions. If you’re in the grind right now… tired, disconnected, or just going through the motions—this episode will reset your focus and get you back to leading with purpose.

Expanding Your Window of Tolerance
What is your window of tolerance? In psychology, the window of tolerance is the range where we can handle stress, pressure, and adversity while still staying composed, thoughtful, and grounded. Inside that window, we’re able to think clearly, lead well, and respond instead of react. But when life pushes us outside of it, we either move into anxiety and frustration… or we shut down and disengage.Athletes experience this all the time — a bad shift, a tough loss, an injury, criticism from a coach, or pressure in a big moment. Leaders feel it too when things aren’t going according to plan.So the real question isn’t how to avoid stress… it’s how to grow our window of tolerance so we can stay steady when life gets hard. That’s exactly what we’re going to talk about today through James 5. In this chapter, James challenges believers to develop endurance, patience, prayer, and community — practices that actually expand our ability to stay grounded when pressure hits.Because becoming steadfast isn’t about avoiding trials… It’s about becoming the kind of person who can stand firm in the middle of them.Let’s dive in.

We also tackle one of the most overlooked battlegrounds in performance: self-talk, and why elite performers must learn to become their own biggest fan.If you want to lead with greater clarity, courage, and consistency — this conversation will challenge how you speak, how you lead, and how you think.🎧 Tune in and learn how to use your words to build, not burn.

Identity Over Outcomes🎙
Most athletes and leaders chase results — wins, stats, recognition. But that’s the weakest layer of growth. In this episode, we’ll break down the 3 layers of transformation:Outcome (outer layer): The goals you chase — winning games, earning awards, hitting numbers. Important, but fragile if it’s all you focus on.Process (middle layer): The systems and habits — your training, recovery, nutrition, journaling, routines. More stable, but still incomplete if you stop here.Identity (core layer): Who you believe you are becoming. The kind of athlete, leader, or person who consistently shows up prepared and honors their standard. When you root your life in identity, the process becomes natural and the outcomes take care of themselves. This is how leaders and athletes build long-term greatness.
