    Exiles - Session 9 - The Upside-Down Kingdom

    In this lesson we look at Peter's call to holy living based on Jesus' example and how it applies to husbands, wives, and each other.  Peter calls us to do good and endure suffering which is about to break out against the Church.  We look at the beginning of organized persecution of Christians.     In this lesson we look at the Jewish vs. the Christian response to Hellenism and Rome.  We cover the Great Revolt in its heartbreaking detail.     Today we examine Hellenism, the great culture battle instituted by Alexander the Great, following the return of the Jewish people from exile.  We are continuing to look at God's desired covenantal relationship with his people, which is a life fully dependent on him.  We look at the various ways that the Jewish people responded to this challenge and consider implications for us today.
