Over the past decade or so, there's been a lot of discussion about "faith deconstruction." But if the church is so broken (and it really, really is), why aren't we talking about deconstructing Church itself? Well, we should be.

Church exists to protect and promote itself, and has hurt uncountable people in the process. By its very nature and aims, it can never be a safe space...for anyone.

The Bible is many things, but it isn't an accurate rendering of chronological history. EB Rowan talks about the misuse of the Bible when it's employed as a history textbook rather than a source of inspiration and storytelling.

Church was never meant to look the way it does today: megachurches, megamoney, megacorruption, megamismanagement. Churches were meant to be small, intimate gatherings dedicated to helping Christians serve their communities and spread the gospel, not become the bloated, empty edifices sucking our faith dry of resources  and time and the gifts we've been given.
