Question the Narrative
It's been a long, trying week for Brandi, but she is in the studio sharing her piece. Why do folks believe everything they read, whether it is from gossip or a news platform? What happens when all the information is not presented? Brandi dives into why she believe folks are so quick to accept negative information they hear about people who identify as Black. What are the structural pieces to why this is the case? How do we catch ourselves when we do it, too? Listen in to Brandi's thoughts on this topic as well as her reactions to the election results from this week. Brandi Grayson is joined in-studio by Dana Pellebon, executive director of RCC, for the hour. Pretty Privilege and the Psyche of Racism
Brandi Grayson returns to the mic after a break, dissecting the insidious nature of racism and the psyche behind it, drawing on insights from Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison. Through personal anecdotes and community updates, Brandi weaves a narrative of resistance, resilience, and the stark realities of race and privilege.

We cover controversial topics, from religion to race and from relationships to policies to legislation. Join the finest hostess with the most-ess Brandi Grayson every week. On this weekend's edition of the show, Brandi opens up about the emotional impact that doing the work she does in Madison and greater Dane County takes on her. It is not the instigators that constantly nitpick at the work looking for her to slip up that bothers her the most on weeks like this. No, it is the silence that she hears from the folks that benefit from the work she does for and in the community. That silence is deafening. We share a clip from Louis Farrakhan, about how the message that people who identify as black has remained the same for decades, and how even though those doing the work to address the black agenda's work is not always lauded by the community, it is important work that must continue. She cannot just mail it in, but rather constantly be doing the work and be able to prove she is doing the work. The show then shares clips of how similar instances can happen even to elected officials who show up in places that are not traditionally created for strong, black women, like Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). Even she faces the institutions of white supremacy in her work in Congress. The People Need More Money
Brandi and Clyde start off this week's show reflecting on the fun and fulfilling time they had at the Harvest fest put on by Urban Triage last week. Brandi then responds to an article written by the Cap Times about her organization, painting it in a bad light for running out of money, instead explaining that 1) they needed more money to start with, and 2) cost overruns were accidental, and there is a plan to pay the county back. The pair also dive into Black love, how it is political, and how they have been showing self-love and self-care the past week. The discussion turns to love shared amongst others, and how it is important within the Black community, to uplift people and heal trauma. Wrapping up this week's show, Brandi and Clyde talk the debate this week, make fun of Trump, and remain puzzled about how Black people, and men in particular, can support him.
