Called to Follow Jesus

How?

Isaiah 53 is clearly about Jesus suffering on the cross. Wounded and beaten for our sin (transgressions & iniquities) This is perhaps the most amazing prophecy found in Old Testament about Jesus. Chapter 53 is one reason that Isaiah has been called "The Fifth Gospel"    

1. Learn to trust the Lord 2. Get alone with God 3. Deny Yourself 4. Take up The Cup of Suffering These are some of the ways that you can follow Jesus. If you are His you will follow Him; if not, then you will just look for the Lord to do something for you,,

All followers of Jesus are to be set apart for His purposes. He had a plan for you, even before He created the universe...Ephesians 2:10 Being Sanctified means to be set apart for a purpose...His purpose If you are in His will in this, then you experience the "Abundant Life" that Jesus promised. We have a Biblical History of family turning on God's people; Cain and Abel, Moab and Ammon (Abraham's great nephews), Moab (Jacobs Brother) all of these turned against the descendants of Abraham Jesus also prophesied that families would divide agaisnt each other because one would follow Jesus and the other would not, I experienced this in my life with one of my sons. But God will work all of this out...In many ways He already has...

Scripture tells us that the Father gave Jesus the authority to Judge all mankind, The non-believers at the Great White Throne Judgement Seat And The Christian to be judged at the Judgement Seat of Christ..aka the Beema Seat,,,for what you did with the life He gave you, No one will escape this, so live each day for Him..

Jesus said,"it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God" Matthew 19:24 This warning is not taken seriously by most wealthy Believers today. Especially for the wealthy pastors.  Perhaps those who have much more than they need should listen to the warning of Jesus. I mean, if you claim He is your Lord, perhaps you should at least think on and pray about the things you do with your life..This includes your wealth and treasure

Essentials of Christianity (Part 2) or A Deeper Dive It is difficult for "churched" people to truly grasp what is meant by essentials. We are to be firm on the essential teachings of Christianity, and give much grace for the non-essential ones. To obey Jesus in His call for unity in the Body of Christ; we focus only on these necessary doctrines... In The Pursuit of God, AW Tozer noted that "We must strip down to essentials (and they will be found to be blessedly few".

Here in the Philippines we have all kinds of kids and youth coming to our Bible studies. Some are Catholic, and many are Protestant. More of them are probably nothing in particular, We do not teach Church, we teach Jesus. This way we can reach all the folks. That is why we are not a "Church"  

The Lord equips some for the High Places where He dwells He gives hind's feet as well as wings of eagles to those who give Him their heart. As He guides us through the valleys of despair with sorrow and suffering as our guides. He leads us out to a rich abundant life..

There is more to the phrase "our daily bread" than food and God's Word. The things that one needs daily to follow Lord go much deeper. There are five fundamental ways to see what we need from the Lord each day. Let's get into it.

Matthew 7 tells us not to judge folks..But there is a caveat. We are to do something first before we are able to help others with the things we discern in them; by first letting the Holy Spirit judge, then help us.. All will be judged: The non-believer judged unto damnation The Believer judged for how we spent our lives..2 Corinthians 5:9-11  

The documentary evidence of Scripture is amazing. The Bible is very accurate. Every word is "God Breathed" Listen to this short history of the Bible to learn more about the ancient book that has changed so many lives. You must know that the Bible contains the actual words God wants you to read and learn. This is a necessary first step in following the Lord, to know His ways.

We often use 2 Chronicles 7:14..The famous "If my people" prayer. We always take this out of context and do not realize that there is also a curse attached to this prayer. Who are "His people" that are "called by His name" anyway?

The story of how God called me out of drug and alcohol addiction; out of New Age Occultism, out of the demonic realms. It was amazing all that the Lord did when He came after me. A pretty good story, which does not show how spiritual I am. We look for God in our religious rituals, sacraments, liturgies, and traditions. While He may be in those, He is also in us. He doesn't need traditional religion to have  a relationship with us, Unless we define true religion as   "Communion with the living God" ,                 Henry Scougal,,...the Life of God in the Soul of Man  

Though the world is looking for the large things: The most popular ministries, the biggest gatherings, the famous ones. God is often not in those things. When God's chosen people came into the Promised Land, they never fulfilled the will of the Lord, by removing the enemies and taking the land. For 2,000 years the follower of Jesus have also not fulfilled the Lord's plan to take the Land... "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail"

We should be thinking on good things: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things...Philippians 4:8 Is it Ok if there is just a little bit of nasty stuff in the things we put into our hearts, minds, and souls? It is like have an excellent sandwich, with just a tiny bit of poop in ot.

I see that the Mega-Church movement is fading in the USA. I am not a fan of these types of churches. I believe they produce weak believers, who in turn cause the further failure of the Body of Christ, to fulfill the will of the Lord. There are many problems with very large organizations....
